There's no such thing as 'advanced" mmos people will play the games they like. Usually people are attracted to the more mature games because it gives them the idea that it'll be more graphic an intense, or it'll give younger players a feeling that they're older and more mature. Does that make it a good or advanced game because of that? no. I dunno about you guys but IMO M rated is a way bigger attraction than Elves.

I'm glad to see I haven't seen anyone from this board troll the AoC forum though. Shows that crappy flamebait topics are beneath us. <3 WAR fans.

Exactly. Why people feel the need to post in a game section they "don't like", is beyond me. Imagine the chaos if everyone thought like the OP...  There's lots of games I don't like, but I'd achieve nothing if I told them so.

+ Warhammer Online has only 6 of the most boring Warhammer races, theres ok 1 race of elves but why do you need two? Why not just have none and put Vampire counts and Lizardmen in there or even Skaven?

Elves attract kids which means this games going to be 13 year old l33t kids heaven like WOW.

I dont agree with the OP i dont think kids are attracted by elves, they are more atracted by the cool factor prolly like Chaos (i m not saying chaos is for kids dont misunderstand me), and still it's all subjective narrow minded generalizations and it only leads to stupid stereotypes, i have played with smarter and friendlier kids, than some childish adults...

STOP for a second and think...

MANY of us played D&D as kids (or currently play it).  What races did we pick?  At your gaming group was Gnome a common choice?  Or how many Halflings were played?  Im guessing its like mine - not very many.

MOST people played HUMAN, DWARF, ELF......

Now, What did we fight in our introductory missions?  I am sure that most of us have fought (as heroes) plenty of Orc and Goblin

Lets ramp it up to 2007, many of us have played multiple MMORPGs.  What choices of race do we have most commonly?  Human (usually multiple varients), Dwarf, Elf (usually multiple varients) and many allow the playing of Orc/goblin (Wow, LotRO, EQ, EQ2)

And look at our choices... Human (empire/chaos), Dwarf, Elf (high/dark), Orc/Goblin.  Hmmm... things we are already familliar with and form the BACKBONE of Warhammer history.

    Why the big surprise?

They've completed Chaos and empire zones pretty much, hence the new art. Its also the reason they went back and redid the Greenskin/Dwarf zones and pushed back the game, they were able to pull off some really good looking changes in chaos/empire and felt that what they had done with dwarves/Greenskins was lacking in comparison. The latest podcasts show that right now they're working on Elves/Dark elves currently.  I believe that by the end of the summer they'll be finished with all the zones and from then on be working on fleshing out everything and making it all mesh together.
