I'm so happy they finally accounced the plan. I'll be reactivating my sub next weekand when I get paid. Hopefully my rogue is still there as it looks like I wont have to completely reroll off of Targonor. This is a good thing people! Or have all the supporters just not seen this yet? ps: some of you sound surprised. really? Several of you put this game down constantly and say how the servers are all dead etc etc. So why is a drastic server merge a surprise when the population is drastically low? hmm...

Most of us real Vanguard players have moved on to the official boards, b/c there is no point posting here on a board where the only people you discuss the game with only hate it.

I like the whole merger plan. Makes sense to me. I usually group in guild only but we have a tiny guild. This will provide more viable alternatives and should help revive this game. That bright light you see is not the end of the tunnel. It is like the bright light people see when death is upon them. VG is going nowhere. The situation could not be any worst. VG is now 2nd string to Planetside and The Matrix Online. There is no return from that.
By the way I don't WoW people care much about VG. I am not sure they even know it it live. VG is a pimple on WoW's backside.

I'm getting a new pc tonight, and been on the fence about vanguard. Hearing they are merging servers makes me very happy, and more interested to try out the game.
Vanguards system spec's are starting to get more and more current, and as people can run it, more will play, SoE will fix the bugs to the best of their ability but might fail (MXO anyone?) but I won't be like everyone else and knock a game i haven't tried..

If a game sucks or fails to entertain, it will tank and fail. VG failed because to the majority of people who tried it, it was not entertaining (bugs, CTD, unfinished, etc).

I think that this is much needed and about time! I think people fail to realize the size of the world, Sigil included, along with taking into account the highest number of players online at any given time and a merge into 4 servers will make some nicely populated servers. I also found it refreshing that Sony would give the RP players a bit of a vote.

Every poster was a big deal; everyone else was a little deal. That's the Vanguard community, and that's a big part of why your game crashed and burned and has become a laughingstock in the mmo market.
So if you and the handful of other people who play this game want to take refuge on the SOE boards and comb each other's hair and pretend all is well and that Vanguard has a future, go right ahead. Meanwhile, on this and every other public forum people know what's going on, and many of us who saw this coming more than a year in advance can't help but relish watching the buckets of cold water being splashed in the faces of the so-called "elite" in their "next generation" version of narcissism online.

Not quite sure what I prefer happens to the rp server, I really want to have one, but if theres no merge the server might be to empty. Altough there might come more players on it because of the other merges, but im coming back again after the merges, should be a blast
