These are just players going at a round of PvP combat. I am simply PvE'ing by getting my post count up. That's how levels work by the way. I just started though, so I am pretty noob on this forum, but as this is a skill based game, I can still own you.
It is just if I want the best gear (avatar title) then I have to grind posts hard, but I am playing for the experience so I will take my time. Would you like to PvP with me? Choose an arena (topic) and lets roll. I got this awesome new spell called research, its underused though, but once done correctly it really breaks some bones. And if I bind that spell to some logic, its hell on earth for my enemy.
ROTFLMAO.

Hehehe, well you loose title for inactivity, I have <10 posts till last year or so I was 1star even though I've been around forever...

Wow, so Im really glad that a lot of posts are showing up on this discussion thread . . . but I'd appreciate it if the little back and forth troll attacks would stop. I know that it's fun to make fun of people and god knows it usually takes up about half my day . . . but I was hoping tht this thread would be used to discuss what the problems and benefits of this game are and what anyone has for suggestions to make it better. I know that it's kind of pointless . . . but still, I like this game so far and if there is any chance for it to get better in the future, then the only way to do that is to pinpoint problems and figure out what IS working. For example, as I was playin today I was hanging out next to a river . . . and I saw a boat go by . . . and it was totally awesome and I want a boat now! However, I soloed the entire day and was kind of in the mood for a group . . . the LFG works, but Im really looking forward to the new LFG revamp the devs are promising. Anyway, sorry about the partially inchoherent post right now, its late and Ive been drinking (crown and coke if your wodering). Once again, if you ARE going to bash the game . . . at least give me your reasons for why you hate it and if you feel like it . . . tell me what YOU would do to fix it. Anyway, Im goin back to watching boxsweeper.com (it might be the best online sight ever) Peace!
Its a horrible game mostly due to its performance and bug issues. Really, in the condition that its in, it should still be in beta. Other than that, theres really nothing that sets it apart from the fantasy heavy mmo market.
Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?
Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.
You know, I would never misled some one into buying a game.
The fact is that I also hated the state of Vanguard at its release.
Today, the game is different. Most people deny (and do not know) that who post here. It is a very fun and interesting game if you are interesting a fantasy game with many and varied options, an enormous world, and different and unique spheres of gaming. The content is breathtaking and you have many options to solo and group. I actually cannot believe how large this world is, and I keep coming across new content for solo and group adventures. If that appeals to you, its awesome class system, unique races (and racial abilities) ... you should consider the game. I could go own. It is a great game, overall. Thank Gawsh SOE is working as diligently as they are to take this game to the next level.
----- WoW and fast food = commercial successes. I neither play WoW nor eat fast food.
This forum here on mmorpg.com does not reflect the game or the real community at all.
The only thing this game needs is time and development. I am quite sure it will get that at SoE.
The only thing that was really broken at release was the community. Release communities are a nightmare since WoW release. The so called "downfall" of V:SoH was actually an act of selfheal. You have to try hard if you want to find a single retard ingame today.
Chat channels are full of newb questions. Many people give the game a try and after server merge the game will be in a good shape.
Vanguard has three spheres to advance. Plus some fluff goals like boats, houses and furniture. But a mmorgp is not always about progression. Those people who think so are either spoiled or just 100% achivers. But there are also other goals. Like building a vitual life on Telon. Building a reputation as tank or healer or crafter or *gasp* human beeing.
Depends on what you want from a mmorpg. Depends on where to the Devs go besides bug fixing. Do they keep the basics or turn the game ito something more popular !? Depends on why you left. It was worth it for me to return.
200,000 people bought the game and tried it. There are an estimated 30,000 people left. Therefore, 170,000 people tried it and quit. Not negative forums posts. Not "wall of text" positive posts but 170,000 tested it and dropped it. The game started with 13 servers and now will merge down to 4 after 5 months of going live. The original company that developed the product fired it's employees in the parking lot of the office. If it were not for SOE stepping in at the last moment this game would be history and not even be live. Given that information I think one can conclude that this is a "horrible" game. Yes.
The only part of this you can back up is that the game sold 200k copies and the servers are merging.
But wait. The game sold OVER 200k copies. So the only thing you actually got right was that the servers are merging.
BTW. 13 servers is to much for 200k subs. COH has about that much from the last I saw and around the same number of servers, and you'll still find servers that aren't that populated, not to mention the game world is considerably smaller.
You post the same exact thing in every post in this forum.

The whole "its different now" argument is really crap...
The differance between OMGWTF shitty and OMG shitty is insignifigant... Is it better now? How could it not be? There were SO many bugs and broken/non-existant content that really anything that didn't involve complete shutdown would be an improvement (though some would say that would be the ultimate improvement)...
Seriously, there are free MMO's out there with less bugs and more content, sorry to say...

This isn’t a bad game but it also isn’t a good game. It does everything all the other games do, it doesn’t stand out in any way. Like many I was in the beta and got the game at launch. In developmet this game was going to be the end all of MMOs, the ideas they had sounded like everything I could ever want. Beta was nothing close to what the game was envisioned to be, but it was still in Beta so it was okay. Then the game went gold, still felt empty but it was early on in the games life. Then nothing, nothing has changed. The world if huge and not bad to look at but it empty, none of the epicness of the games idea made it into the game.
Like I said it isn’t a bad game it just isn’t good, it you want to play a MMO like this get WoW. Best part about WoW is the amount of people playing.

By the features alone you would be correct, a mediocre rehash, but the bugs and broken content change it from mediocre to terrible...

For me it is simple, and it is the same reason as for why many other MMOs are unplayable...raiding enforcement.
Maybe I can understand why EQ went raiding. But I honestly won't forgive, nor understand, any other more recent release. Raiding is a mistake someone can do once as a dev, if they do it twice, trash them.

There is absolutely ZERO - I MEAN ZERO AS NONE WHATSOEVER, NOT A GLIMMER- of raiding enforcement in Vanguard.
I will not play a game with "raiding enforcement." I did that crap a long time ago, and I have ZERO interest in it again. Why do I like Vanguard as much as I do? ZERO RAID ENFORCEMENT!

This is the truest review I've ever seen of Vanguard. It's not bad, it's not good, it's just kind of there. At it's best it's kinda ho-hum but it'll give you that mmo kick if you're looking for it. That's the best I can say about it and I'm playing and kind of enjoying it. It is a huge let down though because of all the new innovative ideas that were promised.
