    Not only do I disagree with you, I take issue with your statement.  My head is not up any form of a**, yet I still hate SOE with a passion.  I have had some pretty nasty experiences with SOE, so I am speaking from experience.  And only an idiot would get burned and stick his hand back in the fire.

    Flying Labs made a big bad mistake by going with the Walmart of MMO publishers.  I haven't been this pissed off about a game in a long time.  This really is unfortunate and horrible news.

    You won't get larger populations with SOE.  Vanguard is a good example of that, and they started with a similar deal.  Then SOE up and bought the whole thing... developer and all.  Then you will see the wonder of horrid testing and rediculous downtime.  Oh, and the dishonesty with the player base... gotta love it.

    Good luck with that.

    I have never had a problem, 9/10 its user error. There is a big "Cancel subscription" button in your account, what people get all pissed about, is when they cancel, they think it ends then, right then. DONE. This isn’t true, depending on when you cancel, you could owe one last month (As you should) so people (Children) get upset. If it was truly a problem, then just get a new card issued (New number) Cancel payments to SOE (Bank) , or just use Timecards (anonymous).

    Do you even know what situation you are referring to?  lol

    I described billing issues, but did not state what they were, and you are going to comment on them?  The billing issues I experienced were not related to cancellation (they actually got that part right).

    And the horrible customer service, and in-game support, were certainly not user error.   I didn't make them suck at what they do.

    It s truly amazing how so little people actually comment on the billing issues etc. It s just i had billing issues blah blah blah. I have had a SOE sub off and on for 6 years now cancelling alot coming back getting billed for this that and everything and not once have i ever had an issue. It s trivial to me and not worth mentioning imo when it comes to wether i m going to play a game or not. Anyways i ve said my fill all this SOE hate is a joke and really getting stale.

    I've played SOE online games off and on for years since EQ1 and I've never had any issues.   Shit happens when it comes to the human factor in the billing process and sometimes there are just really bad customer service reps those are the ones that get fired first.   

    GM / in game service is a 50/50 chance you get some ahole being paid 8 dollars an hour to listen to people whine about dumbcrap like "i accidently deleted this item can i have it back" eventually they're bound to not be so helpful.   Do I blame SOE or the company in charge for this?  No I keep record of who it was and frigging report them. (course i've never had a problem i need to whine at them about, i've been lucky in that respect i suppose).

    If you encounter problems with a PERSON ask to speak to a manager and if they refuse (which will never happen unless their call center is over seas which alot of companies are doing more and more which sucks)  report the 'billing' issue to your credit card company and let them duke it out. 

    Please Refer to Doom Cat with all conspiracies & evil corporation complaints. He'll give you the simple explination of..WE"RE ALL DOOMED!

    Leave it to fanbois to try to defer obvious bad service on the customer rather than the company.

    The billing issues, customer service issues, dishonesty, and poor stability issues I talk about regarding SOE are well documented.  People who wish to pretend they don't exist are not just fooling themselves, they are making fools of themselves.

    For the record... I have never contacted any game's support or service people for issues like "accidentally deleting" an item or other such noobish mistakes.  We've all done stupid things like that at one point or another in our gaming experiences, but I have always just accepted it and moved on.

    I've never made a single anti-SOE comment despite feeling that they are very much responsible for destroying my favorite game (PlanetSide), but this news has left me.....flabbergasted.

    Good to know. I have never had an issue with billing, or Customer support.  But then again, I treat any CS staff like I do my wait staff, I am calm and polite, and explain the issue with details and facts, I do not rant , rave, make crap up, and I am not nasty to them.

    No, people who refuse to accept a truth about the negative aspects of their preferred vendor as fanboys.  People disagree all the time, that is not the prerequisite for fanboyism.

    While I have had issues with SOE billing, service, and support, I treat CS/TS reps the same way you describe here.  Calmly, politely, and I provide as much information as possible.  I would rather have my support/service issues resolved.  I don't call to yell at people.  That doesn't help anything.  But when a company offers horrible service and support, I won't do business with them, and I will recommend to as many people as I can to avoid them as well.

    It's funny that bothers you so much.  Do you work for SOE?  lol

    Besides, I cancelled my EQ2 subscription... so I am no longer having issues.

     Well.. at least they are getting publicity I'll still be play POTBS even though SOE is the publisher. I don't hold grudges though. I was as big a SWG fan as anyone but when it went south I just sorta laughed it off and moved on. Frankly with as much work as FLS has put into POTBS I think it will sink or float based on the game. Not who published it. As for Vanguard. Sigil messed that one up and not SOE.            On a side note I've never had trouble with SOE CS. They always were civil enough to me and always quick. Not that it negates there crappy CS member heheh. Always rotten apples anywhere you go! Hrmm well except LOTRO. I haven't heard may nightmare stories.

    It only bothers me because you are calling me a fanboy. When I am anything but, I hate what they did to SWG, but im not going to blame the entire SOE staff, just the SWG team, as anything else is unrelated. That, and I play quite a few of the SOE games, and have not had an issue, and i have saved more money from the Pass than i care to think about, and still had tons of fun. I will be checking out this game now, where before i wouldn’t, as the PASS is my budget, ill still play planetside, will most likely play The agency, and still play the other games i play... You can’t beat the deal.

    There are far worse company’s with far worse CS staff,, however your acting like they killed your child. I simply commented that i have never had issues, not that you did not.  Reading comprehension FTW!!

    Ok i ll give you one thing that i m sure you have had a problem, but i and many others haven t so what you say as facts well publicized , reputation blah blah doesn t exist here. So let me tell you in easier terms because it happened to you and others doesn t mean it has for everyone. So on that fact alone I or anyone else disagreeing with you or your so called facts does not make us fanbois etc it makes us as people with our own opinions and facts. So i say to you if you  rant about your opinions all you want but don t put down others who have a different one then you, it s just plain iggnorant.

    Well I will still give it a try, but if flying labs sells out to SOE, this game will be history.   I won't play a game with SOE support, everything they touch turns to crap.

    I understand that you have not had issues with SOE.  There are 336 complaints registered with the BBB against SOE in the last 36 months.  Those are the people that took the time to file a complaint against SOE with the BBB, and that only covers the last 3 years.  walmart.com has less complaints agaisnt them, and walmart is one of the worst companies in the world (topic for another forum).

    People who are going to ignore the issues that DO exist, simply because they themselves have been lucky enough not to get hit with them, are going to catch flack when they defend the offending company.  If you are happy with SOE, the station pass is a killer deal.  But at what cost?

    On top of the issues I have mentioned regarding SOE's, there is the who idea of SOE attempting to monopolize the MMO market by creating such a collection games that no independent publisher could compete.  Look at how things are now.  Sigil sold out, now Flying Labs is on the same path.  Who is next?  After SOE finishes eating PoTBS... who will they swallow next?

    Are we going to be left with a choice between Blizzard or SOE for game publishers?  This sort of thing is dangerous to the industry, and harmful for smaller studios trying to produce games.

    The way with which you reacted to my posts are what made me think of you as a fanboi.  Not what you said, but the manner with which you said it.  You can have differing opinions, I see nothing wrong with that.  But when you present them as if you are offended because I hate SOE, then you sort of look like a fanboi.

    No, it isn't the end of the world.  It's just another example of a big company getting bigger, and doing everything it can to squeeze smaller companies out of the market.  That isn't exactly what I consider to be good for the industry.

    They allready pointed out that SOE has nothing to do with the development of the game at all.

     Sony Online Entertainment

    • Billing

    • Launcher

    • Retail Distribution

    • Localization

    • Marketing

     

    So please drop the hating, as you can see they have no influence of the game , their just good at handling money.

    This is exactly what was said about Sigil & Vanguard when SOE got involved... now look at the situation.

    Besides... SOE isn't exactly all that good at much of that.
