It is just so funny that the trolls crying vaporware because of two missed beta dates in here, now are running around in the AoC forums trying to excuse a second release delay with " they only need to polish the game a bit".
As a troll I'd say this is disappointing because the earlier ppl play this fault game the faster they give up on it and start looking for another one that is better.
I'm not sure what game you are reffering to but I guess it is true for both if the quality doesn't mach the hype. At least for some type of players.
The guys I play with is so sick of the standard levelbased themeparkgame that they in pure desperation play Neverwinter Nights 2 or Two worlds as their "MMO" of choice So I will play this game even if the quality or features is somewhat lacking.

The question must be who you place your trust in. I read it you haven't tried either AoC or DF, right ? Both just have screenshots, videos, hype, fanbois, haters and 3rd person opinions who may or may not have tried it. So how fun or boring both games are a subjetive thing and until you have tried them both, your opninion just offset mine as I belive DF will be fun.
Now, I have worked and talked with former and current employees of Funcom. So over the years I have formed an opinion on Funcom. Can we trust them not to lie ? I believe so. Can we trust then not to spin in a bad situations to weight some truths over others ? Now this is when things are getting murky. A few years back Funcom where in the norwegian press because they were accused of exploit their staff . I know for a fact that situation was spun by the leadership of Funcom. Could they do so again ? I belive so if the pressure is high enough. And so would probably I if I were in their shoes as we are all just humans.

The game is pushed out by 5 months. Big deal. It's not ready and Funcom knows it's not ready and rather than pull a Vanguard they give it more time (recent press releases suggest they got extra funding, which means they can avoid pulling a Vanguard). I don't see how this has anything to do with AoC being better or worse than DF and why you present it like that.
I also don't see how the credibility of Funcom, in particular to it's employees, has anything to do with this decission. Maybe they delayed the game because they did not want to exploit their employees? Ever thought of that? I am sure the wealth of sources you seem to have within Funcom is absolutly 100% trustworthy when it comes to their opinions?
I would go as far as say that your entire post is pretty much irrelvant and all you tried to do was get one over on the people who prefer AoC to DF.
Conan got delayed. Good for the game, good for the genre i say. Hopefully it's gonna be a good game when it releases. Hopefully DF is gonna be a good game. I won't play either i think, but i respect companies that can say "hey we are not ready",because far too many developers/publishers release too early.
This thread is regards to the trolls that is running in this and other forums. Some of the trolls that have been in here "attacking" DF, is now the defenders in AoC. Some of the problems they have had with DF is suddenly not a problem in AoC. Its about hypocricy and arrogance. I guess if you have not been in here, it is a good thing you don't get the point

Dont understand where the battle is to defend or attack a game... think you have a problem with this, they (devs and distrib) dont give you anything for defending their work, their games, why there must be a war with games? perhaps I can play AOC and DF, and, cause Im Rich WaR too!! stop doing post like this to get a confrontation between players, its better to be criticist and get with pressure better games.
AoC forums are in uproar at the moment with so many looting threads I seriously underestimated those guys. The devs even start claiming they want to have Looting / FFA PVP server. at worse they will have Borderlands which isnt so bad.
It's not DF, but its okay.... the thought of being confined to a Class in PVP though. um, man I jsut cant do it. I want the ffreedom to respec at will. so no AoC/WAR for me rather play FPS. much more player skill filters through. Class too cookie cutter--->

I saw this so much in WoW andf all its ilk its ridiclous when will ppl get burned out on that. At least Guild Wars was freeform and its free (well not free but no subs). So go GW at the least. can at least build your own Class
edit- I might try AoC though that being said to be honest haha. I think it loks good especially with Guild ssieges. and i could care less if PVE'ers get their safe zones as long as they dont steamroll us pvpers (in which they wont)

I made the mistake to get Two Worlds on xbox360. I cant even get online. Im waiting on the patch. hopefully they will keep FRIENDLY FIRE and it'll be freeform character development withy the multiplayer characters. been playing the single player section and its not so bad. a bit buggy and for sure not up to par with Elder scrolls oblivion but it'll do til Halo 3 releases

I will try Darkfall if it ever comes out, but small shops like this one have a horrible track record in this genre, I don't expect it will be very good.

Are you sure there isn't a video somewhere that shows a build where one guy was in god mode doing pvp against like 4 or 5 other players and he had a UI?

You're jumping to conclusions. Go look at City of heroes pre-release videos on their site (E3). Now see what we have. radically different interface. they were a skill based title too before they released. totally different character builder screens, etc. what they showed us fans and what released was a bit different
maybe im a noob but also recall they didnt give us comic book fans much info. sure they did have a HUD true- but thats not the HUD im playing now. Sure, they had a character advanacement system- but its not the freeform, point based HERO inspired system i thought it would have. sure, maybe they got PVP *now*- but its not the player driven game i hoped for in the least.
User interface / Ingame HUD system is one of the last things game developers 'finalize'. It goes through so much revision and such due to Art direction. This varies from studio to studio- but yeah some put off HUD systems for a long time. besides, they could've made their ingame movies using '/hud off' commands. I know when I made PVP videos in city of heroes I turned off the HUD using the demo playback features. if they're using a simple Debug HUD anyway, I wouldnt want to show that off.

Yes, there was such video, allthough its from 02-04? And yes, on offical DF site there are screenshots of inventory and UI.

Not true, a troll is someone who posts with the sole intent of ratteling someones cage in the hope of getting (angry) replies. If the post is based on fact or not doesn't matter.
To add something on-topic. Darkfall somehow reminds me of the game Dawn from Glitchless(if anyone remebers that one). Alot of promises that sounded great, you could do this you could do that etc etc, RPers were jumping up and down like little children, and in the end all they got was a t-shirt. Anyway that's why I don't care if Darkfall will see the light of day or not. If it does we've got another mmorpg to choose from and if it doesn't, well then we can laugh at the fanbois disenchantment. (probably the latter)
