yeah every MMO has NPCs in it but all this talk of reset and even numbers reads like a game watered down for newbies and maximum ease. I saw the podcasts I cant see why a pvper with experience would get excited about fighting mobs? Ive seen 'real' PVP games where all defense of a town is mounted by the players.
It doesn't do it right away infact the players CAN force the enemy side out .. however if after a while (im guessing days) they fail to then npc will start to spawn at increasing rates to "reset" the cap city.
It will proably be a big event... and alot of the world pvp in hot spots does include npcs its part of their pvp. The attackers do have the card stacked against them .. this is to draw out the battle and make them more side vs side WARs than a ninja tower capture.
DAOC has npc guards and well no one really ever thought this to be not pure PVP... the goal is to stop players from steam rolling an area before players can react to the attack.

4.0.10 What will be the rewards for RvR, and what about Sacked cities ?
There will be a rewards system for WAR. Details are not known at this time.
Quest NPC's aren't killable, you can still quest etc with no problem (other than the enemy being all around you)
Sacked cities will be retaken by the owners in 24 hours.
You can take the enemies leaders back to your capital and they'll have to be recaptured.
When taken, cities will still have 'safe areas' where there will remain things available to local races that a player might want at any time (Auction House, Bank, Necessary merchants, trainers, etc.)
that's so lame just like I said what kinda war is this lol. everything you do is 'reset' how is this not what I said before.
