There is nothing wrong with TR graphics. They look fine, not LOTRO beautiful, but still, I didn't even think about it once in-game. TBH, TR is looking fantastic, Im very optimistic for its future. Its fun.
The graphics are as good if not better than LOTRO, the screenshots shown just really don't do the game justice.
You know what, I'm fast becoming a bit of a..well..*ahem* a fan..you know... alright fanboy of TR. The graphic are fine.
Isn't the game still in beta? Have we even SEEN the final approved graphic quality of this game yet? I don't think we have. Lets not jump to conclusions till the game is out please? I remember LOTR not having the high rez graphics until release, which is why I mention anything at all.
Excellent point. Even in the Gamespot preview, they said things may drastically change. Im not impressed, but I wasnt blownaway.

Yes it's still in beta, but the higher end graphic settings are pretty much tweaked to perfection, and honestly, it doesnt look like anything you've seen from screenshots or movies.
Ok, here I am the ancient gamer.. First time I got interested in computer gaming I had to dial up to a local number and play Legend of the Red Dragon on a computer located somewhere in my neighborhood.
there was no * lol * barely even the internet. Id say the younger generation is more pleased with fast realistic graphics, and our older genration of gamers are more interested in depth and content mostly becuase as children we had been more exposed to such stimuli.
That being said, everything changes. I believe a good story is a great foundation and graphics are a nice extra. Do not get me wrong, I realize the are many people who dont fit any stereotypes and dont want to classify people. But for all fairness sake you cant just say,
"this x product or that x product has sucky graphics hence it sucks."

I agree with that statement. Graphics is just something extra that makes story feel better
What was graphics on my old ZX Spectrum, playing those old Robin Hood adventures , and i was 10 years old kid from croatia, and i didnt know english....playing text based adventure was pain...
--------------------> Would you like some cheese with that whine?
There are something like 7 settings for the graphics, so those who say they're great and those who say they're not too hot could both be right! For their computer. I can say that they look OK on high, and that high is noticeably better than normal.
My worry would be that TR offers nothing new to the genre. But then when was the last MMORPG that did? Certainly not WoW, and that didn't stop it making Blizzard planetloads of gold...

Well we will have to sit and w8
Will it be new to the genre...i think ye...what do you have in that SFMMORPGTPS genre ?? except maybe AO, game that is older than my car

Just swapping your sword for a gun doesn't make it new. IMO of course. I did like the combat though, it's more immersive and fun than most in the genre. But Fedex and farming quests get boring very quickly, no matter what the combat.
I have to play TR on low settings, otherwise I crash. There seems to be some particular setting when Normal and higher that locks my system up. Anyways, I think if I could play the higher settings, TR would look pretty great. Other than that, TR just doesn't have the immersion that I was hoping for. Cool game for being something a bit different than the typical dwarf and orc mmo. They really need to fix the "sticky" terrain.
I also think the art direction (not neccessarily graphics) are "meh." Then again, they still could shape up and get polished before release.

So yeah... Your opinion really matters.. Really. Like all trolls and flamers, what you think is really important. You know when people talk about the stupidity and idiocy of the WoW community, how they are the worst in the world, the most stupid and arrogant, insulting and abusive, clueless twats in history? They are talking about you.
Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. I like you.

Well... assuming that your system is OK, this is the kind of thing that really needs to be fixed.
High quality graphic may slow down a system but should never crash it. Looks like the developers might have forgotten a few checks that tell if your system can actually handle the high level graphics.
At least 'Id expect a message that tells me "Sorry, cannot use high def graphics because your graphics card misses feature X"
To all of you who say TR's graphics are no good, are you actually playing the game? If you are do you have them maxed? Well I am playing with graphics maxed and they are fantastic! Do not listen to the TR bashers this game has great potential and will suprise many when it is released. I play with most graphics maxed and have not had a single crash yet. The game has a few bugs but over all a pretty solid game at this point.
gfx is pretty nice. on my athlon 3800+, gf7600gt, 1gb ram it works pretty smooth on normal/high settings in 1280x1024 with lotsa other stuff turned on in background (including warcraft 3 ^^)and i like the look of it. some animation bugs are included but hey - thats beta after all. no sweety looking stuff and crappy useles animations like in many chinese rpg (or should i say hack and slashes?). Of course there will always be somebody who doesnt like teh look but remember - gamplay > gfx.
wanna play for looks - go play some dx10 based single player games like lost planet.

lmao thats good. But seriously does this guy have anything better to do then go around and bash Vanguard with like 20 one sentenced posts?
To stay on topic I dunno the graphics are ok but that doesn't matter as long as the gameplay is good.

I know what it looks like, I am in beta. I have found that online movies of ANY game's gameplay always look different than the real thing.
Right now, graphics are not the problem with TR. OTHER things in the game right now need the REAL overhaul. Can't say much else.
Lower the graphics the more content it has.. i always say.

Yeah, that and the bugs. Like when certain commands just stop working. But on that I give them the benfit of the doubt.
I tried all setings but on max my GFX card gives error and chip restarts all the time...and thats bad...cant log into beta forum still tho

More to the point you should be able to manually adjust more settings, and/or the auto options should be smarter.

or it just could have something to do with still being a beta product and far from finished
Well it's certainly beta, it may be far from finished, but more important is how far it is from release...

Like I said before, the graphics really are great.
It's the rest that's crap.
