Looks like it is just preloading right now. The demo won't go live till 7pm EST tomorrow (Monday). Looks like you have to have a paid membership to Fileplanet to preload it too. Won't catch me paying FP for squat anytme soon.
Side note: For anyone looking to pick the game up it seems Circuit City has the best deal. PC= $39.99, Xbox 360= $49.99. I've not seen anyone elses ads yet, so I am sure a few of the other retailers might have sale prices, but at least CC has theirs listed now.

Welcome to Fileplanet. Mind you, the release isn't there issue, that would be 2K games or Irrational's call.
Well, if they release the demo to the public, not paying FP members, I will at least get to see how it runs on my PCs. That will let me gauge whether or not I will buy it on PC or for my 360.

Yup, the Xbox demo has been out for over a week now, but for whatever reason they are opting in to a last minute PC demo. And then they add insult to injury by making it for Fileplanet subscirbers. Sure, you could torrent the thing, but I hate torrents namely because of the leeches out there. That's why I gave that sort of thing up a couple years ago and went legit.
I'll wait till I get to test it on my PCs before I buy the game, if I buy it. I may just get it for my 360. At least Circuit City has it at a good price.

It doesn't matter how great or not either BioShock or Metroid actually will be. The simple fact of the matter is there is NO way for you to know unless you work for an established video game presscenter and have already played the game, and quite frankly, we don't need any more people running around screaming how bad this game or that game will be when it gets released.

What has lost me in today's gaming market is HOW THE HELL people can't tell the difference between "I am not interested in that" and "That game sucks." Sadly, the two do not go hand-in-hand. Because you don't like a game or are not interested in it doesn't mean it's not going to be a fun or "good" game.
Here's the skinny: Which game is going to be better? Metroid Prime 3 or Bioshock.
Here's the answer: Whichever one you like more.
Here's the truth: That only applies to you and no one else.
I think both games offer something. Whether or not they offer something "new" is a moot argument. Hell, 99% of games don't add something new. But more than 1% of games can be fun. Personally, I think comparing Bioshock and Met Prime 3 is like comparing Apples and a Watermelon. Sure, they are both shooters, but they are different genres, control schemes, and styles.

Just played the Bioshock demo.... Wow.... just wow. That game looks GREAAAAAAAAT. Holy shit that water... best water I've ever seen in any game! Definately gonna get the full version. And the performance is great! I got a pretty decent rig(x2 3800+, 2gb pc5400, x1950 pro ultimate) and it ran on highest settings and 1280x960 without no dropdown what so ever.

I'm downloading the demo now. It's getting exceedingly high review scores at the moment. 9.7 on IGN, 95% in PC Gamer, 96% in PC zone.
It's not out until Friday in the UK, so this demo is very welcome.

It doesn't matter how great or not either BioShock or Metroid actually will be. Anybody got the link for the demo on FP? I can't even find the damn game advertised, except for the Direct2Drive version.

There's alot of people downloading this thing right now. I don't mind though. I don't mind that it's only a day before release, either. If I'm interested in a game I'm always going to grab the demo to see if it's really what I'm looking for. Consider it scouting the game.

I'm still in the public waiting line. I don't really care, didn't expect to play it tonight. I'm going on a date tomorrow so there's no hurry to buy the game anyway.
I think you just fanboy'd yourself pretty hard there. Someone said they prefer Metroid Prime 3 over Bioshock and you went ape. So far to the point that you felt the need to cuss out people from the internet you've never met. Personally, I'd call that a Prozac-moment if I've ever heard one.

I cheated. I waited for a friend to download it, put it on his work server, then got it from there at 1MB/s in about 32 mins. :P

I got about 50 minutes left on it, but its bouncing. It should be done by time RAW is over, in an hour and a half.
