Express concern about death knight, get a perma-ban.

So on a recent topic about the new Death Knight I expressed some concern about the way this new ability would be unlocked....
In sum, I stated that "I'd be more excited for this new content if I thought I'd ever actually see it. If prior experience serves, the unlocking quest will most likely be in some form of high-level dungeon that a casual player like me could not possibly participate in."
For this comment I received a permanent ban from the Blizzard forums with no prior conduct violations and no warning. I have contacted Blizzard and there is no hope of ever being able to post on my account again. They will not undo the ban.
So be careful about what you say on the Blizz forums about their new baby. You don't even have to be vulgar or inflammatory to be banned. Just being a casual player expressing concern about future content seems to be reason enough to ban you permanently. Even if you are rather intelligent and articulate about how you say it.

Blizzard definitely has an iron fist when it comes to their forums. I was permanently banned for saying the word "Porncraft" in reference to a particularly risque drawing of their character, and my girlfriend at the time was permanently banned right after for letting my forum friends know I was permanently banned.
You'd think with things like that going on there would be less trolls, but the WoW forums are 99% trolls nowadays.
It's kind of funny, but they actually SEEM TO WANT forums full of trolls, seeing as how they ban all the sensible players (however few they are) for the most retarded reasons.
First, you're completely wrong in your assumption of how the Death Knight is unlocked. Secondly you're not telling us everything, you probably said some very nasty things to/about Blizzard or they wouldn't have banned you. There are threads everyday about people complaining or just stating there opinion on Wotlk and they don't get banned.

I dont know whats up with them, they really seem to care less and less about comunity and more and more about number of game copies sold
Dont get me wrong, i think WoW is one of best mmorpgs and i really enjoy playing it...but looks like i enjoy less and less and that im looking more and more for substitute game

I find it very hard to believe that you got banned for this.

I have to agree... Blizzards never been that touchy about reasonable debate, I used to be far more inflammatory in my criticism over TBC content and they never cared.... I suspect OP is not telling whole story....

More like he posted something clearly against the TOS, started using abusive language or even posted a link to an infected website or trojan. I too had posted quite a few times my opinions and never got banned. There has been some pretty heated topics that never got banned also. Anyone who claims they did nothing wrong and got banned from Blizzard forums is not telling the whole story as I have not seen any of that kind of high-handed forum moderation since beta. Even though I have not played in over 6 months, I still check the forums alot and find the OP's post so full of crap as to make me want to take a shower after posting this.
Agree, i posted about the stupid shammy and pally thing being avail to both sides, and also the shammy talent need to be look at and the screaming about it but still not ban...

Ah I have new news. My account was banned or violation of the terms of use specifically defined as "other" reasons. This is to say, nothing that is actually expressly listed against the terms of service agreement. My post contained no vulgarity, no threats and no colorful expressions. Apparently, I first quoted a blue post and then I responded to it in a contradictory manner. I used the phrase "Of course we know how the death knight will be unlocked” to begin my argument. This was contradictory.
My violation of terms of use... directly disagreeing with a moderator or being contradictory in such a manner is deemed to be harassment.
I’d happily show you the post, but of course I can’t, it’s been deleted. This is how they roll. I can present no evidence in my own defense. I must prove my innocence, which of course has been made impossible.
And yes, I created an account just to tell you all this. Prior to today I read these forums but really had nothing to say. All I wanted to was to read about upcoming MMOs. Now I have something to say. Sure you may think this doesn’t happen. You may think Blizzard is more reasonable than this. I sure did. You may even have yourself posted something more contradictory or argumentative that what I said. But you see, I made on HUGE mistake. I posted something contradictory to a thread that a blue was actually reading.
Call me a liar if you wish. I wouldn’t believe it either till it actually happened to me. Keep on posting intelligent constructive arguments. I kind of have to agree with Citrus, I think you may have said some nasty things, I have simply seen far worse nasty things being posted and the admins never take them down.
If unlocking a DK requires you to raid, well it makes sense, its a hero class and they don't want tons of them running around, its somewhat like unlocking a Jedi in SWG im assuming, it won't be easy.

But how many people who get banned ever come clean up front in their first post about it? There are thousands of people who post that don't get banned. The OP did something.

I call BS on the OP sorry, I've seen far worse on the WoW forums than some well thought out comments. Because of the idiocy of the WoW forums in general I must use this phrase " Screenshots or gtfo", if you can't provide that then you might as well go outside and try convince someone you saw a UFO.
Yeah OP, you just may have had the bad luck to post in a forum that was being monitored by a moderator (while most never are) and you managed to tick him or her off with your post. I guess they have every right to ban you...but the good news is... you have every right to quit paying them a sub fee. (Or you could just open a new account, and post under it... but that's a bit extreme just for forum posting)

They probably banned you for being a complete idiot.
If you read any of the interviews or watched (read) the Blizzard pannel discussion on WotLK you would know the Death Knight is opened via a small quest line arouned the difficulty of the warlock epic mount line of quests.
Otherwise I guaruntee you aren't telling us something. I've made worse posts than that on the WoW forums and haven't even received a warning yet.
actually i think they need to have a heavier hand on their forums, people get away with alot of stuff there, so i'm thinking your not telling the whole story.
edit: people seem to think forums are there for them to say whatever they wish with no consequence, all people need to do is follow the rules and they should be okay....but i will give the OP the benefit of the doubt, he could have caught a mod on a bad day...
edit2: also they have been getting bombarded with the same questions over and over, people need to stop panicking ahead of time and wait till they give full details on what they are gonna do...people start freaking out over any little change instead of keeping a cool head about it and waiting and seeing whats gonna happen.

They're really cracking down lately. I got a forum ban on both of my accounts for expressing dissatisfaction with the game. I guess it's cheaper to censor than fix years-old bugs or address the 99% of your playerbase not doing BT now... Naxx back in the day, etc.
The saddest thing about WoW isn't that Tigole Bitties has won and is being paid to screw players and create the raids that only someone as stupid as he could love so much. It's that Blizzard attributes WoW"s success to this idiot and not their reputation.
Well think about this for second, if the reason you were banned was taking a Blue quote out of context and spinning it into spreading misinformation about the class, despite being explicitly told what you're saying is not true, I think the ban is worthy.
Seriously, the only thing you know about the DK is what Blizzard have told you. To contradict what they're saying about THEIR class which only they know anything about is the epitome of stubborness. I could understand if this was an issue related to an existing class, but who do you think you are?
The expansions is probably more than 6 months away. Why don't you take a chill pill instead of whining to Blizzard and getting others riled up?
