Absolutely no reason why kids won't buy this game :)

Its perfectly acceptable and in line with the lore. If people have issues with it, its most likely religious ones, and that then makes it their problem, not the makers.

And why pay $15 a month when you can get porn on the net for free. ;)

M allows the content in which the world environment is created. All long a line with in the lore, you can't make a Conan I.P. game and do it justice with an Everyone or really a Teen rating.

I'm not adverse to sexual content if it's well executed in AoC, since it is a large part of Howard's tales. However, I just don't see this being done in any credible way. What Funcom has to realize is adults don't care so much about blood splatters and "boobies" as they do for a solid game. Sure, those things are fun and all, but more a lure for younger players than anything else. I think this will bring the kiddies out in droves. Face it, the Hyborian Age is colored with fighting and f@cking so it's not something the devs should ignore or present in a watered down way, as long as things don't turn into a gimmicky spank-a-thon for prepubscent boys turned on by pixels.

I totally agree with that Ghost12 lol. I mean its funny...they yell SEX!! and everyone comes running lol. "Oh WOW!!! Ill get to pay a girl some money to watch the screen go black for a few seconds then come back with a buff that will last 5 mins!!! OMGGGGGG@!!!!!"

Seriously...come on!!! heres why i laugh at this. the game will not be allowed to actually show any actual signs of intercourse so theres nothing to get excited about. If they did the game would get a AO rating and the government in NA and some other countries STRICTLY forbid any video game retailers from selling a game thats AO..look at the whole Manhunt 2 fiasco..as soon as they got the AO (Adults Only) rating for there gaming all countries immediately told them they would not allow the game to be sold. EVEN the US government told them that they were not allowed to continue development on it with that Rating. So the devs went and changed ALOT of the game and made tons of edits just to get a M rating.

So dont get all excited just because of the word "sex" when you wont be getting much at all when it comes to this game.

I don't think it is sad that they are putting this in the game, as nothing will be shown, I think it is sad for the people who are getting all excited about this.

The US government doesn't forbid anyone from making an AO game that is strictly a retailers decision.  The supreme court has struck down every such attempt at any law like that.  Hell. MMORPG even has an article on it.  On a side note, will the controller vibrate on the 360 version during sex?  Thats reason enough to get a 360.

While the comment about the US government was somewhat true, It was the ESRB that gave it the AO rating which lead to MANY US retailers to not sell it and Sony and Nintendo would not distrubte it for their consoles. NOW!! If what im seeing here in my other window is correct, it was the US federal Government that forced the creation of the ESRB, and if it was not created in one year (at the time of the federal hearing that took place) they were going to create a rating system of their own. This took place at the time the first Mortal Kombat was released and if you all dont remember it was the governments of the different countries (not just the US, but they were heavily involved) that were not allowing to let that game see light UNLESS a rating system was in place..hence the hearing. Now AO games do exist...BUT all companies like Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, and other publishing/distribution companies that give us the games we know now DO NOT allow AO games to be released to the general public, not just because its their own policies, but if they did they even know that the US federal government would have them shut down, because they do not like that kind of stuff being released to the exposure of our youth. ok im done lol

Conan the Barbarian was rated R, and it was awesome.  Conan the destroyer was rated PG, it was not as awesome.  Sex and violence sell because they play on our primal urges.  Welcome them both or go play Maplestory.

Yea but most people I know dont play videogames to fufill the urge for sex. Most of them, and most normal people, would either do the real thing or err you know look at porn and such. I mean theres really no point to stick a "have sex with someone" button in the game for a buff bonus. Haha imagine if raids go like this:

"Everyone have their demo buff on? Theyre Fire shields? Theyre stregnth buffs?"

    "Yeah I got it."

    "yea."

"Oh Randy I see you dont have your sex buff on. Go have sex with someone here with us real quick so we can get the raid going."

    "..."

    "What is it?"

    "Sorry...I'm straight."

    Bwahahaha!!! That would be hilarious!

     - You have had sex!

    - You feel a tingling sensation in that "special" area....

    - You have caught Genital Warts! Your strength, endurance, and agility have been reduced!

    - Go see a priest to have them remove it.

    - You should have used protection!

Considering there probably will be no women playing the game, when you guys are having sex just remember that's going to be a dude on the other side of the screen. hah   So live it up!

What is needed here are PG-13 servers for adults to play on to avoid the massive amount of 18-25 year old kiddies that will infest this game because of the of the blood, gore nudity and now sex.  The last thing we need is another MMO for juveniles.

I have never seen a MMO that has the potential to have a worse community than AoC.  I used to have lots a lot of respect for Funcom until I saw their marketing for AoC.  At this years  E3 the first words out of the devs mouth was "Our game has boobies."  Not only did many fo the press people turn away in a look of disgust but it really tells you how they are marketing this game and who they are marketing it to.  Just shamless.  Do we really need to dumb down the MMO genre even more.  I have never rooted for a MMO to fail but this type of pandering to juvenile hormones makes me think  a successful AoC would be a very bad message to send to future games in an industry dominated by copying the success of previous games.

Its such a shame as the game  at its core it could be a very solid game.  Without aPG 13 servers or some way to protect adults t from the hormone raging kiddies I can't imagine playing AO unless the gameplay is absolutely amazing.
