1. World of Warcraft, Only pre-BC, I have played BC and the Arena system is very fun but they ruined many other aspects of the game that I had previously enjoyed in regular WoW. I had the most fun in that game when Naxxramas had first come and everyone was just starting it. That was the best instance imo, and now they are going the route of 3049089 expansions , Man i miss regular WoW
2. Warcraft 3, only the online custom games (i sucked at the real game online) so DOTA mostly (PM me if you wanna play dota, always looking for people to play with, USEAST Lord_Mene
3. Diablo 2 (hack and slash instant action fun, not really an mmo, but man i hope they make a sequel)
1) Runescape: Although i dont play it anymore it was still my first MMO and most addictive MMO.The haters keep hating but I still think its the best out there.
2)EVE-Online:The grind is nearly unoticable. Econemy is great. The freedom to do what ever you want is amazing. 0.0 combat owns.
3)WoW: Just because it was a well designed game. I know alot of you may disagree.
All of those games I got addicted to. Super Mario I once played for a day straight when I was 7. Goldeneye I got off of eBay later on after the 64 was a retired system, and of course fell in love with it. Jak 2 is there because it was a huge improvement from Jak and Daxter, had an amazing storyline, and was flat out FUN. Although it sucked that it could be beaten in a day if you were hardcore.
WoW should soon be the next "Big game" in my life.
1. Star Wars Galaxies (pre-NGE this was greatest video game of all time, period)
2. Eq2 (this game speaks for itself and is #1 in its own right)
3. Planetside (4.5yrs later and we all still log on. Vanu on Emerald for life)!!!
4. EverQuest (the standard by which every subsequent MMORPG is forever judged)
5. Vanguard (I'm upset too but it can be something special someday. Discipleis quite literally the most amazing class of any online game short of my pre-CU triple Master TKA/Pistoleer/Smuggler in SWG)
Console games:
1. Wizardry (Nintendo) the reason I skipped most of 11th grade (1990-91)
2. Madden '95 (Sega Genesis)
3. Tecmo Super Bowl (Nintendo) a lifetime of memories made alone & w/friends
4. PGA Tour III (Sega Genesis)
5. the original Need for Speed (3DO)
Stand-alone PC games:
1. Sports Car GT (WinXP)
2. Jane's Israeli Air Force and Jane's USAF (WInXP)
3. Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed or Might & Magic VI: Mandate of Heaven
4. Total War series (Windows various) critcally acclaimed titles starting with Shogun Total War
5. Jordan -vs- Bird (Commodore 64) the game that got me into computers
Arcade:
1. Street Fighter 2 (you can put a child through college w/the money I spent on this game alone)
2. Pacman (what more is there to say)
3. Asteroids
4. Mortal Kombat (I never played much but understood its impact on the gameplaying community)
5. A million others from Defender, Galaga, Joust, Centipede, Space Invaders, Tempest and Pole Position to everything in between
Genuine honorable mention to all the various Tom Clancy Red Storm games, especially w/their success across multiple platforms such as PC, Xbox, Playstation (etc).
Now (PC online): Eq2, Vanguard, Planetside, SWG Now (PC offline): Medieval Total War 2 (w/Kingdoms), Rome Total War (w/Barbarian Invasion) Now (PS2): Madden 2008, Gran Turismo 3 & 4, Star Wars Battlefront I & II Soon (PC online): Pirates of the Burning Sea, Age of Conan, Star Trek Online, (Gods & Heroes)? RIP (PC Online): EQ, EVE
1) SWG - It was flawed in so many ways but somehow it just captured the fun factor. Memories like finding the tusken bunker, the first time you got eaten by Snarlac and even the Jabba missions, modern games have those moments but they're quickly forgotten. Plus it probably had the best community of any MMO (except maybe EVE) and was actually geared towards being social without forcing it (think about the cantina entertainers, medic buffers even the solo groups)
2) WoW - For all it's flaws - mainly the grind IMO, it's a really well polished game and fun to play. If everyone wasn't so obsessed with levelling and gear the community would be ten times better off. As it is if you don't level fast enough you get left behind and it ruins a lot of the social aspects.
3) EVE - Another great game, despite the amount of people online, the size of the galaxy and the mass amounts of data going through it you hardly ever lag. The community are really helpful even when the noob channell can be the biggest chore to help with. Only let down by the massive time commitment required for learning the best skills. It should really be number one but for some reason I just can't put it there.
1. Planetside was my first MMO I player, and the best MMOFPS i ever played. Me and a some of my buddys in the outfit did all sorts of things, from random to really tactical, and I had many good moments with that game.
2. SWG was my second MMO, and the best MMO I've player in its early days. There was nothing better than to raid AH (Ancorhead) with our alliance. And I can say with 100% accuracy that it was the biggest community that I've seen in the MMO's I've played. That community fell appart though when NGE came out, and to me, the game followed with it. I never thought I'd miss geting buffed in Coronet. But it was a great game Pre-CU and CU, and some of my friends that i got to meet those days I still talk to today.
3. I'd say Everquest 2 belongs to my top 3 aswell. What can I say, it was fun and it still is.
Playing: EVE Online Favorite MMOs: WoW, SWG Pre-cu, Lineage 2, UO, EQ, EVE online Looking forward to: Archeage, Kingdom Under Fire 2 KUF2's Official Website - http://www.kufii.com/ENG/ -
1) Runescape. I dont care what anyone says, I'll love this game no matter what (I dont play it now though)
2) Medal of Honor : Allied Assault. I remember going to the Gaming Cafe almost everyday to play this, became the 4th best in my city. Also managed to get my dad to play it lol, he used to go to the gaming cafe with me.
3) World of Warcraft. Before the BG's were introduced, and before anyone cared about the end game raiding... Oh good ol' days... And I sure do miss my times in STV, ganking people on my gnome warrior - then being ganked by their mains ; followed by their mains getting ganked by my friends.
In my opinion, all of the games above are dead for me. Runescape is filled with hackers and scammers, Auto-Bots are so easy to get its not even funny, EVERY single world has 40% bots. I sure do miss Runescape 1 actually :P
Medal of Honor... bleh... after 2 years everyone in my city kinda stopped and started playing Warcraft 3 a map called DOTA. And I got bored of MOHAA too anyway.
World of Warcraft, like I said before - BG's, TBC and Endgame raiding ruined it for me.
Played almost everything... Currently playing nothing... Waiting for: Darkfall, WAR, Guild Wars 2.
I would also like to add the small amount of time I played the open beta in Navy Field awhile back. The fights in the noob zone were so much fun it was amazing. I've rarely had that amount of adrenaline going threw me when those DOZENS of ships versus DOZENS of other ship battles occured.
Comments
1. Battlefield 1942 with the "Desert Combat" mod - I spent wayyyyyy too many hours on this game, but I love it. Apache wars are hte best!
2. Earth and Beyond - It was just a plain old FUN mmo...and I miss it.
3. Rainbow 6 series - Always a blast.

top 3 isn't easy, but I guess my best would be:

2) Goldeneye 007

All time any platform for me:

I understand they are very different types of games but it is all time I believe. If it were just computer platform I would kick mario for EQ.
1) Earth and Beyond
2) World of Warcraft, Pre-BC
3) Eve Online, Before the intro of Tech 2 gear
Earth and Beyond
EvE early days
EvE
