Is this another man, cause I read this like 6 months ago

If you're dumb enough to let yourself die gaming you are either trying to kill yourself, or you should die anyways.

  • silverqsilverq Member Posts: 52

No it's the same man, he died twice. Internet gaming is just that dangerous.

  • BigHatLoganBigHatLogan Member Posts: 688

Hopefully the communists use this to destroy the gold farmers.  On a side note, the man couldn't have died from playing WoW, that game is far too boring.

interesting. 30 hours is excessive but don't people do that kind of thing in Lan parties? I've never done one personally but I thought it was quite common. Do wonder what he was playing. Surely, its completely viable staying up 3 days without dieing, why are gaming or computer activities any different or any more dangerous? I mean if you watched TV for 3 days without sleeping you wouldn't die, so what would be different about any kind of gaming?

This guy may have beaten the game.  In the world of MMOs if you finish the game you get the end credits, then you die!

  • A similar thing died a couple years ago in pretty much the same way, but it was due to Starcraft. When you don't go to the bathroom for 3 days your done for apparently.

sad story, will this cause any effect to the game he had played?

    Totally agree.

In the long run it is better for the industry and internet cafes if they moderate the amount of time their customers spend there than let them die of exhaustion. If enough of these deaths happen there will be a backlash from society and I can only speculate what the results from that would be.

Sounds like they are either very lazy or very greedy to care that little for their customers.

This is nothing new i collect these, and the only newspaper i get is the toledo blade. a smaller nw ohio newspaper. I started about 8 years ago i have 8 chinese dudes that have died this way. (most of them rather young).

Why they keep making it into the news? Well one its hard to believe and two it satisfies two things , one parents and older peoples desires to somehow see games as a negitive influence, and two the love of blood sport in all of us (like those tv shows that show people getting hurt , fall , crashes , those).

But yes i was happy to see this , because its another for my collection.

Had he done this at home who would you blame , you have to understand that some of these ICs in Chinese are large and see many many many people come in and out. Many of whom speend much of their day on them (making money). Othewrs who are just computer addicts, but regardless, i am 100% aginst saying other people should monitor YOUR behavior. Stops speaking this new wave no think crap, YOU ARE RESPONCIABLE for yourself and no one else is responciable for you other than if you are a minor.

GROW up and stop passing the blame.

I  agree that people should be responsible for their own behaviour, but as a part owner in a Lan cafe I would prefer to not have our customers keeling over at the computers.

It isn't very good for business.

So while I cannot stop a person killing themselves, I can at least stop them from doing it at my cafe and for the good of the industry every cafe owner should want to do this.

Yes, in the end it is up to the person playing the game, but not in my cafe.

As an owner of a Lan cafe' it is 100% your call if the person gets booted or not , and i feel that you should be able to say hey jack time to leave. However, the governemtn should not tell you that (the owner or the user), and other people should not tell you that. As a owner you have the right and principle to run that establishment in the way you see fit (with-in legal bounds), so of course you can make a rule saying only 8 hours log in periods, or whatnot. But the government shouldn't and the public should not.

And i rather disagree with the bussiness aspect, maybe in the US or Europe, but many Asian countries have vast usage of ICs that you don't see in the US and rarely in Europe. Look up soem pics of them , that tells me enough. They are kinda like the mcdonals of the the coputer world , hehe.

That ebign said i can't see how having 10-20 people + that never leave bad for bussiness. I mean few may die every year in china , but that chance of it being in your establishment is so very low and beyond that kickign them out after 8 hours would net you about 1/2 as less income from them. Sorry but its easy to say bad for bussiness , but the logistics do not point this way.  I could be wrong on this next part but i bet that those IC are up to close to regular usage in a  weeks time, despite this. This could be different for your area however.

Gaming Intoxication As Injurious As The Other Intoxications That Kill Lives.

Well I am a computer nerd. I started playing games as a bit of remedy to my boredom and soon found myself into this game world. Soon I made my way into the world of Mmorpgs. From then I have started loosing friends and all the near and dear ones. For me the world became a lonely planet and the only friends left were inside the games. I do not know if this is death but it seems whenever I am unable to be online I am at a mess and I am so damn pissed with life. Strange but true I really would prefer to be a mage or a healer in some online gaming world than the human I am. I wonder where it will take me but over all these years I have faced a few health problems that I would like to quote.

In year 2005 while playing anarchy online and trying to level my character to the highest level I almost played over a month as if I am lost in that world. The health troubles started right after that month. I was lazy to wake up from bed and if also I woke up I was unable to go out or do the shopping or my activities that I must as a human. Some time later I started to consume more water than I usually did and when I use to go hungry I was unable to wait for food to come. Thank God I live in a third world country where servants are available and I could get my food delivered right beside my computer table. Soon I found that the job that I do for money and been doing it since do not know when became extremely difficult. Hehe , I am doing this job for so long that by now it should be a piece of cake but I started thinking the weird things like , oh God , “ why don’t you let me play a game I like”. After a few weeks of this life seemed to me like a game and I completely lost the soft self I had. I started to consider me as a character without the ability to log off from this game of life even if I want to. Well my miseries went further than this. Some way down a shrink visited me as I was reported away from work for over a month and my neighbors never found me leaving the house. My phone conversations ended up in the most uninteresting fillers like “Hmms” and “Ahas “. Any party invitation would have got an answer like “I will try my level best to reach there “. In reality I never reached there as the gaming world found me a way better and a comfortable place rather than the posh pubs or the restaurants.

Soon the Mmorpg market came flooding with many games and I thought of trying them all. I spent all my earnings on these games and soon I was forced to cut down expenses on the necessary items for example neatness and cleanliness of my washroom. My house started to look like a mess.

Well I haven’t died, but is this a life? Do not know yet, what games do this and there is no way I can care better for me but by playing games.

Those who have died must have pushed them far enough and the younger you are the more the strength of the addiction.

I was once been able to talk to a 18 year old girl from my country in a game world and that will be Rappelz. I asked her, “Why do you play games?” The answer was shocking.

“She told me that entertainment like a Mmorpg for a month costs as much as a buffet launch for an afternoon”. So basically this is a very cheap form of entertainment compared to the other entertainments available on monetary grounds. She further added that this entertainment makes you participate rather than the television and movies which we see daily and all about receiving and nothing to do with participation and delivery.

Well the world is changing no doubt and Mmorpgs are not to be blamed for it. Nobody is to be blamed for it. It’s just that these games really consume your energy more than other activities.

But for the body, this is a poison as the body is yet not developed to sustain this level of interesting things and this level of intriguing and intimidating activity.

Oh well I still play for the maximum amount I can devote and may be someday I will die from it but I will still feel happy as right before death I was laughing the cruel sarcastic laughter that I generated from PvPing another gamer.

I believe those stories of people dieing as these games can really kill and unfortunately these games are going to kill the population of new dimension seekers and very interesting and fast paced people. The gaming world is the fastest world and the most interesting world I have yet found in my life.

If its death through fun, let it come, I am waiting, LoLz.

    Cheers.

    Cheers
