Dont get me wrong i love dark fall but please tell me why everyone HATES Darkfall so much.........
Comments
The only hate I've seen is extreme annoyance whether or not it will ever be released. Early calls for beta testers several years ago prompted it and now many folks are skeptical that Adventurine can really pull it off.
But few people hate the game or its features (well, except for the PVE crowd...but that's to be expected)

"This is the most intelligent, well qualified and articulate response to a post I have ever seen on these forums. It's a shame most people here won't have the attention span to read past the second line." - Anon
My speculation is honestly that these just might be people who either are just slamming Darkfall for fun, or they're paid individuals from some unknown company to get rid of possible competition, though like I said that's just speculation, I wouldn't get worked up over it, in the end they'll still be wanting to play the game because there hasn't been a decent skill based MMORPG released in years since Pre-Cu SWG that offered what Darkfall is planning for.
I personally feel sorry for the folks who thought this game was going to be released in two years, it doesn't happen, they need to go and do some research on just how much time and money has to be put into a game like this, they don't really have a right to be that frustrated about beta release anyway, I can understand with something like AoC or WAR which really are a lot simpler compared to Darkfall, but for this? Nah...
Quoting people doesn't make you clever, in fact, it makes you all the more stupid for not bothering to read the quotes you post in the first place.
i don't hate Darkfall.
I'm an old UO and pre-cu/NGE SWG vet.
I like skill based systems...
but I also like traditional MMORPG combat.
I HATE HATE HATE FPS combat in a MMO. I play FPS games like Halo 3 for that, or action games like Dark Messiah.
MMO's need (in my opinion) RPG combat systems of dice rolls and hit chances etc. in order to be called MMORPGs.
This can easily be done with skill based advancement systems.
That is why I will not play Darkfall.
By the way I reported the OP for trolling, as this topic is the biggest trolling I have ever seen.
Making a thread called "What the Hell is up with people" is the most obvious troll ever. Sorry dudeski.
its a legit question if oyu dont like mmo gmae with out dice roll then dont come here lol
! thread about it doesnt hurt anything
its not hate, just like the above posts said, players just get frustrated of waiting. Maybe just saying all the negative things can prevent DF of doing a VG.....
RIP Orc Choppa
it would have been a legit question if asked in a proper, respectful way that complied with the terms of service.
in the manner the post was written and the thread was titled it gaurantees flaming/trolling
notice this thread was the OPs first post? easy to imagine someone created a dumby account and wrote this troll post
anyway...
The reason so many people are so vocal in their dislike for Darkfall is because so many more are so vocal about their fanatical love and desire for this game.
To put it in MMORPG.com terms, the fanbois brought on the haters, and the cycle of flame posts just continues to build and build.
For every "i hate darkfall" poster there is a "stfu carebear" DF fanboi and it just goes on and on and on...
All my WoW playing friends hate DF.
They think open PvP and empire building is stupid and it wont work....(in WoW).
And they hate it because there is no clear path for your character to advance in. They wants to be heroes from the first login.
Noone will be a hero in DF. Maybe if you are really smart and skillfull......and my WoW friends really hate that.
He he...
*gasp*... you actually have to THINK and use TACTICS in order to play this game?! *gasps and faints*
.... Yes I was being sarcastic by the way.
Quoting people doesn't make you clever, in fact, it makes you all the more stupid for not bothering to read the quotes you post in the first place.
TO THE OP
Dude learn how to spell first. Second the crowd that likes this game is the UO crowd that DOES WANT SKILL BASED SYSTEMS. With that being said... What the hell are you talking about? This is the most misinformed dumbass post I have ever seen and the fact that anyone entertained it makes me want to stab myself in the face with a lobster fork.
Never post again.
Why a 'lobster' fork? Do they have special face stabing l33tne55?

The person who is certain, and who claims divine warrant for his certainty, belongs now to the infancy of our species.
In fact, yes. If you are skillful enough to hit the mouth you get extraordinary taste bonus.
Thats an interesting question. Lobster forks may quite possibly be the best face stabbing fork next to the pitch fork since the dawn of forks..
Needless to say DF, what can I say other then show me. I don't believe they're going to deliver what they offer, plain and simple. Open PVP where "nobody is safe" is going to get really old REALLY fast. Lots of crying, lots of wasted time. The idea ultimately is a good one though. Right now with all the games that have come out in the past and alot of what games are now, it just makes alot of people disappointed- between what games promise and what they really turn out to be.
Hype it all you want but you're just going to get your hopes up. Right now I'm beta testing certain games that shall remain nameless that are being hyped up quite a bit, but that doesn't mean they are going to be everything people think they will be.
Look at all the TR hype, and now alot of the people who expected it to be something its not are getting mad and downtalking the game just because it didn't meet their expectations. It doesn't mean it's a bad game, it just means that it's not what they expected. So setting the expectation bar is nice and all, but I'd rather say the game sucks and be wrong then say the game is awesome and be wrong, at least then I won't get my hopes up.
The reason why DF will work is because it isn't the typical linear game like Vanguard, WOW etc. People say that open FFA PvP wont work but this is completely wrong. This game will cater for all the players out there who are sick of the linear based mmo's with no real way to influence your environment.
EVE has proven that this can work. I remember when it came out there were loads of critics because they said there was nothing to do. Now there are corporations with hundreds of players controlling vast systems and having epic battles. Players have made this game not the developers.
Players who love WOW, Vanguard and the like probably will hate DF and not play it but for the rest of us it is exactly what we want. So fans of DF really cant tell WOW fans that this is the best game ever and vice versa. Its a completely different type of MMO and you cant compare them.
what I do is usually jsut visit the official forums. I never bother here. games I really like I just visit their official forums and interact with their community.
people saying they come to troll all because 'someone called them a carebear'. lol, get real. I would never waste time with a community that hates me and what I stand for. you dont see me trolling LOTRO, WoW, EQ2, etc. I dont belong there and have better things to do with my life then that
people that use the 'excuse' they hate Darkfall all because we can aim our own attacks and dodge are just making up excuses. There are many single player RPGs that have these elements and upcoming MMOs (spellborn, age of conan, Hellgate London, huxley, etc). single player RPGs - Elder scrolls oblivion, Mass Effect, Jade Empire, and the list just goes on and on.
Truth is it is ignorant to say RPG/FPS cant work. totally devoid of any experience with other genres. Its people like that holding back this industry
edit- I'm sorry I'll support any game trying to grow a pair and move forward.
visit the official forums, Class dismissed
Then why are you here?
I like these forums better than the official forums because they are impartial. The official forums are so overrun by fanboys that you can't have a real discussion there.
In these forums you can have a real discussion about the positives and the negatives of a game.
I only came here to check an old poll I posted and yep, people were arguing bout anything
so much better to post at official boards that's where everyone is seriously

Much like these forums are overrun by vaporware sayers that it creates the same thing.
You can discuss the positives and negatives there but no one does its usually one person bashing the fanbase.
Actually these forums are pretty balanced between the fanbois and the trolls

I would only call a couple of people on the forums fanbois most are usually in the middle and there has been more vapor-sayers on the forum than fanbois.
(Also as to not cause confusion someone supporting DF != fanboi)
Do not, try to make DF seem like the ultimate MMO by stating it as the antithesis to a generally disliked game. Or by stating that a specific group of generally disliked group are opposed to it for that matter. If you want to promote a game, do it on actual credit. Just state what it has, and state what it hasn't. Instead of holding up bronze chain next to a rope.

Some people really do hate skill based combat just like there are people who believe the world is flat. As ridiculous as it may seem to you it doesnt mean that people dont believe in it.

The posts run about 50/50 here. People like you, xris375, daarco, elitexion, post so much it ends up about even.

Umm, actually here I agree with you. Except with your obviously sarcastic finish. The only people who I find "fanbois" are those who defend a game zealously. If you bash another game like WAR or AoC because there isn't PvP anywhere, any time, any way and call it care bear, I find that Fanboi. Not that I have seen you personally make any of those comments, but many have. If you support DF, and are genuinely or artificially moderate in your comments and views, then you are a fan. I don't obsess about RvR in WAR or GvG in AoC, because I'm a cynical bastard, and assume that each will only be good at best. If DF were to come out I probably wouldn't get it for a couple of reasons, but it does look like it has the potential to be a good game. Anyways back on to my topic then. The difference between fan and fanboi is "I prefer the idea of a skill based system" and "Class based systems are just developers taking the easy way out, and conforming to the casual majority". Another example being "I think that a FPS combat system would increase the pace of the combat" and "Wait, attack, wait, attack, combat is for people with no skill. It has no merit and just prolongs the grind". That's the difference. I have seen DF fans who are actually fans, but the majority seem to be fanatics.

I know that some people may dislike it, I just find it hard to believe that "All my WoW playing friends hate DF." I mean, you'd think that even one may have either not heard of it, disagreed with it, or actually like it. Then again, he may only have 2 WoW friends. In which case saying what he said would lean the semantics in his favor, by using sensationalism. That's one of those things though that really get me angry. I just find it hard to believe that every single one of his friends who play WoW hate. As for the last comment in which I said "Again I really doubt that your WoW friends actually hate skill based combat." I should have phrased it " ...I really doubt all your WoW friends...". That I apologize for.

I dont know what was sarcastic about the finish since "!=" means "not equal to" was that what you were talking about? Yes some seem to be fantacal.
