just for explanation not flaming. i ve talked this "name server" issue with my cousin who is a computer engineer and working in this sector for about 10 years. he said name servers are kind of programs to guidance the IPs all over the world to a spesific website, for example typing www.mmorpg.com by anyone all over the world, first sending data to name servers and these turning this data to IP number so the browser can reach the target website. so many websites can use same name servers but usually similiar ones using he said. I told him the whois action about lucasartsbioware.com shows us a proxy server as registant so we cant know who is behind it, but shows the name servers clearly. he said if the name server info is certain then most probably the source of this action is same. he underscored if this is a guy who try to fool or fake people then he is using same name servers with bioware. he said name servers have huge capacity and this is a possiblity but not too much. i will search on this issue more.
and this, posted by sabiosu , interesting point about Warhammer Online ;
And indeed the lucasartsbioware.com redirects to bioware.com
Was the same way that the title for warhammer online was discovered. At first only the Acrynoms were given out (W.A.R) and the smart people found the registry domain thingy to be "WARHAMMER AGE OF RECKONING".

Solaris...defender of KOTOR. I would almost guess you work at BioWare given the amount of facts you are presenting.
lol. no man just checking and searching almost everyday, since march 2006 and i even haven't play any games for 4-5 years , this became an obsession for me
lol so much for their unique and original IP then, unless they have another IP that lucas arts is involved in but thats unlikely.
Hope the mmo doesnt suck as much as the console game did, i dont care tbh what people say a good story you can get from a book it is nice to have a game with a good story but not at the expense of good gameplay, which KOTR does not have. Hopefully they spend as much time on the core gameplay as they do on the story line or we will end up with another lord of the rings online.
The rumour is not confirmed, it IS how ever confirmed they are doing something with Lucas Arts. Did they say MMO? NO they said Interactive Entertainment (no one calls MMO's that as far as I've ever read, they do how ever call games using motion sensors or camera products Interactive, maybe they're doing stuff for the Wii involving Lightsaber action or something) it could honestly be anything. Did they say Star Wars? No! Not a peep on what genre or IP it even is. Infact they didn't say anything about an IP lisence which if they did it would indicate a change in their liscencing agreement (they only had a liscence to create the KOTOR world for single player games not MMOs as far as Ive ever read). Did they mention MMO's at all? Yes at the Bottom as a list of current OTHER projects that Bioware Has, but they in no way shape or form said or even made it appear that its their project. Does it mean there's no Kotor Game? No! Until clear word on the game's IP comes out I'm not holding my breath..though I am cleaning my shoe since I said almost a year ago I'd eat it if they make a Star Wars MMO. I just want to be prepared incase it does happen, not that I'll be mad because anything Bioware Makes = Game I want badly.
I want a Bioware MMO..I don't care if its Kotor or Fantasy or what ... if its Bioware I'm going to try it out and any true long time bioware fan would give whatever MMO they do come out with a shot before crying boo hoo its not the genre I wanted.
Please Refer to Doom Cat with all conspiracies & evil corporation complaints. He'll give you the simple explination of..WE"RE ALL DOOMED!
No matter what the game may be, this flies in the face of everyone who claimed that BioWare would never be working with LA again due to Electronic Arts.
No matter what the game may be, this flies in the face of everyone who claimed that BioWare would never be working with LA again due to Electronic Arts.
Not necessarily. Due to the wierd wording of the press release (which could also be due to SOE's contract for SWG not being over yet) this could possibly be an interactive program for the new Star Wars TV show.
Although it is most likely that the new MMO will be a Star Wars game it isn't for sure.
Currently playing: LOTRO & WoW (not much WoW though because Mines of Moria rocks!!!!)
Looking Foward too: Bioware games (Dragon Age & Star Wars The Old Republic)
elvenangel: How does it taste ? i mean your shoes. LoL
There's no words anywhere in any of those postings by Lucas Arts that says "Star Wars' or KOTOR so...I've not tasted my shoe yet. You guys are always jumping to conclusions with every game and every release and then you cry foul or freak out when its not what you thought. Honestly i'd be surprised if Lucas Arts did business relations suicide by releasing another Star Wars MMO while they're still in liscence agreement with SOE who is by far NOT a small company and would take something like that completely serious.
Eitherway Bioware MMO no matter the title = a game I want. I get tired of people assuming I'm against Bioware in some way shape or form. I am an RPG elitest and Bioware has always done us RPG players well (even if I didn't care for Neverwinter Nights that much at first), so whatever game they make sci fi, fantasy, western who cares...I look forward too it.

Doesn't matter what type of game/product it will be--it's still essentially EA working with LA, which so many were adamant would be an impossibility.
And this is why you ignore the pseudo contract specialists on MMORPG.com "But EA wouldn't buy Bioware if they had a contract with another publishing firm like Lucas Arts"
I never really understood that particular statement...EA'd be nuts to pass up a chance to make money with Lucas Arts in some shape or form even if LA 'publishes' it Bioware is part of EA now so any contract that Bioware makes money off of EA makes money off of and thats exactly how they like it. Making money.
My statement how ever is completely plausable. Depending on whatever magical paper work LA has signed with SOE they could get sued if the contract covers any and all Star Wars MMO games (which honestly from my opinion would be idiocy if SOE didn't cover their backsides even Mythic covered that area by getting the liscence to the Warhammer Fantasy Online game titles, so 40k has to go to someone else but no one else can make a Warhammer Fantasy online game). I'll never state this sort of stuff as pure fact , i'll say its a fact if it is a fact with presentable evidence so far there's no presentable evidence in my opinion that screams KOTOR online. (I'm not against it so why are some of you so damn offended by opinions that are based in reality instead of some bizarre fantasy land or are you all that naive on how business's work? You always act like someone slapped you in the face with a fish when companies do stuff like merge or cancel products..)
btw i never said Bioware would never work with LA because its a part of EA now.
Please Refer to Doom Cat with all conspiracies & evil corporation complaints. He'll give you the simple explination of..WE"RE ALL DOOMED!
I figure they probably announced this partnership due to the large amount of speculation that has been flying around the past couple of weeks. However, I'm not surprised that they STILL do not want to come out and say what the product is (although it probably is the MMO).
LA is trying hard to hype The Force Unleashed right now, so they're being careful not to reveal too much about this BioWare thing, to keep interest in TFU.
We won't get official confirmation of the title until TFU is released.
Things are looking up! Still not sure whether it is a Star Wars/KotOR MMO or something along the lines ofMASS EFFECT.
none of the reports say its going to be an MMO either.
In fact, none of the reports even say what platform theyre designing it on. It does seem to be a new agreement though, which is odd for an MMO theyve been design planning since 2005
Could be KotOR 3 single player Xbox 360 exclusive at this point
"If you want a picture of the future, imagine a robot foot stomping on a human face -- forever."
I understand people doubting that this has something to do with the MMO. "Interactive Entertainment Product" could be anything. And those three words certainly don't fill me with any confidence. Bioware does have another unannounced project in their midst other than the MMO that this could very well be about.
I will say that the language in the rest of the press release does give me some hope though. It's written to sound like someone so arrogant as to be talking about an MMO that's so much better than all other MMO's that it deserves to have its own description.
"...will be developed and published by BioWare and LucasArts, and will push the boundaries of the gaming market by utilizing the strengths of both companies to deliver an innovative, high-quality experience."
Sounds like an MMO to me.
“LucasArts has a deep commitment to developing compelling stories and characters for the unique medium of interactive entertainment, and we have been searching for a developer that shares this value..."
“Through our previous collaborations, we know that BioWare has an impressive ability to blend gripping stories with technological advancements, and we believe that our upcoming product will deliver an experience that will span the traditional boundaries of video game entertainment.”
The language is just too vague to be absolutely certain one way or another. I mean...what exactly is "interactive entertainment"? Aren't all videogames "interactive entertainment"?
well why would they make such a fuss about not announcing kotor 3?
logic seems to dictate its an mmo and they cannot provide any specifics due to swg, at least not until the last expansion goes to sale i guess
Subscribtions: EVE, SWTOR WOW, WAR, DDO, VG, AOC, COV, FFXI, GW, RFO, Aion +plenty of F2P, betas, trials
Female Dwarf player: WOW, VG, WAR, DDO . Due to the recent economic crisis and spending cuts the light at the end of the tunnel was turned off. Sincerely, God.
If it were not KOTOR ONLINE, they would have already said so....why risk making everyone mad! If it's not a STARWARS game and they know the entire world is expecting one, They wouldn't keep that to theirselves. They know the suspense is building and they are going to give us what we want. My guess is a week or two after the release of Mass Effect
LOL...and the mature Star Wars fanbase continues to show their age and intellect. P.S. C3PO and R2D2 were considered gay characters by most people with half a brain.
Right, but that was just a gay fanstasy just like they want to consider Frodo and Sam gay. This here is the author of the series desclaring her character gay. It's like George Lucus standing in front of a gay parade and announcing that his robots are gay. LOL Can it get any sillier? P.S. I'm not a fan of either. /smacka!
Things are looking up! Still not sure whether it is a Star Wars/KotOR MMO or something along the lines ofMASS EFFECT.
Excuse me while I kiss the sky... probability of a new Star Wars MMORPG just shot waaaaaaaay up. Now if only they'd stop with the cleverly crafted language and just come out with whatever the game really is. Soon... gotta be soon Thanks Ssnautilus.
Why do I write, create, fantasize, dream and daydream about other worlds? Because I hate what humanity does with this one.
Being "Interactive entertainment", I can only surmise that it is, in fact, going to be an Online Indiana Jones Chose Your Own Adventure (TM). Featureing an aging Harrison Ford, as he wheezes, and shuffles through the jungles of Borneo as he searches for herbal viagra.
