No offense, but no matter how many times they try to print it, shout it, paint it, type it, say it, HG:L is not an mmo.

In so many words...it is a good Action title...and I sure have been needing that...something I can play for an hour, and move on...
And if I feel the need for the extra's offered with online, then I can pay later..
Overall it is meant to be a mindless clickfest, and that in my book is cool...and way better than Tabula Rasa...the MMO wannabe
    Cheers!
Everyone always tries to compare one thing or another to Tabula Rasa, what a joke. This is a completely different game.  So far I've played both Tabula Rasa and the demo on Hellgate London.  I gotta say between the two games, right now I had more fun in Tabula Rasa, and the reason is, because of the increased difficulty in TR, I get more of a challenge. Alot more mobs, and alot more need for strategy.  Thats not to say when the full version of HGL comes out, that it won't be tougher, have much more depth, and be a better game overall. I'm just saying from what I've see personally between the two, TR would be my choice just from the 2 beta tests.

I do agree that TR has gotten boring in the last couple months I've been playing it, but then again TES Oblivion got boring after a month or two of playing it,, I probably will end up getting HGL, and more then likely after getting bored with that, going back to TR, granted they added a bit more content I haven't seen yet.

I think it is the fact I don't have to pay a monthly fee...so if I get bored with HGL, then I can turn it off.

Big difference, and makes HGL better...in my opinion

Im getting put off buying hgl after reading all this negativity, but Im also wondering if these peoples opinions are of the demo rather than the actual beta?because the demo was pretty crappy, extremely short and easy, yet I enjoyed the gameplay a lot.Im an FPS fan anyway, especially if I can have a persistant character that I can customise.

The p2p options look very poor however so i cant honestly see myself wanting to pay a monthly fee.

There will be a flood of negativiy for this game on these forums...1. its not really a MMO 2. Most people have only played the Demo, which sucks.

Since it's not under NDA any longer:

To all people who are missing the hordes of enemies and feel the game is too easy. Go do a 2 player (thats right, invite a friend to group) run of Leicester Square to Charred Cross Station. By the time you hit St.Martin's you'll be thinking twice before rushing off into a mob.

Remember, if you play it solo the game bases the dungeon around the fact that your with 1 player. If you play it with more people, and 1 runs off into a horde of enemies he's pretty much dead.

Just seen this in the first patch notes:

    "Bigger Levels in Nightmare Mode

These increase the time players get to spend in each area, giving the game a more expansive feel at higher difficulty levels. "

    "Subscriber Features

    Elite Mode

This is for those players that always feel a game is too easy. The demons are tougher, deal out more damage, move faster, travel in larger groups, and have more champions at the ready. Numerous tweaks to the overall balance and progression of the game make this an extremely challenging mode.

    Hardcore

Hardcore mode takes away the various resurrection options. For the gamer that wants the ultimate test, try playing an Elite Hardcore character! "

shame 2 of the modes are for subs only :-(

I just played the demo myself too and I like it. But it was pretty easy only the "boss" mobs were kind of thought. This is the one game what I wait to play on PC (the other is crysis sorry I have to say that).

    LOL! So true!

Better yet,  go into a portal called "Ancient Blood" and see what happens. You'll see a few of these on your way to Embankment Approach.
