Well I'm surprised to find myself saying this because I'd been one to always bash L2 for its botting in the past... And I don't know if it's just the timing or what, but I recently came back and the trains I used to see constantly running in DEV and out around the Swamp were nowhere to be found. Same in the Dwarven Village. This is in over 2-3 weeks time so far. I haven't seen one. I'm pretty blown away. A couple people in a new clan I'm in have reassured me that they'll be back, that NC had just recently done a banning, but so far, I haven't seen any. Also, in the cats. I wanted to go pick up a G/R/B seal stone so I could start buying 'em back and was, again, assured that I wouldn't be able to find a single free mob, nevermind a room, in a Cat/Necro. I decided to try anyway... Went down into NoS and went through at least 3 rooms that were empty. No bots. Not even any players. So if it is just a "down-time" 'til the bots are all re-upped and leveled, then it's lasting a while. Longer than I ever remember it lasting.
what server do you play on? ever figuried that your server is pretty much empty so it mean's less people is ebaying, so less farmers its simple .
on Teon they pretty much every where cause it still has a okay population
I play on Gustin currently and, while it's not one of the more heavily populated servers, I still see plenty of people around. All the usual spots are teeming; Giran is still a maze of private shops to navigate, etc.
I've created toons on other servers, as well, to see how they were, including Siegehardt, etc. Similarly, I saw no bot trains in the lowbie areas there either.
Fewer bots due to lower population is one thing.. but that a lower pop would result in no bots at all? I think that's a stretch.
It might well be that I just caught it on the tail-end of a mass banning, but it's been almost 3 weeks now since I rolled on Gustin, and still no bot trains, in DEV, in EV or in DV. It took them about 1.5 weeks in the past to get back up to speed.
yere okay off course ncsoft is gonna ban well over half they player base, i suggest you start up a toon on Franz where 90% off the population bot's it shoulden't be hard for you to relaise that ncsoft dosen't care.
You know what... save the sarcastic comments. They're unfounded.
i was serious, you reached the conclusion that ncsoft banned all the farmer's cause you coulden't find any...
You seem to be confusing "not seeing them in the areas I used to see them in all the time" with "omg NCSoft banned all the bots!" They have two different meanings. I also state that perhaps I came back on the tail end of a banning *or* that perhaps they've changed tactics and do their thing elsewhere. Nowhere do I state "NCSoft have banned all the bots". Did you even read everything I typed?okay my bad i have a bad habit off useing the word all, all the time but you said your friend's said they did ban farmer's when they woulden't really know. I've played L2 well long enough to know how the botting situation is and has been. I don't need you or anyone else to "fill me in" on what it's like or should be like. I've done my fair share of reporting and bitching about the problem myself over time. I've also never contested that NCSoft "cares more about botting now than they did". I'm only reporting what I've seen myself. The reasons are whatever they are. im just diseagreeing with you because.
1, the Teon server still has many farmer infested spots.
2, you know that the supcription off players has been up over 100.000? and it's probly down at 60.000-70.000 now but if i had to guess i say it's more like 40.000-50.000 so your server is probly pretty emty witch mean's less player's that ebay's Fewer players would mean fewer bots. Not a complete lack of them. I'm not denying that you see farmers in other areas... Again, I never said they were gone completely. I was merely stating that *I don't see them in the spots they used to always be in*. I don't know the exact reason for that, which is why, again, I offered a couple possibilities, as I stated above. again my word all I played L2 in Beta, in Prelude and then on and off through C1-C2, then played at the start of C3 on up 'til just before C5 landed. I know very well what the bot situation was like. I remember very well seeing armies of dwarven clones running around DEV on perfectly pre-set patterns. I remember going out to the swamp-lands and they were everywhere. It was impossible to get to a single zombie or bat without having at least 1 other bot, more often two, going for the same one. I remember seeing them many other places. i startet out in C1 first and yere it was pretty annoying back then, but it still is or depending on your server i guess. I told you.. I started a toon on several servers, including the more populated ones like Bartz and Siegehardt... *and* Franz, as you indicated... I saw the same thing in the same usual spots... *no farmers*. Again, I do not claim anywhere that they are gone completely, merely notably missing from the areas that they used to swarm. There should be a pattern developing. its not that Franz has the most farmer's i guess that would be Teon it just has the most player's who bots I remember one particularly bold RMT group openly holding Baium hostage - killing anyone who would even try to get near him - even for a quest. I remember having to clear out rooms, no matter how far in you went, to be able to xp in a Cat or Necro. I remember seeing them swarming many other areas on a regular basis. I've "forcefullynegotiated" with plenty of them, going red more than a few times in the process. at some places it's like that on Teon I also remember after NCSoft had done a banning, you didn't see them anywhere for about 1.5-2 weeks. The price of mats skyrocketed as people had to start gathering their own materials. I remember people pissed off at NC for banning them because "now the prices are ridiculous". This was the point at which I realized the bots officially "owned" Lineage 2 and had the player-base in the palm of their collective hand. I've never held any illusions otherwise since; I've learned to deal with it and just play the game, reporting or otherwise dealing with them as they get in my way. im not saying they never cared about bot's im just saying they no longer do. I've been there through all of that. I don't need to be "reminded" or "educated". I also know what I see now when I log in... to any server. Again, perhaps it's in a lull between bannings or something and the bots aren't up to speed. Perhaps they've changed their tactics and don't hang out in the usual spots anymore. What I know is what I see. And what I've seen for the past few weeks since I've been back is a notable absence of the bot trains that used to overflow numerous areas. I'm in the US so I wouldn't play on a Euro server. However, since you mentioned it. I made a character on Franz... a DE.. and ran out to DEV, where I used to see non-stop trains of automated dwarves, 24/7.. Guess what? Not one in sight. Would you like me to take a screenshot? Or perhaps you can go out there yourself and see. I dare say that if I were to go to the other spots I used to see them in, they wouldn't be there either. what's DEV btw ? DEV = Dark Elven Village. EV = Elven Village. DV = Dwarven Village. TI = Talking Island. And so forth... So really... save the comments. I'm not some wet-behind-the-ear newbie to this game without a basis for what I say. K? Thx. no, you telling they banned all your farmer's on your server and im disagreeing with you Wrong. I never said that. Stop putting words in my mouth. quete

yere im useing the word all, all roung sry. For the last time:
- I do not see them in the places I used to see them in - in large numbers - all the time.
- I conceded that I might have just come back on the tail end of a banning and they haven't had a chance to regather themselves.
- I offer the possibility that perhaps they simply no longer use those spots anymore and have moved on to other areas.
- I note how I finally just gave in to the fact that the RMT owns L2 and just deal with them when I have to. Not a single one of those comments indicates any belief that NC have banned all farmers. I have no idea how you come to that conclusion. All it means is - and please read this part - I do not see them in the areas I used to see them in on a regular basis. Thus, at least in those areas, the botting has decreased. I have gotten up to 35 so far on a new toon and have not run into a single bot, nor even a party.. nevermind the swarm of them that I used to deal with. Interpret that as you will... It is what it is.
okay so to get it stragiht thoes farmer's you no longer see at the usal spot's are probly not banned just left, because the player pouplation has decreased and less people ebay.
Well I'm surprised to find myself saying this because I'd been one to always bash L2 for its botting in the past... Well... your last statement there rings of you somehow having possession of knowledge above and beyond what I or others might have. If you do, then by all means, share. Failing that, I'll chalk your assessment up to speculation.
NCSoft *has* done bannings in the past. Do they do them enough? Not nearly. I know I was around for at least one of them. So it's not like it's some overblown idea that they might have done another one recently. Again, in fact, the leaders of my clan - who've been playing non-stop since Beta and are very aware of what a banning is - responded to my noting the lack of bots by sayign that they did a banning recently, but not to get too used to it, because they'd likely be back.
Whatever the case.. it is what it is. At least for new players, they can (for now) level up new characters in relative peace.
look at your own statement or your friend's... but i never said they never did care about bot's im just saying they no longer do.
I dont really have proof but look at the subscriber's they been over a 100.000 and last i saw it 6 months ago it was down to 60.000-70.000 it's probly even smaller know, and look at these link's

And my point still stands...
Who the hell cares why there are fewer bots? That is not what was being asked by the OP. It's abundantly obvious you see this as an opportunity to pounce on it as a way to "expose" NCSoft or whatever, but it remains irrelevant to the OP's question.
The OP was not asking "How much does NCSoft care about the bots?" Nor were they asking
"How much has an apparently declining player population affected the bots?"
They asked "How are the bots?"
To which I gave an accurate assessment of my personal experience, compared to how it used to be and, yes, a comment made by someone else playing the game to explain a possible reason why they might have declined.
But I'll say it one more time...
Who the hell cares *why* there are fewer. That is not what this thread was started to ask.
Good grief. Get over it already.
As for threads meaning more than one person's say-so. Wrong. There's no difference. A forum thread is a series of individual opinions. No matter how many there are, they're still personal opinions. A blog is a one-sided outlet for someone to express their opinion with limited feedback. In all cases, it's personal opinion. There is no difference.
The only people qualified to give empirical numbers on how many players there are, how many botters there are or why they may or may not have left are NCSoft and/or the botters themselves. Anything outside that is supposition, no matter how strongly you might feel about it.

That is not what this thread was started to ask.
cause it causes sevral problem's
1, the player pouplation is decreasing so it's harder to get party's
2, ncsoft dosen't care about bot's so most off the old player's just bot making it even harder to get party's
3, ncsoft dosen't care about bot's so wasting time reporting someone is worthless unleass your mass petintoning
Good grief. Get over it already.
he's not the only one who's gonna read theese post's, and i can post anything i want, besides i think its relevant to how the bot's are, for instance if Ncsoft startet doing they job's i would have mentioned that to cause in my book it's under the subject!
There is no difference.
when ever a new mmorpg comes out, the more negative post's then postive's i read about it, makes me not want to buy it and probly stay away.
The only people qualified to give empirical numbers on how many players there are, how many botters there are or why they may or may not have left are NCSoft and/or the botters themselves. Anything outside that is supposition, no matter how strongly you might feel about it.
yere sure NCsoft is gonna come out saying, come bot in our pvp game ganking afk enemy's...

3, ncsoft dosen't care about bot's so wasting time reporting someone is worthless unleass your mass petintoning Which is all still completely aside from what the OP asked. It's all your own personal opinion and/or experience and is not answering their question. You're spinning this into a completely different tangent which I can only deduce is based on some personal issue you've had with it. Regardless it still does not have anything to do with the OP's question. Let me put it this way... Which of this makes more sense: #1
A. I haven't seen any bots in the lowbie areas I've hunted/quested in lately. So it's not really bad at all, at least in those areas. Okay... time to be intellectually honest.. Which of those directly answers the question? If you chose anything other than 3, you fail. That said, I personally have had no trouble finding a party when I've wanted one. I've even been invited to group when I wasn't seeking one. Like.. 3 times yesterday, by 3 different people. So, that seems to be purely based on your own experience and, of course, is still irrelevant to the OP's question.
Oh, and by the way, bot groups are starting to form again in the lowbie areas; I've seen a party standing around in a couple of the starting areas. So perhaps my clan leader was correct about the bannings. Good grief. Get over it already. he's not the only one who's gonna read theese post's, and i can post anything i want, besides i think its relevant to how the bot's are, for instance if Ncsoft startet doing they job's i would have mentioned that to cause in my book it's under the subject! Sure you can post anything you want. It's more helpful to the OP when you actually stay on topic and actually answer their question, though. They're not asking about pet theories of whether NC cares or not. Yet that's what you're answering with. There is no difference. when ever a new mmorpg comes out, the more negative post's then postive's i read about it, makes me not want to buy it and probly stay away. Anything outside that is supposition, no matter how strongly you might feel about it. yere sure NCsoft is gonna come out saying, come bot in our pvp game ganking afk enemy's... Once again you completely miss the point. Or, at least, ignore it. The point isn't whether they would and I never claimed as much. The point is, they're the only ones who *could*. Difference. Thus, anything you say is purely your own opinion/theory. Not fact. And the way you "sum up" the game shows that you obviously:
A: Have something against the game, which was obvious after reading your second rant about how "NCDoesn't care and people are leaving and.. and.. and...'
B: Have had an experience with the game that, frankly, I and many others I know haven't. The game you describe, no one would play. Yet, millions do, world-wide. Wonder how that is?
If you've been afk ganked by someone, then it's your own fault for leaving yourself in a spot where it could happen. There are places you can't be attacked, you know. And if you do go afk in a spot where you're not safe, with no one else around to keep watch - in an open PvP game - well... that says it all right there. If you didn't learn and allowed it to happen again, well, you're obviously playing the wrong MMO.
I've been ganked while afk _once_. I realized the mistake of leaving myself vulnerable and made sure it would never happen again.

At the end of the day, who the hell cares why they're not there? Well, besides you obviously. The point is - they're not there. Period. You can quest or grind in relative peace. Maybe you do, but I don't know anyone who runs around worrying about "why there are no bots". They're usually just enjoying it too much to care. And with the Academy system now, it's not hard - at all - to find a clan to join early on. I was invited to one, on a brand-new server, within my first 15 levels. They did not ask how, or why, or whether NCSoft cares, etc. etc. They didn't ask about player populations. They asked a very simple question requiring a very direct answer. You are taking a very direct question and going off on a tangent about "oh well there might be fewer bots but it's not because NCSoft did any bans, it's only because there aren't enough players, because NCSoft doesn't care enough to deal with the bots anymore and so players left in disgust and so some botters gave up because there weren't enough people to buy the adena and so it's too difficult to find a party because there aren't enough people." I have passed the point of sounding like a broken record here and you have more than proven that you're still convinced that whether or not NCSoft cares or what the player population is is somehow a relevant answer to a question asking specifically about bots.
My recent experience is in line with WSIMike's. I am a former Beta and Prelude player who recently came back a few weeks ago now. I am on Lionna as I am a roleplayer, and I was very surprised to see that bots do not own the lower level areas like they did at launch. I have leveled two new Orcs through 25 and saw two bots in all the Orc lands during that time. Haven't seen bot number one in Elven or DE lands while leveling there the last week either. My dwarf has seen a few, as might be expected (but fewer than I can count on both hands) during a week on and off in Dwarf Village.
That is not to say other servers like Teon and Franz may not be bot heaven since they are consistantly in Heavy load, but Lionna where I play I haven't seen many honestly up through starter areas and around Gludio and Giran. I expected to fight with globs of em just to level, but it hasn't been an issue so far for me on this server.
Honestly even if the bots level has dropped on -some- servers there -is- still a lasting effect on the economy in terms of inflation...which is particularly hard on starting players who don't have a level 70 to finance them or a readymade clan of high level friends to hand them down nice items.
But then again, all games are seeing an increase in bots these days. I couldn't finish a number of quests in Zek on Antonia Bayle in EQ2 recently for days cause the bots groups owned the front of that zone for a week on my server. The problem is far wider spread these days than Lineage II. Don't expect to fully escape bots in online gaming no matter where you go. But for my personal experience on Lionna the last few weeks it's better than it used to be or than I expected.

Bingo.
Seems you and I are in agreement. Regardless of why they may or may not be there, the point is... they aren't there, at least in the lower levels. I'm too busy enjoying that fact to care about why that may or may not be. It's a direct answer to the OP's question; no wild, unsolicited theorizing required.
Okay... so it's been offered that "it's alot more difficult to find parties" - especially on a light server. Well, let's see...
- I was doing the Scavenger quest yesterday morning on my dwarven alt, and was offered by someone else in the area to party up.
- After completing the scavy quest, I was xp grinding/spoiling out in the dwarven area, and was offered by someone else in the area to group up.
- I was leveling a baby SE in the Dark Elven region yesterday afternoon and last night - someone else in the area, killing the same mobs asked if I wanted to party so we wouldn't be fighting over them.
That's 3 invites, on 2 two toons... in 1 day. Hardly seems like there's any trouble finding parties to me - and I wasn't even looking for one.
I was also asked if I wanted to join at least 2 different clans' academies - one of them being wartagged to my main clan lol.
It's worth noting, too, that while grinding, I saw several other people in the area, either grinding nearby, or running through; and I wasn't exactly in a "high traffic" spot. So, a "light population" doesn't necessarily indicate a "ghost town".
Also, despite the "light" population, members of my clan, leveled 75+, are having no problem finding spots to grind in - uninterrupted by bots - all day. Similarly, they have little trouble finding groups - for xp'ing, for raids,etc... including members both in and out of our clan/ally. So much for the "unless you're 75+, you don't really know" argument. There are people 75+, and they're not having trouble xp'ing either.
So... seems to me that *certain other people* are just too obsessed with seeing the glass half empty and getting emptier to realize that things aren't as bad as they portray. Despite what they think; reality simply doesn't share their point-of-view.
Anyway, glad at least one other person on here is happy to enjoy bot-free grinding without finding some negative spin on it.

That's not possible. Due to the lack of players in L2 now, it's very difficult to get parties. Just ask Sorrowho... He has the entire inside scoop on exactly why. Oh wait...
- After completing the scavy quest, I was xp grinding/spoiling out in the dwarven area, and was offered by someone else in the area to group up.

Well, as I wasn't responding to nor directly talking to you, there's incredible irony in that statement.
It's worth noting, too, that while grinding, I saw several other people in the area, either grinding nearby, or running through; and I wasn't exactly in a "high traffic" spot. So, a "light population" doesn't necessarily indicate a "ghost town".
true, i see people almost all the time when im out grinding but over half off em are bot's are you even sure they wearent on, walker, superman?
Yeah, cause, you know... anyone farming xp, spoiling or passing through an area is immediately suspect. Sure.
You sorta remind me of that saying "When all you have is a hammer, everything has to look like a nail".
Again, I wasn't talking to you in my last post, but I'll entertain that one, because you set yourself up so beautifully.
Let's see... one set had the tag of a well known clan/ally and were in Academy gear. Further, I've seen them talking in local chat with other live players. Pretty good indication they weren't using walker in my book. In the other case, I actually exchanged comments with them for a time, and they responded in kind. Compared to run-ins I've had with botters in the past, they were quite "alive and present".
So, yeah, I'm 99.9% sure they weren't just using walker. The .1% is allowing for the possibility that walker might have the ability to carry on dynamic and random conversation and supply well-formed and perfectly relevant and coherent responses 100% of the time.
Also, despite the "light" population, members of my clan, leveled 75+, are having no problem finding spots to grind in - uninterrupted by bots - all day. Similarly, they have little trouble finding groups - for xp'ing, for raids,etc... including members both in and out of our clan/ally. i said finding party's under 60 is hard, over that and it get's a lot easier
And I pointed out earlier, as an example of just one day of playtime, that I had 3 invites, and I'm well under level 60. Would you like me to run down additional examples?
Oh wait... that's right.. "How do I know they weren't using walker". Sorry... paranoid prejudice doesn't come naturally to me.
So... seems to me that *certain other people* are just too obsessed with seeing the glass half empty and getting emptier to realize that things aren't as bad as they portray. Despite what they think; reality simply doesn't share their point-of-view.

Yay.

here's a quete from amark_B
Hello Everyone!
For awhile now my friends and I have been looking for a new game other than WoW. WoW is a great game, however, once we reached 70 we were not satisified with just raiding as an end game. So, a few of us bought Lineage 2 and have settled on the Bartz server. Basically, if we approve of the game the rest will come. =pI am a bit worried since the only populations that said "heavy" were the two European servers. Does Bartz have a lot of players, possibly more? My friends and I do not really have a problem with the grind, and we can basically have our own group since we have a lot of people and a lot of classes. I would like to know if this game is actually worth investing the time into, or is it too late? Right now, we bought the game for $20 and were suprised to see that it not only came with a free month but an extra 15 day time card so that we did not have to use the extra game cards we had bought to play. So right now, I would really like to know if it is worth continuing to level 70+ or if it is better to invest our time into another game. Are we too far behind, or is it possible to catch up? I do not mind farmers and botters in a game, however I do not want to play a game where there are no players. Are there lots of players and are there new people coming to the game? Or is the game dying? Also, is it possible to do well as a legit player? The other game we are looking at is Everquest II, so if anyone knows anything about that, we would appreciate the feedback.
Also, can anyone tell me a little bit about the "swordsinger" class? I think it looks really cool, but I don't want to play a class where I can't solo. Is it possible to be a swordsinger and use a bow at times, and a sword at others? What is a good solo class? Also, some people in game told me if I make a "damage - caster type class" that I will need to have a class to "recharge" my mana. Something like that. Is that true?
Also, on Bartz how are the castle sieges? I have heard that on Teon server there can be 500 v 500 players. Is this also true for the Bartz server?
Any help / tips is appreciated.
P.S.
I heard that a guild called Uprising quit. Is this going to be good or bad for the server and the game?
after a few day's off playing ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- this game we have decided to quit, and I feel like I completely wasted my money. Fortunately, I only spent $20. In a few days we got to lvl 24 and tried to form a group for the necropolis of sacrifice. We spent about 3hours trying to get anyone for our group. Finally, we took what we have and tried to find a room in the necro. Then, a little dwarf runs into the room with like 12 guys on her. We try to help her, and we end up dying... Lineage 2 seems like a game with lots of potential, but we could find barely any players and the lower levels are filled with botters. In this game, the economy is terrible. We were having trouble trying to get a 16k weapon and then we get this token that sends us to giran. Things there are going for 30 million adena. I know lots of people are going to say we warned you. Now, I understand why. My warning to all other players considering this game, STAY OUT! end quete ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - After completing the scavy quest, I was xp grinding/spoiling out in the dwarven area, and was offered by someone else in the area to group up. - I was leveling a baby SE in the Dark Elven region yesterday afternoon and last night - someone else in the area, killing the same mobs asked if I wanted to party so we wouldn't be fighting over them. By the by, I did answer the OP, many posts back, with a direct personal account. You in turn launched into yourwild paranoid theories and suppositions about NCSoft not caring and so on. I've answered the OP directly. You have yet to come close.

nice going off topic about the OP's question again
Nice non-response. You're starting quite the collection here.

i never said that.
Do you even think through what you're typing, or do your fingers just fall where they may?
Start at the white paragraph above that I posted, and then read on from there. You insinuated that the people I saw could have been botting and, further, challenged me on how I knew they weren't. How else would you interpret that?
you dont wanna know what you remind me off
Wow. A non-response and lame pot-shot in one.
so you can go off topic but i can't ? Surprise! Another non-response. You are *really* grasping here. And I've already answered that assertion.

Wow. Two baseless suppositions in a row.
You are obviously way out in the weeds at this point. I think I'll just let you flounder there in peace.

nice going off topic about the OP's question again Nice non-response. im sure everyone else who's gonna play will have a hard time getting party's so either your exetremly lucky with getting party's all the time or your just lying.
You are obviously way out in the weeds at this point. I think I'll just let you flounder there in peace.
now your not making any sense, and you already said that once, lets see if you can keep what you say.
I've been following this thread since the beginning - and I think my eyes have bled enough now that I must chime in once again.
First of all, you BOTH need to learn how to quote/respond properly.
Insert a quote like so...
And respond like so...
This is much easier on the eyes...
than trying to sort through 5 million different colors to figure out who is saying what.
Second, Sorrowho, English is obviously not your first language and I respect you for learning and using it so well. However, you continuously take WSIMike's words out of context or completely twist the around all together. Many times, it seems like you're not even comprehending what Mike is saying, so please, stop trying to respond!
Mike said that in his experience there are not as many bots around as there used to be. This has been my experience as well (as I posted earlier in the thread.) Other people have come along and posted similar experiences.
Regardless, please, both of you - just let it die. You both have said the same things about 10+ times now. WSIMike, Sorrowho is just not going to get it, there's no point in continuously spelling it out for him. Sorrowho, we get it you think NCsoft sucks and doesnt care about bots. Great. Then /quit L2 and get on with your life. Or play L2 and shut up. I honestly dont care! Just stop already!
Seriously, a post like this one is so impossible for other people to read and follow that it doesnt even belong on a public forum. Take it to PMs if you want to continue your color-coded two-way conversation.
And finally, I will add something on topic (not because I have any hope that Sorrowho will comprehend it or even because I think this topic needs anything else added to it, but because the mods want posts that are on topic )
I am an Evas Saint. I quit the game a year ago (due to RL stuff) then came back a few months ago. In that time, Ive rolled 3 new characters on Bartz and taken them up to 40, also grinded a lowbie dorf on Lionna, as well as a SpS from 68 73 and also my EE. In that time, Ive been everywhere from TI to IT, EG to Saints and Ive seen very, VERY few bots. Yes, Ive seen some, but not nearly as many as I expected to, based on past experiences. Has botting been eliminated completely? Of course not. But it doesnt affect my ability to play or enjoy the game as I have yet to come across a bot in an area where I want to xp.
And finally, I would like to finish with a quote from the Original Post, which I hope (if anything) Sorrowho will read and understand:
Please dont just bash em, im not interested in bias opinions, just facts/clear observations

yere it was confusing cause it got qutede over and over, but if it's really only one time i don't think it's confusing at all.

if im doing that can you plz show me the example's, after my understanding he postet that his farmer's was banned and no where to be found for 3 week's.
Mike said that in his experience there are not as many bots around as there used to be. This has been my experience as well (as I posted earlier in the thread.) Other people have come along and posted similar experiences.
I responded saying they probly just left because the population is getting smaller and even less people need's to ebay, and they still there on Teon, so it woulden't make any sense to ban all the bot's on some server's but not do it on Teon.

any new player's reading mike's first post would probly belive ncsoft has startet caring about bot's, and the community but it's not like that and it never will be it was to late a long time ago stopping the bot's...

hey can read it anyway they want to, i just postet that Teon still has plenty off farmer infested spot's and the population on your server is decreasing Oh come on. Read back through your own posts here. You've said a lot more than that. To state the obvious: I've never argued about server populations. I've never debated whether NC cares. Neither of those things are what this thread was started to find out. I provided my personal experience so far. You're the one who then had to pick it apart for fear that, and I quote, "any new player's reading mike's first post would probly belive ncsoft has startet caring about bot's, and the community" I did not say at any time, "So obviously NCSoft has begun caring about the botting problem".You're the only one who seems to be (insisting on) taking it that way. and i never said you said that... -sigh- Okay, I'll spell it out plainly... I'm sure you're not. Nor do I care.
Once more, with feeling:
No one in this thread asked what you or anyone else believes about NCSoft or the player population. They asked for people's accounts of how the bots are. Answering a specific question with a specific answer is not that hard.

Originally posted by Sorrowho
what server do you play on? ever figuried that your server is pretty much empty so it mean's less people is ebaying, so less farmers its simple .
on Teon they pretty much every where cause it still has a okay population

Ncsoft dosen't care about bot's so the problem will not get better, just worse.
op will not be the only one reading this.
btw if you scroll up a few post's you see i already got your point off thinking the first time, so why do keep posting it?
As of last night, I dinged 36 on my Assassin whilst leveling down in Heretics (the one in the Execution Grounds).
There was a party of 4 of us working a room, about 3 rooms in, and in our time down there - 2-2.5 hours at least - no botting activity, no interruptions.
This is rather surprising as the cats and necros generally = "home" to RMT. If they were in there, it wasn't in the front-most rooms. Guess I'll find out as I get deeper in to the higher level rooms in there.
Reports from others are that a few of the other cats/necros are pretty much the same.
So, looks like the botting activity is pretty light at least up to 36 or so and in the cats/necros. Great news if you're someone looking to do some seal or scroll farming as well as get some good xp.

The higher you get, the more afk bot trains you'll see.
But once you get into 60+ cats the polearm farmers start to take over.
Instead of an afk bot train in every room, you have a warlord/destro in majestic heavy with a tallum glaive pulling 5 rooms at once. Almost invariably accompanied by both an SE and PP (botted).
The poler might be active but he is an RMT farmer no less.
Imo these guys are actually worse than afk bot parties because you have to go red on them, which usually requires 3 or more people because you have to keep up with the SE and PP auto-rezzes but don't want to rack up 20 PKs doing it.

Did you even read everything I typed?okay my bad i have a bad habit off useing the word all, all the time but you said your friend's said they did ban farmer's when they woulden't really know.I've played L2 well long enough to know how the botting situation is and has been.
2, you know that the supcription off players has been up over 100.000? and it's probly down at 60.000-70.000 now but if i had to guess i say it's more like 40.000-50.000 so your server is probly pretty emty witch mean's less player's that ebay's
Fewer players would mean fewer bots. Not a complete lack of them. I'm not denying that you see farmers in other areas... Again, I never said they were gone completely. I was merely stating that *I don't see them in the spots they used to always be in*. I don't know the exact reason for that, which is why, again, I offered a couple possibilities, as I stated above.
again my word all
I played L2 in Beta, in Prelude and then on and off through C1-C2, then played at the start of C3 on up 'til just before C5 landed.
There should be a pattern developing.
its not that Franz has the most farmer's i guess that would be Teon it just has the most player's who bots
I remember one particularly bold RMT group openly holding Baium hostage - killing anyone who would even try to get near him - even for a quest.
I remember having to clear out rooms, no matter how far in you went, to be able to xp in a Cat or Necro. I remember seeing them swarming many other areas on a regular basis. I've "forcefullynegotiated" with plenty of them, going red more than a few times in the process.
at some places it's like that on Teon
I also remember after NCSoft had done a banning, you didn't see them anywhere for about 1.5-2 weeks.
K? Thx.
no, you telling they banned all your farmer's on your server and im disagreeing with you
Wrong. I never said that. Stop putting words in my mouth.
quete
end quete
yere im useing the word all, all roung sry.
And I don't know if it's just the timing or what, but I recently came back and the trains I used to see constantly running in DEV and out around the Swamp were nowhere to be found. ...

I'm sorry but pointing to other message forum posts or personal blogs as "supporting evidence" of anything never carries any weight with me - forums and especially something as one-sided as a blog are, by their nature not "definitive proof" of anything. They're opinion, often backed by selective "evidence".
At the end of the day, I really don't care if they've reallly banned them, or if the botters have gotten up and left or not. The OP asked how the bots are, not if NCSoft still cares. I shared my experience on a new character up to level 34, stating that I haven't seen any. I then supposed that, since my clan leader noted that they just banned some recently and that it might be the reason why.
So, to put it simply,
Q. "How are the bots?"
A. "In my recent experience, I haven't seen any"
A slightly more harsh way of putting it...
"The bots are only not there because the game's population has dropped and so the botters left.Don't be deceived into thinking NCSoft cares!!! They didn't ban them!!! The bots left of their own free-will!"
"And your point is? The bots are still gone regardless."
What the hell difference does it make *why* they're not there? The point is... they're not there.
It seems to me that you're trying to spin this into some slight against NCSoft... trying to prove, from a convenient angle, that "they don't care". And they may well not.. in the end, it still doesn't matter because the end result is the same.

I've also never contested that NCSoft "cares more about botting now than they did". I'm only reporting what I've seen myself. The reasons are whatever they are.
im just diseagreeing with you because.
1, the Teon server still has many farmer infested spots.
2, you know that the supcription off players has been up over 100.000? and it's probly down at 60.000-70.000 now but if i had to guess i say it's more like 40.000-50.000 so your server is probly pretty emty witch mean's less player's that ebay's
There should be a pattern developing.
its not that Franz has the most farmer's i guess that would be Teon it just has the most player's who bots
K? Thx.
no, you telling they banned all your farmer's on your server and im disagreeing with you
Wrong. I never said that. Stop putting words in my mouth.
quete
end quete
yere im useing the word all, all roung sry.
A couple people in a new clan I'm in have reassured me that they'll be back, that NC had just recently done a banning, but so far, I haven't seen any.
...

I'm sorry but pointing to other message forum posts or personal blogs as "supporting evidence" of anything never carries any weight with me - forums and especially something as one-sided as a blog are, by their nature not "definitive proof" of anything. They're opinion, often backed by selective "evidence".
look at your own/clanleder's staetment you postet, at least the link's are more helpfull then player A saying 1 thing and player B saying something else.
A. "In my recent experience, I haven't seen any"
still ton's off farmer's on Teon, guess your server is pretty dead?
A slightly more harsh way of putting it...
"The bots are only not there because the game's population has dropped and so the botters left.Don't be deceived into thinking NCSoft cares!!! They didn't ban them!!! The bots left of their own free-will!"
"And your point is? The bots are still gone regardless."
1, the player pouplation is decreasing so it's harder to get party's
2, ncsoft dosen't care about bot's so most off the old player's just bot making it even harder to get party's
3, ncsoft dosen't care about bot's so wasting time reporting someone is worthless unleass your mass petintoning
What the hell difference does it make *why* they're not there? The point is... they're not there.
It seems to me that you're trying to spin this into some slight against NCSoft... trying to prove, from a convenient angle, that "they don't care". And they may well not.. in the end, it still doesn't matter because the end result is the same.
all the diffrencne in the world look above, and no it does matter big part off the player population bot's know because Ncsoft isen't doing they job's, and our server's are crap now compared to Korean server's where they are doing they job's.
Anything outside that is supposition, no matter how strongly you might feel about it.

he's not the only one who's gonna read theese post's, and i can post anything i want, besides i think its relevant to how the bot's are, for instance if Ncsoft startet doing they job's i would have mentioned that to cause in my book it's under the subject!

I hate you guys.

And I pointed out earlier, as an example of just one day of playtime, that I had 3 invites, and I'm well under level 60. Would you like me to run down additional examples?
Oh wait... that's right.. "How do I know they weren't using walker". Sorry... paranoid prejudice doesn't come naturally to me.

here's a quete from amark_B
Is this going to be good or bad for the server and the game?
after a few day's off playing ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
this game we have decided to quit, and I feel like I completely wasted my money. My warning to all other players considering this game, STAY OUT!

you dont wanna know what you remind me off
Again, I wasn't talking to you in my last post, but I'll entertain that one, because you set yourself up so beautifully.
so you can go off topic but i can't ?
So much for the "unless you're 75+, you don't really know" argument. There are people 75+, and they're not having trouble xp'ing either.
i said finding party's under 60 is hard, over that and it get's a lot easier
And I pointed out earlier, as an example of just one day of playtime, that I had 3 invites, and I'm well under level 60. Would you like me to run down additional examples?
im sure everyone else who's gonna play will have a hard time getting party's so either your exetremly lucky with getting party's all the time or your just lying.
Oh wait... that's right.. "How do I know they weren't using walker". Sorry... paranoid prejudice doesn't come naturally to me.
So... seems to me that *certain other people* are just too obsessed with seeing the glass half empty and getting emptier to realize that things aren't as bad as they portray. Despite what they think; reality simply doesn't share their point-of-view.
the feeling is mutal
Yay.
Anyway, glad at least one other person on here is happy to enjoy bot-free grinding without finding some negative spin on it.
okay
Hey look, I can use emoticons too...
Bingo.
Seems you and I are in agreement. Regardless of why they may or may not be there, the point is... they aren't there, at least in the lower levels. I'm too busy enjoying that fact to care about why that may or may not be. It's a direct answer to the OP's question; no wild, unsolicited theorizing required.
you just keep going...
... and I also wasn't talking to you. I guess you missed that minor detail.
you keep telling me not go off topic from you own point off veiw but your doing it yourself.
... and that's relevant to my comment, how exactly? Just grasping at anything now, relevance be damned, or what?
By the by, I did answer the OP, many posts back, with a direct personal account. You in turn launched into yourwild paranoid theories and suppositions about NCSoft not caring and so on. I've answered the OP directly. You have yet to come close.
Okay... so it's been offered that "it's alot more difficult to find parties" - especially on a light server. Well, let's see...
- I was doing the Scavenger quest yesterday morning on my dwarven alt, and was offered by someone else in the area to party up.
and i was out lf pvp today and a spellhowler asked me if i wantet to party.
it's a smaller population, and many off the player's botting, that make's it hard to get party's
here's a quete from amark_B
Yep. You've officially run out of valid responses. You're now invoking the posts of others. Well, couldn't do much worse for you than you're already doing for yourself.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
nice going off topic about the OP's question again
Nice non-response. You're starting quite the collection here.
Sure.
i never said that.
And I've already answered that assertion.
im sure everyone else who's gonna play will have a hard time getting party's so either your exetremly lucky with getting party's all the time or your just lying.
Wow. Two baseless suppositions in a row.
You are obviously way out in the weeds at this point. I think I'll just let you flounder there in peace.

i answered it to, and it's not theories it's how it is.

you keep going off topic and taking out text off the quete yourself, and tell's me not to go off topic.

there you go again, not taking all the text with it it's a respone to this

now your not making any sense, and you already said that once, lets see if you can keep what you say.
I've been following this thread since the beginning - and I think my eyes have bled enough now that I must chime in once again.
First of all, you BOTH need to learn how to quote/respond properly.
And respond like so...
than trying to sort through 5 million different colors to figure out who is saying what.
And respond like so...
im not really sure what you mean, you want all the response at the boutton or you just want the quete in boxed text?
than trying to sort through 5 million different colors to figure out who is saying what.
yere it was confusing cause it got qutede over and over, but if it's really only one time i don't think it's confusing at all.

if im doing that can you plz show me the example's, after my understanding he postet that his farmer's was banned and no where to be found for 3 week's.
Regardless, please, both of you - just let it die. You both have said the same things about 10+ times now. im free to express my opinion and im not gonna quit until a better pvp game comes out

any new player's reading mike's first post would probly belive ncsoft has startet caring about bot's, and the community but it's not like that and it never will be it was to late a long time ago stopping the bot's...
so that's why i startet posting the population has decreased.
And finally, I would like to finish with a quote from the Original Post, which I hope (if anything) Sorrowho will read and understand:
