From what I saw from the game engine, it looks pretty good, some of the screenshots looked a little cartoony, but to be honest I don't ever expect realism in an MMO and to be honest I wouldn't like it because realism in MMO's usually tend to be incredibly resource hungry (we're talking polygon count on the models etc. the less polygon a model uses, the less it takes to render/move/animate)

    Couldn't agree more.

The HeroEngine is really cool, if you look through the videos its pretty surprising.

At GDC 07 I got to see a live demo of Hero Engine.

To name a few features they demoed:

-Ability to add static models in world in real time *over network WITHOUT reloading the server*

    - Sped up demo of Day-to-night transitions *with real time dynamic shadows on buildings, terrain, and players alike*.

    - Ability to move the chat window anywhere *even assign it to textures in game*

    - Ability to switch to and from edit mode on the fly (for GMs and devs)

Oooh! sounds awesome! With the right company and the right game, I'd love to be a dev using that game engine, especially for special events (I'm referring to you mentioning adding static models in real time)

Yes, the guy demoing it said to me: If you're in world and see a chair or object moving by itself, that's a dev or gm adjusting it.
