Yes in eve you need as many alts as possible so you can lie and cheat without endangering your main toons reputation ,gotta keep that rep high for when you try to crawl your way into one of the big alliances.

Whatever EVE subscription numbers are published  , three quarters of that are alts. but the eve fanbois will tell you different.. /sigh

ok maybe not 3/4  but half atleast , thats being realistic.

no you don't need an alt nor mining skills. I have zero mining/manufacturing skills and do quite well in 0.0

If the only way you can have fun is by being the top %1 of the game,  you will never be happy.

What are you gonna do with an alt? Go run missions for 10 hours to make 300 mil to buy a HAC?

You're better off using the money to buy GTC's and sell them for isk.

Personally I live in 0.0, have 1 acct, I rat, salvage, mine, and sell loot. Make around 30m an hour.

For PvP I fly a Jag or a Tempest, never had a solo kill but I get on alot of killmails.

The goal for me is to help the alliance be strong and survive. Its not to be the #1 killer in the universe. I don't care if I did .000005% of the damage but I will damn well shoot you for being in our space.

I don't see myself as the star player, I am just 1 angry bee in a hornet's nest.

It does not matter if you are in a hac.

The other day we took down a Dread with a bunch of T1 ships. A month before we took down 2 carriers.

Tell your friends to bring their pretty hacs, they salvage really well and those t2 mods are nice.

    now there is a plan.

I read some replies and wonder if we are playing the same game. I do not want to be the top 1% in the game (actually I want, but I know ppl that are, and I know how much effort, time and money they invested there to understand that I can't be at their level). I want to be in the top 20-30% or so. You are talking about T1 ships, but look at killboards, what will you see on 0.0 kill-mails? Lots and lots of T2 with some T1. So, T2 has long become the mainstream in 0.0.

The main point of this thread is to find out is it possible to quickly replace T2 losses, while playing only with 1 account. I think it is possible, but extremely difficult. As someone said, it's either massive passive income, or alts.

i just did a check on a week of killboard stats for us, we do fly in 0.0 and 27% of kills and losses were t2 ships, only a third of which were larger than an interdictor.

so there is 10% kills/losses that are HACs, recons and command ships. T2 being the mainstream is simply not true, BCs were the largest single group, followed by cruiser, BS then intercepters were the first T2 ship.

you havn't responded to to the fly smarter, or better structured gang statements and i am still curious how your gang divides loot.

there is the other options, don't loose them as much and give all the loot to the person that lost the ship.

Ok. here's statistics from the killboard of the gangs I fly mostly with atm:

20 latest kills (only unique entries on victim/killer are counted)

    T1 - 41%

    T2 - 59%

    *  34% out of T1 ships were battleships which atm don't have T2 equivalent, if we substract it from the general percentage of T1 ships we can see, that only in 24% of the cases T1 ship was used when there is a T2 equivalent of that ship class. You can see, that T2 is indeed the mainstream of 0.0 warfare and T1 is the weapon of the poor. Which means, you are expected to bring a T2 ship into the gang.

As to flying smarter. I am not saying that I intend to lose a HAC every day. I only say, that when I see someone loses his HAC/Command Ship, in most cases I see him in the same ship the very next day, so, you're also expected to quickly replace T2 losses. Hence this thread was born - is it possible to do this with just 1 PvP account.

T2 is not something that should be added to a skill based game.  it just goes against the whole point of making it skill based.

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

wait until they start releasing the T3 stuff they keep talking about.

could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?

T1 fitted ships are not a problem, T2 fitted T2 ships are - and that's what is most ppl flying now, just look at an average 0.0 gang, how many T1 ships you'll find there? Not much. But loads of HACs and other niceties.
Seriously consider Interceptors and Interdictors most gangs are begging for a dictor or inty pilot to [X] up, and though you might not get high on the killmail your still a intergral part of the gang, I fly a Giisti pimp crow and though it costs a lot for a fragile ship if you stay away from Huggins its not often you lose one as you can escape from just about anything (pesky matari recons)

Or try a Nano Vexor :D

    Currently playing:

EVE online (Ruining low sec one hotdrop at a time)

    Gravity Rush,
    Dishonoured: The Knife of Dunwall.

    (Waiting for) Metro: Last Light,
    Company of Heroes II.

To the op I have 3 accounts  and I enjoy the freedom that this gives me and I suppose if I went nuts and played eve like a second job I could make huge ammounts of isk....

the thing is I dont play that way and I dont need 3 accounts to make a lot of isk.....now by combining rating & salvaging & melting of drops from rats you can make good isk just that way.

but I jump back and forth between oo & empire while in empire I run lv 3 missions to get a certain missions that have very nice roid fields in them & I mine these fields ..I then convert the ore into minerials to which I produce  ravens..I do this on weekends as 00 is usually full of crazys ..

I pvp when my alliance space  is invaded by asshats & gank squads I dont go out on roaming gank hunts ...instead I go back to having fun & making isk...

it sounds like you want to be a uber ganker and dont know how to make isk...

and a command ship is 125 mil fully tec 2 fit is another 75 mil   thats 200 mil ....

so that should be what 10 hrs of play time at the most  just rating or lv 4 missions ......

single account players can & do compeat with multi accounts and seem to have fun ..but I guess its more about your play style & what you consider to be fun ..

Without reading anything of the post and only answer your question: No.

sounds to me like tier equipment / ships needs to be removed from the game, as it takes the idea of a skilled pilot away from the game, just my opinion though.  that's why I stick to FPS games for pvp, it's my skill vs your skill, not your equipment vs my equipment, kinda retarded if you ask me.

lol, kinda retarded if we ask you? why are you here? why do you even consider that someone asked you? have you ever played the game?

The ubove poster is stuck in the belief that he will get no respect if he doesn't bring along the shiney toys that others have and you are using his insecurities to judge the game, tied in with your own preconcieved notions that fps is best.

Basically, battles are won on choosing and controling the field. This can be done with t1 gear.
