So I open up my Hotmail this morning and see a Warhammer Newsletter. I think one of these Newletters released by them contains more info than all of the news ever released about Darkfall....
Anyone know why Darkfall doesn't have a monthly newsletter? I mean they must have tons of stuff to talk about after being in development for 6 years , no???

And seriously....WAR is just another WoW clone, so what news could it be?
yep warhammer is already in beta they can release more info darkfall has a bit more of a stricter NDA than most
What does an NDA have to do with the company releasing a newsletter to keep info updated on their game in production? Most games in production have one, don't they? And they also have an NDA.

well level/class games are almsot all the same i heard War is a upgrade wow basiccly nothing new really but since i havent played it i wont pass judgemeant on it : )

So they can have "dev journals" every 2 weeks with an NDA but yet they can't have a monthly newsletter with an NDA?

lol those "dev journals" are completely and utterly useless. They don't even qualify as dev journals. I am not sure what to call them.. Not sure why they even do them because it's pretty obvious they don't care about doing them or anything else that has to do with releasing actual info about the project.

and you'll see what a complete joke they are. In fact you should begin to see what a complete joke darkfall is just by looking at a newsletter of an actual professionally built game and comparing the difference.

Wait so now you want to add a newsletter along with a bi-monthly update? Apparently we're getting more updates than them and you say because their not giving us even more updates that DF sucks? What great logic.
War is in beta and DF is not. Therefore they'll be stricter with their NDA with DF than with WAR this is all COMMON SENSE. Also they never promised that they would do it every two weeks but they said they would TRY and so far they haven't stopped giving them out.
someone mentioned it before i think, but they post dev journals 1-2 times a month....same thing as a news letter. whether the information is of great value can be argued, but i find them interesting.
edit: you beat me to it, was eating breakfast with my reply box open....ya the biweekly updates.
It is well known that WAR is the same basic point and click shite that WOW is.
Why people are bothering with it beyond me.
Darkfall on the other hand is offering something truely orginal and untried.
See how blind some of you people are? Is Quest the only one here with an open mind? WAR is an RvR game, WoW is a PVE game.
Unfortunately neither WAR or DFO are, or are going to be, clones. They all have their unique aspects that intrigue people. Why can some of you not see this?

Right, so anyway you base this on? That's what I thought. Reality is Warcraft is a WARHAMMER clone, unabashedly so. WAR the MMO has very little actually in common with WoW, sure there are surface similarites, but please... try not to make a complete and utter ..... of yourself mmkay?Anyhoots, DF looks intrigueing, but I've never been one to trust a game that has a long dev cycle and trickle information. Call me a cynic but one cannot help but to think of other great disasters that followed this path, Vanguard, Duke Nuke em.....

Anyhoots, have fun with your "new and untried" system. I hope it works out, I DO, but until it's played out in practice, I won't get too excited. "New and untried" doesn't always translate into "works and is fun"

OMG WAR fanbois are on the attack because the game got delayed to 2nd quarter 2008 and it will probably be delayed again. Let's not get too crazy, it's not DF's fault that WAR will be a WOW clone with battleground type of pvp enabled.
WAR shut down the beta for 2 months cause they could not handle the criticism they were getting from the testers. Not to mention that the game itself was first Canceled and then resurrected by Mythic, guess what EA acquired Mythic recently so don't get your hopes up about WAR..... the game will be released if an when EA decides if there is enough WOW injected into WAR.

Darkfall is more of a fleshed traditional mmorpg with an extra angle. Its content the devs are aiming to include far exceeds the basic approach warhammer gives, in war you don't really have to work for anything you just get thrown into a 'hopefully' fun environment.
Anyway, DFO has dev updates like newsletters quite often. They aren't endangering themselves by spewing out aload of in your face advertisement, nor taking the approach that will backfire, Hoping for 1 million beta players who will after 2 months of playing the game realise they are done content wise, and then war has just lost its customer base.

OMG that vid was funny, I laughed and cried. WAR IS DOOMED, they are trying to make a WOW clone in 2 years.... this game will not match the content that WOW offeres. Why bother making a WOW clone? I just don't get it can someone please explain this to me?
