    You cant compare subscription based and any other type of games. lomiller got it right, any game that has non-subscription model will NOT have a precise subscription number.

     You gotta ask this question "How many people are actually playing the game?" and not "How many people registered to play it?". If runescape can be played for free, you cannot say with absolute certainty that X million of people are still playing, or even if those X million of people are one. The error margin is just too great be reasonable.

    I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

    Runescape has over 6million activate accounts, So i guess thats second. then you get down the bottom, lineage etc

    It's not L1 or L2 either, they have three subscription models for it and only NA/EU people pay monthly which is about 15,000 people, in Korea you pay peanuts per hour for a net-cafe account.
