WTF!!!!!! This statement has earned by far the "most ignorant statement ever made in the history of the universe" award. So basically from this logic. If i was to say be...molested by my father you could respond by saying that we were in the same boat because at one point in your life your father grounded you for doing your homework....WTF. Especially considering what time of the year it is...Seriously, use some common sense before you make such a retarded analogy. Jesus. My point being that your analogy isnt even in the same fucking ballpark, man. Anyways, i had a master bounty hunter about 6 months after release.  I loved SWG and everthing there was to it. NGE ruined a game like i never saw anything being ruined before in my entire life...and ive been married!

So no, ive never been tempted back. And what they did to crafting was insulting. Back in the day the hardcore crafter were much more hardcore then the jedi's were. They had more respect and wayyyyy more money then anybody else. I myself was always tempted to make one, but the amount of work involved was crazy.

Yes, SOE screwed up, but i think SWG still has life, but only if enough people are playing it. I'd prefer it the old way aswell, but it's not going to happen, and any new Star Wars MMO won't be as much of a sandbox as even the NGE is now, im my opinion.
Too stubborn? Bro i beleive we the vets were told "If we dont like the changes then by all means go play someone elses game"    SOE made it very clear  of what they thought of the vets. And there is really nothing for me to return to my chosen "unstarwarsy and uniconic" proffesions were totally removed.

If you really want to recruit players to SWG you should go to the WOW forums after all they are the target audience.

I made the mistake a few times of being lured back into SWG.  After all, there still is no other game out that measures up to pre-CU (if you've found one, PLEASE let me know....but don't come at me with how it has some features similar to pre-cu 'cause I want it ALL :P ) so I would go back since it was the closest thing and to "relive the good ole days."  Unfortunately, it would always end in frustration.  The last time I successfully made it into the SWG "world" I played for about two weeks.  The last time I tried to get into the SWG "world" there was a downloading bug in which it would say downloading was complete but the "play" button would not light up (not to mention what the poor thing had to go through trying to figure out what to do with the information from the original game disk since I loaded that on my new computer when trying to get back in the game the last time).  When I cancelled, I put in the survey that the only way to get me back now is classic servers.  Later, I found out that if one left their computer on overnight with the downloading screen up (it was taking some people 24 hours plus for the download to complete), it would finish downloading the game so one could actually play.  Just another lovely bug that needed squashing.

Recently I was tempted to go back again.  Even if it was for the 14 day trial.  Thing is, what was left of the last guild I was in has disbanded and joined other guilds.  Nothing worth going back there to see in that regard.  And when I think of all the changes that have been made in the game and how they have put stuff back but in forms that don't appeal to me (take away my ability to have 20 something pets in my datapad that I tamed/bought/bioengineered and could pull out at anytime to fight, claim they are never going to put CH back in the game, then put in some pet system in which if one wants a pet one HAS to bioengineer and "raise" thepet, keeping it happy by figuring out what it's likes/dislikes are....BAH!) I realize that going back would be very disappointing so why bother.

Ive been tempted back into a lot of games. Just to walk around and see the old hangouts. That is why I like trial versions.

A good ploy for many games is get on a trial account and then go to a TEST server. Most test servers have insta-max levels to aid in testing, but it will also allow you to jump in, level up and walk around your old haunts without having to worry about dying to a level 3 mob.
