There are none. If you like a piece of armour or weapon, kill the mob wearing it to get 'damaged' version of the armour, bring it to NPC crafter nd he will tell you what materials and how much of it you need for repairs. Get him the mats and some cash and you have your new item.
No crafting? Why do all the new MMORPS seem to be going backwards?
Only when you like crafting of course. Personally I don't like crafting. I like the reward of crafting but not the grind. Spellborn seems to have solved that for me. I call it innovation.

there is crafting, not just like in other mmorpg's. the developers don't want to have many timesinks, this is also with crafting.
they don't want players to produce 100 useless crap items just to get enough skill to get that one item they really want. if you see an enemy wearing a cool looking helmet and you kill him, you'll get his damaged helmet and you can get the materials for it to repair it. I find it a nice solution, why in the world should i produce hundreds of garbage items that i will never use just to get one specific item?
. if you see an enemy wearing a cool looking helmet and you kill him, you'll get his damaged helmet and you can get the materials for it to repair it.
Thats not crafting. Thats repairing
Thats where your wrong. The problem is that people are only talking about half of what crafting is. In other mmorpgs you spend your time farming items then you waste most of it making the same crappy stuff over and over again just to be able to make a hand full of decent items that where pre design by the devs themselves so I would use the term crafting loosely.
I Spellborn its alot different. Everyone is right you find a broken item taking it to a npc who will tell you what you need to fix it. But everyone forgot the most important part. The "Sigils" Theses are items you can forge into your weapons and jewelry to enhance yourself. An all of it is based on what you want to build upon not the devs.
Here is a link that will tell you everything you need to know. About Sigils and crafting and how both creates a system that currently can't be beat.

This is a incorrect description of the crafting process in Spellborn.
Bringing a damaged item to a crafter will result in you getting the recipee to create the item. Then you gather the materials needed to craft the item and return to a crafter with your recipee and materials and he will make you a new item, or more than one when you bring enough materials.

The only problem I see with crafting in this game, is that serious crafters are going to be turned off by not being able to become "artisans." Yes skill-ups are, in general, annoying to most of us, but it's also a way for those that are interested, to separate themselves from the pack. Some people like to put in lots of time and effort to be one of only a handful of players in game that CAN create a certain item.
ok , so not only is there no crafting, but armor is totally worthless A guy wearing platemail has the same defense as a naked person. Doesn't seem to make sense.
No there is crafting. And no armour is not totally worthless. Well maybe in your eyes, but clothes do cost money. But since clothes that look like armour, or whatever, do not have stats, yes they play no role in character enhancement. But no, there is no nakedness in the game. When you strip you will show your ugly underwear.
Clothing without stats is a way of realising being able to look the way you like without consequence.

What is this a video game, or Barbie dress up?
Lol, I'd say it's exactly the opposite actually. They are trying to take the emphasis OFF gear in this game.
I like the Ideas of this kind o game. I rather go for the look of things then the stats. Here I can have both (right?)
If you mean that your cool looking plate armor isn't better then a robe, well that's nothing new, cool Plate helmets in WoW have often worse armor then small tiny red hats.
I think this game has alot of good ideas and it is currently on my top "to play list", but when it comes to crafting its lacking, imo. I understand why crafting would be trivial in a game that hasnt gear with stats, but why not use their Sigil system to create something brand new within the realm of crafting.
Maybe a better crafting system is something they are planning on as a future devolopment for the game, which is just fine.
Crafting isnt more of a timesink then devoloping your other character skills...
but why not use their Sigil system to create something brand new within the realm of crafting.
But, but, they did that.
And they did not remove crafting from the game at all. They just removed the leveling (= grinding) from the crafting system and added a different way of getting hold of recipees.
huh? they created crafting professions based around sigil stones? I think you misunderstood me..
They created crafting around sigil stones, but now you are talking about crafting professions all of the sudden.

New items are being created from raw materials with the help of recipees. That is crafting. But maybe you again are talking about crafting professions instead of crafting itself.

some people love being dedicated to professions in most games but heh i guess you cant have it all.
But if you wanna stand and craft all day.......just do it : )
And call yourself a crafter.

Amen to that.
I hate crafting myself and will buy items from other players. So that means others can call themselves "crafters".

Well....lets play the game instead. Why make something when you can loot it instead?
People like to take raw materials and forge them into a finely crafted weapon

So we're paying an NPC to do our crafting for us?
...
I liked the repairing idea better.

Really? Then imagine it as a repair eventhough it is not.

You make it sound as if both possibilities are mutually exclusive.
