Last night i had sooo much fun grouping with three others, it was pure awesomness, it reminded me of EQ1 all over again, after playing beta and a month after of vanguard i was really turned off by it, it sucked so hard, i actually hated it first mmorpg i can say i actually HATED. Since i upgraded my computer, and all the fixes and additions that SOE did i can currently say i love this game. The diciple is my favorite class. I have encountered 1 -2 bugs after a week of playing. my FPS is high next patch is going to be sooo awesome with the addition of dynamic weather.
So for those not knowing what MMO to choose or are bored with your current one, come back to vanguard and play on saradon server, you will not be sorry.

Just putting this out there but... the game has been out for almost a year now and you have already encountered bugs in such a short period of playing again?

I Get from anywhere to 40-80 FPS but i have settings turned up VERY high, the preformance increase SOE had did to this game was amazing
w00t nice rig. When I win the lottery I am gonna upgrade my computer
Not really this game was EXTREMELY buggy at release but only to encounter 1-2 bugs during a weeks play time is a good thing, even in WoW there are still bugs like the loot bug.
i only payed 900$ for it go here great deals http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/Gamer_Ultra_8200/
They had their chance to impress me already, and they blew it miserably.
I too have returned and I must agree. The game is freaken awesome. Best on the market. I hope SOE is smart and does a re-release.
Only running a 900 buck rig and can max everything out with 50fps in town. Randomly higher outside. Icredibly higher in dungeons.

They did a good job making this game what it should have been at launch (and better).
I resubbed after the server merges, because I figured that would be the best time to join for grouping. Well, I did find a group a couple times, but when I had to choose to skip a group quest or not level, I decided the game wasn't for me.
The game design is great and it is fun, but community is everything. If the community doesn't like to group, I am not interested. If I have to skip group quests because I cannot find a group, then the community isn't that great.
In DAoC, for 3 years I never had to skip anything. There was always a group ready to join. I want that kind of community. I hate soloing. In Vanguard, you will find yourself soloing a lot.

It depends on what server, saradon has tons of people in noob levels and through out ive been finding lots of groups, its with anyting even in WoW on some servers you wont find any groups till outlands
Saradon is the server I was on and there wasn't tons of people in noob levels. I couldn't find lots of groups doing the group missions I was doing either. I was a High Elf Psionist and found 1 person to group with me that entire week. I am a proactive person too. Meaning that I will ask a person to group and try to form my own groups. Just wasn't happening. Most people were in their 30's at the time trying to build guild halls and find plots for their house. There were a smattering of new people, but I guess it depends on what race you were. Maybe other race's starting areas were more populated and were easier to group in, but I wouldn't know. After a week of skipping group quests, I said hell with it all. There are too many MMORPGs out there to settle for a community that is beyond your level or won't group.
You mentioned WoW. I don't really like WoW, because the quests are boring, but I never had to skip group quests or instances. There were always people wanting to get those group quests out of the way too. However, every time I returned, I would restart on a new server. Actually, I have started on a server over 10 months old and still didn't have problems finding groups for group quests and instances. Vanguard was only out for 8 months or so when they merged the servers? I played Vanguard a month before the servers merged and I really liked the game, but could never find a group. After the server merge, things were better, but I still couldn't find groups when I needed them for group quests. Seemed like most people were rushing to catch up with the lvl 30's, which were the average level of the Seradon population at the time.

Vanguard still has a long way to go. If you have already tried VG and didn't like it because of bad performance or because of bugs/ctds, lack of content etc then don't bother.. all these things are still present. Server populations are beginning to fall again after there initial rise after the server merges...
Vanguard full of failed potential!

Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

I played the game during beta and for the first month after launch but having a 50 Blood Mage with nothing to do made it boring because people were quitting left and right. I will wait for the free trial before thinking of resubbing again, I wouldn't want to rush back into what it was. Are the PvP servers still a huge gankfest and did they do anything to the infamy system? When I quit it had no impact on the game itself so there was no real reason to PvP, and when I did PvP I found healers like myself to be amazingly OP.
Are there helmet graphics yet?
You couldn't pay me to go back to Vanguard, the best thing that came out of that experience for me was the free 2 month trial of EverQuest 2 SOE gave to former VG subscribers.

SOE employee for the win!
I agree 100%. Look at Diplomacy, for example. Diplomacy is a solo activity. There is already crafting, which is a solo activity, so why put another solo activity, Diplomacy, in a game that is supposed to encourage grouping? That makes no sense.
I also agree with an earlier post. I tried Vanguard, and they had their chance, and blew it. If you're not going to release a fun game, don't expect me to come back later after you fix it. I'm just going to wait in WAR now.

In short, yes. Also, you know your signature is spelled incorrectly?
I liked Vanguard at release but hated 1) performance, 2) bugs, 3) crashing, and 4) other.
I can say that I really enjoy the game today; its 1) world immersion, 2) class system; 3) fun and intense combat, 4) slower leveling; and 5) challenging dungeons.
Vanguard is receiving a resurgence on the Seradon server. And the other PvE server as well. I cannot think of the name. I know around 5 people in real-life and online that have recently resubscribed. I know of others in real-life that will join when they have the system for it.

WoW and fast food = commercial successes.
I neither play WoW nor eat fast food.

Did you know Arkane is spelt arcane.
about a month ago i decided to try it after hearing how much it had improved
i resubbed, logged in and made a hobbit like character (forget what the race is actually called but their starting area looks just like the Shire in LotR)
after completing two quests i jumped off a building and fell through a rock and got stuck under the world
i never did log back in that month, and canceled my sub
hopefully i was just the unlucky one who found a rare bug, rather than a commodity

Arkane is an avatar name, names can be spelled how you choose. What you misspell is a brand name lol.
