In 2000, two UO guild mates started dreaming up the Darkfall Online game.

Yea. Last year they put it back to this year. I'm not kidding. They are still commited to a 2004 release but the dev house admits that if the game is not ready in thier oppinion they will set it back further. The most recent dev update says closed beta testing continues untill they ae ready to bring public in for larger scale testing sometime this summer.
Closed beta testing for 3+ years. Things that make you smile... Devs without a clue...
I'll wait for this one. I stopped waiting for VG, STO, and others when their development process or release were done poorly. But Darkfall has all the perfect rules and features for me. I personally can't wait until it's released. This will be my next long-term game.

I just went back and read the first 4 or 5 pages or so of this thread, such wide eyed optimism about the imminent release. Shame to see such hopes dashed.....
Problem is, I'm not sure here at the end of 2007 we know much more about DF than we did back then, nor can any release date be predicted.
Just trying to live long enough to play a new, released MMORPG, playing New Worlds atm

Darkfall is in development for 4 years now.
Before 2003 it was a completely different game no comparisson with Darkfall from 2003.
Most big mmorpgs are 4 to 5 years(wow 5 years) in development so DFO is no different.
I believe somewhere in 2008 it will be released!
