#1 RIFTS #2 SHADOWRUN #3 CYBERPUNK #4 UNDERWORLD #5 ALIEN I voted RIFTS #1, this is my Top 5. Ive never understood why RIFTS has never been made into a mmorpg. Its got everything you would ever want in a gaming world. It is definately my favorite PnP of all time.
You know i was thinking about the rifts idea, man thatd really seriously be so damn awesome but the problem would be i think theres just SO MUCH content in the game world they couldnt fit it all. Maybe if they did it how they did the game books and release a billion expansions for it lol. Another really awesome game i remember by palladium was nightbane or nightspawn originally i think it was called but anyways you could make your own monster sort of a mix and match of powers and appearance, sort of like city of heroes character gen but a hundred times more detailed.
Im glad to see too a fellow old school pen and paper roleplayer here as well. I havent gamed in forever but i got a lot of fond memories of playing rifts.
While im thinking about it a call of cthulhu type game set in the future would be pretty awesome too. Maybe have aliens and demons and the remnants of humanity fighting for earths survival, would be great to see a huge battle mech fighting this big 40ft tall demon and then an alien ship flys by and torches them both lol.,
I think the thing that appealed so much to me about rifts was it was multi genre and not fantasy sci fi or horror but a mix of all three.

Yes that would be great I think. You could be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle type mutant grouping with a Juicer and some kind of space alien warrior LOL. Your right tho, Its REALLY a wonder SOMEONE has not made this one into a MMORPG yet. Or at least something like it. I like the idea of lots of expansions, I dont mind paying for them so the game just continues on and on.
One thing I have to say though is that in my dream MMORPG the guild would have REAL meaning. Some thing like EQ2, where each player contributes to the guilds xp but more than that somehow. MUCH more than that actually. I just don't really know how. I liked the rumored idea from Star Trek Online that the guilds in that might be guild-run starships that get bigger and better as the guild got higher in level.
I'm going to have to say that I'd uh like to see Beast Wars Transformers come into play as an mmo...they could even make the exact graphics these days. It was just one of my favorite kid shows, seems like the perfect RPG to me

OOOOOOO How bout Cyberpunk or like a Call of Duty MMO where ya start off in basic training as an American, Brit, Russian OR German, Japaneese or Italian. It could like planetside where at the end of the day just before the server reset it give a definate winner.
I second the Vampire: The Masquerade MMO. The singleplayer RPG had so much potential.. It as fun even with all the bugs. I think they got the atmosphere right.
White Wolf and CCP are doing an MMO. Here's to hoping.
It would be awsome to see a ROBOTECH - Macross MMO, all vehicles and mechs. The game would have full large scale earth and space battles. Guilds could own large battle ships and go to war, battle ships could be destroyed. The game would also be skill based open FFA- PvP with full player looting. That would be my dream MMO. I was a big macross fan as a kid.
Robotech MMO would be a great idea but maybe better if they add the 3rd serie morphing motocycles(even if not a real macros serie).
I think it could be even pretty interesting to see a Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North star) or a Vampire Hunter D (sort of fantasy/ciberpunk/castelvania serie for those of you who do not know it).

Actually, my favourite mmorpg is launching it's english CB at the end of January. (why the hell did it have to be after the holidays....) It's called Mabinogi X3
