Well there is no such thing as a free MMO so let's get that straight first.
Eh?
I vote for Perfect World.

The notion that graphics, or anything else for that matter, are anywhere near as important as gameplay/fun is so utterly ridiculous that anyone who shares such a view should be placed in an asylum.
I would've said PW except I have very bad lag all the time. And it's not my connection or ISP ( I can download a 350MB file in about 10 mins and upload at about 60-75kB/s).
I tried playing PW recently, but with the constant lag (doesn't matter when I try to play, morning, noon, night) I get killed by mobs constantly.
9Dragons wasn't bad except it's alot of grinding it seemed and not much else.
Silkroad was fun, but didn't hold my interest.
Eventide was pretty cool back in the day, but they didn't update it enough and I don't believe there was alot of quests.
So honestly I can't think of 5 GOOD free MMO's. Going to try out Shaiya and see how laggy that is and see if it can hold my interest.
Well there is no such thing as a free MMO so let's get that straight first. Anarchy Online was the only free MMO, using in game ads for revenue, but they have a micropayment system now also. What you are asking is what is the best micropayment game. My vote is Shaiya Online.
I agree with what you are saying fully.I also agree that even though SHAIYA has an archaic setup in many respects it still gets my vote.
shaiya
silkroad[if you can stand mass KS'ing and several rmt bot farmers.
my third pick if i was gonna would be last chaos only because the parent company of SHAIYA ISTEP or something like that spends alot fo money and effort on there games so at least you know there not fly by nighters pawning off some piece of junk.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Shaiya isn't really all that bad, the questing really throws me off a bit, really bad lack of information as to where to go for the quest, yes they did give direction like northwest of town and i go northwest and theres nothing there, i think if the game released a patch to better the questing and some other minor flaws, id keep on trucking with it.... because i direly need something to keep me occupied until WAR releases, or if im lucky to get into the beta

Shadowbane is the only one I know of that is truly "free". No item mall, no nothing. Just download and play. It does have 5-10 sec ads that play when you die and such, but that costs the end-user absolutely nothing.
But if you consider all those micro transaction games "free", then I would have to say RF-Online. Silkroad comes in at a close second.

But Lunia is not an MMO.
i honestly thaught RYL was a decent free mmo even though it was an korean grind game having a hard to find something to play till warhammer comes out

Well, of the ones i've played :
1. Silkroad Online
2. Perfect World
3. Maplestory
But, they all suck big time, it's just a matter of which sucks the least.
None of the ones you chose.
Which is why I expected a poll since you had given a list.
No problem. It's all good.
Read his post. He said to list your top 5 free MMOs... not choose from his.
Eh?
I vote for Perfect World.

Because when you play an item mall mmorpg a man will enter your house, hold a gun to your head and force you to pay for items, right?
This is a tough one.
