Because it might take away some votes from their super favoritest game EVAR: Granola Espaniola - The Flyght of the Korean Fairie Mangina Chyld.
The more pressing question is who actually cares about F2P games?
considering that worldwide there are more people playing Free to play mmorpg's than pay to play mmo's, I'd say quite a lot.
More people eat at McDonalds, or KFC than eat at a quality sit down restaurant. Even more so than eat at a 5 star establishment. Britney Spears, etc. I'm pretty sure Club Penguin is pulling in better numbers than either GW, or GE. Same with Habbo Hotel, Webkinz, etc.
PS: Both Fury, and GE:TFotKFMC both required a box purchase initially, and one could argue that Fury still does given they gimp you pretty good for going the free route. PSS: F2P means Free to PLAY, not Free to Purchase. GW costs nothing to play the game, hence F2P.
Actually GE:Sword never REQUIRED a box purchase initially. IAH games gave 6 months free then went F2P and K2 Network only required you start your subscription, you never had to buy the box for either version.
Well, that certainly is strange, seeing as there are still boxes for the game sitting on the shelf at the local Best Buy, and EB Games.
Neither of the two sites official blurbs on the game mention that you do not need to buy the client. Only if you happen to read the user comments on the EB site do you learn that the game is free, and you get extra gold, or whatever for buying the box. If I were just in the B&M store, I would have no idea that I was in fact throwing $10-20 away for something I could get for free.
So, if they never required a box purchase, I'd say it was pretty damned deceptive to put out a box, which I believe was $29.99 at the time(though I could be wrong) that doesn't say, "Oh, by the way, you don't really need to buy this game, you can download it for free!".
Yes, there is no monthly subscription, but you need to buy it. But GW sucks hard, it's really not worth the box money, the only reason there is no sub is because nobody would play it.
ahh sound like a true 12 year old its a matter of opinion. I have played gw for over 2 years now both alot of pve and pvp. been there through nerfs and all shit, i dont enjoy it that much anymore besides pvp which imo is far better then in sotnw. gw is f2p end of story.
