sega isnt any better ive had 2 of my games canceled without even notice they just removed all links to the game i even called tech support to see if i got my account canceled they dont even know about these games. i didnt get charged though atleast.
i think sega was trying to be a published for both of these games they went live but didnt last more then 3 months.. i think they also canceled phantasy star online so make that 3 games.
I completly agree with you. The sad thing though about the gaming industry at the moment is that EA owns 25% of the gaming market in North America. Almost every game they produce to date, has been a horribly watered down product. Goldeneye series (the infinite wave of them on the PS2) the Battlefield online games (wow.. talk about a watered down hollywood experience of vietnam) And of course, their MMOs. Why cancel UX, and WHY Earth and beyond?????
Do they think that nobody was behing the product? I for one was looking forward to UX and EaB. Besides Blizzard, Soe and NCSoft, i have NO trust in companies starting MMOs... even Microsoft... WHY CANCEL TRUE FANTASY LIVE? ??????

Want to do something about it? Here's a start. On the Forbes.com website there is a Ceo job approval poll. EA Ceo Larry Probst is on it. Go vote No! to Larry Probst. Tell your friends about the poll too and get them to vote no. In March Larry had an approval rating of over 80%. Since EA cancelled EnB there has been an effort to go vote that rating down. His approval rating for last month was 6%! If his rating continues to stay low then more and more people will notice and start to ask questions.

its called business guys, there is no point in continuing with EnB UOX, and all those games, when your gona lose money in the process.
after 6 or so years, I had to change it a little...
They're all wimps
NCSoft's got the biggest balls in the business... and they will be rewarded for it (hopefully)

Great companies like Funcom, and Mythic have a passion behind their games. If the going gets rough they will work extra hard to make it the best game it can be. A good example is Reakktor the developer of Neocron. their player base is very small, yet they still patch their game, host events, and keep up their servers.
What EA did to earth and beyond was a really very sad. They never patched the game, canceled all content, and gave up on their players. 3 classes were going to be added to EnB, they were even on the discs when the game was released. They were never activated because EA is lazy and dosn't care about their players.

The only game I have really enjoyed is Earth and Beyond. A tale in the Desert was a close second (lack of players caused me to quit). Tried Rubies of Evertide, Linage, Dark age of Camelot, and Anarchy Online. Liked none of them.

What gets me is why do EA keep making a sequel to UO and dumping it.
Ok there was UO2 that got canned.There is this UOX which they keep saying was not a sequel(call it what you want) and that got canned.
In 2 years time we will here of another UO game.Fact remains as long as people play UO,EA would not make a sequel to compete with it.
I like the EA games they made for the Xbox....lol. Seriously they ruined games but they also made good games. If you make nothing but perfection I imageine your security would be at risk from assassins from your competitors.

EVEN ea sports games are terrible. Sega, yes i agree is a bad company, horrible? no. Not as bad as Midway.. but that is besides the point. Sega could have crushed the PS2 if only they had a proper CEO or marketting team... but hey, i loved the dreamcast, so i'm biased.
And for EA... why can? you know how much money they could have made off the UO game? Ah.. i guess we'll never understand

CoH = take a MMORPG take away EVERYTHING except fighting, grouping, and quests (missions) and you have CoH, one of the worst (of course just IMO) MMROPGs recently released.
then theres Lineage 2, i really dont have to say anything because people just know this is garbage. This is probably the most pointless and repetative MMORPG i have ever seen. Add in scammers, adena whores, PKs, MASSIVE grind and you pretty mcuh get the point.
Tabula Rasa, this game has promise, but since its still early in development we'll have to see how it turns out.
Well i agree NCsoft making a good run at the mmorpg but SoE(as much as i hate to admit it) are still top of the hill.
Yes Lineage 2 was a pile of crap...
But CoH, despite its faults still tried doing something different. The combat was actually fun in a mmorpg for once.
Guild wars is doing many original things, not just the no- monthly subsription..
And Tabula Rasa is just completely avoiding the "model" of past mmorpgs and doing its own thing.
Yes, not all of NCsoft's games are good, but you have to give them credit for actually taking chances and giving innovation a shot.

Lineage 2 is the best in the market right now. Gameplay, graphics, replayability. Everthing.

I actually haven't heard of anyone who liked the gameplay... i hear its all grind

i'll have to agree, i think NCSoft in a way, is kind of destroying the MMO world. Come on, why release x amount of MMOs in 3 months. I honestly hate CoH, i played for 2 days non stop, than realized "what the HELL??? NO ITEMS... NO CRAFTING??? NO FISHING..????? wow, see ya later"
NCSoft is only supplying ppl with a quick hit of crack (MMOs) that are lacking in quality. L2 is GARBAGE... TERRIBLE, for such a beautiful engine... you'd think tehy could have made a good game at least... geez..
It seems now that, besdies blizzard and SoE, companies are only making MMOs because of the money that are in them, if you want proof of that, look at the gameslist here on MMO. Some of the ugliest and stupidiest ideas in games are coming out, and only 5-10 are actually decent
