Fury is an awesome game. But if you are only interested in slapping boars and spanking wolves then this isn't your game. I love how there are no lvls, no fedex quests. It still has issues but they will be gone with time. Once my laptop arrives I will be playing the game.

Its a pure PVP game. No PVE quests. No looting although you get rewards at the end of matches.
can u get skills up? Like leather working or something
There isn't any crafting/manufacturing in the game. Its just pvp matches against other players and teams.
The only non combat thing you do is sort out your gear/armor which can be artificed in Sanctarum or bought/traded from vendors/players.
Crafting may get introduced later, no news on that yet.
Abilities are unlocked as you play matches and earn essence to unlock them. You decide which to unlock, no preset paths.
Fury is the type of game that will appeal as something to log into and play in a team with your mates for a few hours a day. Thats it. It is fun and competitive, but don't expect anything else other than what I have mentioned or you will feel dissappointed.
This is going to sound a bit cheesy but here it goes, you are always a winner even when you lose a match in Fury.
When you win/lose, you'll get essence points to be able to unlock more cool abilities, you get armor and money. Everyone gets the same rewards for gear, but only one winner when you roll... you can roll on the same item (or more) 3 times to increase you're chances in getting it. Visit the item brokers often, each one has a different store inventory for items that the players have sold or the Auction House.
Don't be disheartened if you lose alot when you start out. We've all been through it (and still are) and its a learning experience. There is a lot to know about this game, its not just simple pvp button mashing contest (its not mortal kombat). If you button mash and don't know what your abilities do for you, you will die. The skill system is unique and multi-layered so learn it well. Play smart and remain calm.
Oh and Equip Points (1000) can be your best friend or your worst nightmare lol
Hi, if you mean maps... yes there are different maps, each with different land layouts to use at your disposal. If you mean Battle grounds that would be a 'yes' too. There is one called Vortex similar to a 'capture the flag' scenario its 8v8, another where you fight for tokens dropped after killing bots, team vs team - ie. 4v4, there is also a 1v1. There is several you can choose from, and all are rated on how you play in-game then reflected on Fury's ladder system in their website.
ok so i installed it last night, and am ready to start tinight. After looking at the manual I have decided to start out on a Warden. Just for no other reason but I hated fighting Wardens in Daoc haha.
From DAoC to Fury? oh my!! Down with Warhammer and WoW long Live DAoC
Its actually rather good, I've no problems waiting in a queue to get into a match. Since the game went F2P I see lots of new Chosen running around. I don't think you will have problems teaming up with people, if you'd rather team up with the same people on a regular basis find a good clan.
If you guys have any questions, feel free to add me in-game.
Thank you all for your input in this game. I remember looking into it before its release and thinking it might be a game for me. I am currently into MMO limbo atm having tied of 99% of whats available on the market right now. Waiting on the thin hope DarkFall is released and does not suck like Dark and Light did.
So after reading this entire thread i started to DL the client and read the manual.
Curious i assume that most sucessful guilds utilize voice programs like Vent or TS, is this game playable without these or would you consider it required ?
Is there a central community area where players wait in between matches or does one just queue into the next match ?
Would there be any advantage to using a 360 controller over a mouse keyboard ?? or would that create more issues ? Is it even supported ?
Anyhow i hope to be playign soon once i i have the skill sets figured out and where i fit into this game.
Thanx again for informing of how this game plays i was certainly on the fence... if not behind it and not willing to try it till i read this.

So after reading this entire thread i started to DL the client and read the manual. Curious i assume that most sucessful guilds utilize voice programs like Vent or TS, is this game playable without these or would you consider it required ? The game is totally playeable without vent or TS. It would help alot, but most people don't have it unless they are in a clan that uses it. Its not mandatory to have one. Is there a central community area where players wait in between matches or does one just queue into the next match ? Yes, once you have done the 'trials' in the Chosen startup area (min of 9 matches) then you can move into the main general area called Sanctorum. There you can train, use vendors, and choose whichever arena you wish battle in. Press 'm' for the map it helps. Would there be any advantage to using a 360 controller over a mouse keyboard ?? or would that create more issues ? Is it even supported ? I'm not so sure about using a 360 controller. There options to modify your keyboard layouts. The thing is, the game can't be looked at as button masher ie. Mortal Kombat kinda game. You really have to know your abilities to counter others, plus you will be doing alot of build testing and changing up alot of buttons, so i think its best to stick with a keyboard&mouse layout. Anyhow i hope to be playign soon once i i have the skill sets figured out and where i fit into this game. Cya soon if you need any help feel free to send me mail to /tell me in-game. Also if you need a good clan let me know, we are always very helpful to each other.

Thanx for the reply but i am stuck at the login in screen... but i made another thread for this which i see you posted in also.... but i will keep trudging along trying to get it to work.
Fury definately has core gameplay mechanics that are nicely designed and work well. The Archetype system and the Charge system are pretty smooth; two of my favorite features of the game.
However, there is a bunch of stuff that needs fixing or straight up removing. Around the fun core gameplay they have crazy-glued on other random features that just don't seem to fit. Elements from World of Warcraft in a game that is supposedly competitive PvP?
With a 7~ man team now working on Fury I am interested to see how quickly they can actually develop it, if they do at all. It definately still has potential to be a strong niche game with the free to play model, but really needs some work.
I played Fury for quite a while through Beta, and it was a great game then. Sadly it evolved in the wrong direction for me, and I stopped playing just before release. I still remember those close faught vortex matches between my clan and other top clans at the time (Carebear Stare, Gravediggers, IcE Gaming...) with much fondness.
To all those who pick up the game now; You can find the fun with a little patience, but I wouldn't expect many changes to the game in the near future.
