Say a game had all black races and someone asked the question you are referring to(or no white races).  Meaning asking why aren' t there whites in the game? 

What would your response be?

There is similar bs that happened at the University in the town I lived in for a long time.  It was all about the mascot though, which had been the mascot from the school's begining.  Why did these people go to that school if this was such a big issue? 

This kind of stuff really pisses me off and is exactly why we still have alot of racial issues in the world today.  I'm sorry, I'm sick and tired of people throwing up their hands about racial crap.  Usually the people who start crap like this are just as racist, if not more so, than the people who they are actually complaining against!

I have white friends, black friends, asian friends, mexican friends, french friends, hell I don't even know all the different races.  I've dated asians and people of other races(wouldn't mind dating me a latino either). :P  The point is, if this bothers you that much, vote with your wallet!!!

 

One other thing to the OP.  I do understand what you are saying, but I think you should have asked it in a different way.  It is all about the presentation.   Maybe you should have asked in a round about way instead of making a big issue out of it in your original post.  Something like, heh have you guys ever noticed there aren't many black races in MMOG's?  You could have went on to say you were black or whatever.  I just think you went about it all the wrong way.

That is just my opinion, of course.

To answer the question about would I play an all black game or game with no whites in it?  Yea, i would if it was fitting for the game or liked the gameplay.  Personally, I never really pay attention to the races.  I will admit, maybe it is because usually there are white type races in the game.  I really don't think this would matter to me though.

Heh, and EQ1 did have a black race.  Erodites!!!

As a matter of fact, right now I play a black Cleric in Vanguard.   He is a pretty bad ass looking guy too!!!

In the tabletop game therre are black human armies [if you chose to base them ff certain Southern Empire provances. There are also Black Orks. There are also black Lizardmen.

 

So yea there are black skinned people in Warhammer but they are not strictly a race in Warhammer lore yet [unless you include the Khemri which  are a race and used to be black] but there are there discendents who run a few empire provances and are black and browned skinned. You see the main problem with Games workshop doing a black race is because the black races live in countries that are too far away and isolated by chaos wasts to really be involved with the 'Old World'. For example to get into Cathay [a china inspired country] you need to travel through mountains [full of orks ogres] a ash wastland [full of ogres orks chaos and chaos Dwarfs] and most never even get to cathay let alone return with goods so such lands are too hard for traders/explorers to get to let alone entire armies which is what Warhammer is about.

The sea is just as bad there are High elves Dark elves chaos undead orks. Basically the Old world which wsarhammer is set in is surrounded by hostile lands which is why places like Cathay and Indi are not more than just background fluff.

I'm pretty sure your being sarcastic here but in the table top there is no reason not to use the green stuff [modeling putty] to make some turbans for orks.

When I first saw this topic posted I ignored it because the argument was as simple as this.

 

Why are they making a lara croft game but not letting me as a prowd male play a male? I am being forced to play a female....

I could go on but the point, if you have not caught it yet, is that by the standards you are trying to set ... well Black people do not look like your idea of what  black people should look like, and your upset that a game will not match your ideal?...

 PS... all of the above are, as you, prowd black men, if I wanted to drive the point home I could easly have used plenty of black women .

It always makes me kinda sad when a game offers the skin tone but not the features.

 

But you should realize Warhammer Fantasy is modeled after Earth.  So the non-western european countries are exactly where you would think.

 

Its not just race that isn't represented, Kislev is the Russian analog and its not in WAR for example.

 

There are tons of races and countries and popular armies that exist in Warhammer fantasy that are not going to be in WAR.
