Beta player turns to WOW again..

It's pretty sad given the hype out there but despite the fact that I'm in some major betas I am having a blast since rerolling in WOW, lol. Playing fairly casually it now takes less than 4 days /palyed to get to 60 since the last major patch and exp increases.

*Sigh* I wish something else out there could hold a candle to the content and polished gameplay of  it. Oh well as long as you are having fun, thats what it's all about! Happy gaming.

Ug i cant really imagine LOTRO having more content since I pretty much went through everything it had in under a month.

However i am more referring indirectly do certain hyped betas that are out and how it's going to be very hard to garner a lot of long term following with what WOW has out now.

It might not be that hard, there are plenty of people out there who think WoW is a huge steaming pile of poo.

as long as your having fun :) I tryed the casual thing but that didnt work out for me. After raiding with a top 5 US guild going casual just ended up making me sell my account. I realized something... There is such thing as life after wow.. who would of thought.. and $1200 in my pocket for a full T6 pally didnt hurt either.

WoW is still one of the best MMORPGs out there. People hate it and others love it. But no matter your opinions, its a strong game.

I am back to WoW as well.  I tried EVE online but the primitive enemy AI, lack of content, and lousy community drove me back.

I wish someone would make a game as good as WoW.  The lack of decent options is depressing.

not to mention, WoW has VERY difficult Raids. althought lots of people say WoW is 0skill. they have not raided high end instances obviously.. right now on Arthas/PVP one of the most populated servers, the current (BEST GUILD) (TG), has best gear. They have not completed Every Raid. simply because some of them are so difficult that about 90% of raid groups wipe on first mob pulls or never even get to first boss.. whoever said WoW is too easy thoh deffinently didnt do his homework.

Fact is WoW is one of the best MMOs atm. It's not very deep, it's not very complex, but it's easy, polished and bloody fun... for a month or two. Then just take a break for half a year and resub again. Story of my life...

Every time I read your post, I die a little inside...

How would you respond if i came to WoW forums and whine about the lack of any decent PvP-option?

You came to Eve in the thought it would give you decent PvE? Well..it actually has a decent amount of hard PvE in the 0.0-Regions, but fact is, that it is almost exclusively a PvP-Game. Eve focuses around territorial control. If you come there for the PvE you will be disappointed for the same reason i would be disappointed in WoW for the lack of interesting crafting and meaningful PvP.

I got to level 2 on LOTRO before i had enough of it lol, the game just has something about it that bugs me.

Ah I went back to WoW recently for 10 days, and wanting to group anywhere in the 1-60 area was impossible.

Was there actually a point to this post or did you just want to show your poor taste in games ?

  • SymoneSymone Member Posts: 277

WAR beta has been down for ages. I can't say anything else about it but I've played it for 4 months before it went down.

*sigh* I'm having fun but half of me is MMO-depressed because I love new things.. but i do have to have fun when I play or else whats the point!  I am having a good group now running instances for loot is pretty fun in WOW compared to some other crap I've been playing.

Sure it's simple but I haven't done the "end game" in BC since i left for LOTRO last yeear so its a nice experience. I just wanted to make a comment on MMO's in general and how I wish there was something new out there that I could get into for more than a month. I really don't think it's gonna happen but maybe things will change.

I just feel like spouting off and being cynical.

I have found that since the blush of original EQ wore off I have been unable to play any online game for more than a few months at a time. I have a lot of fun with new games until I start grinding. I don't do any high level content because I don't want to be in a guild or anything that requires more commitment than I log on when I feel like it go afk when I feel like it and actually work to level once in a great while.

In EQ I was a hard core raider and a founding member of the 4th best guild in the game. On our server when the planes were opened we were the only guild hunting there for months and months. The commitment level was insane though. I played 16+ hours a day 7 days a week for 2 years. Our loot distribution system required attendance to keep you in the top slots for getting upgrades.

Now I just cannot commit to a game. My RL has grown up and I had to join it:-)

    ...WTF dude!

Seriously, thank god RL did catch up with you before you just flat out died.

p.s. In fact, stop reading this forum as you clearly shouldn't be playing MMOs at all!

BEST? roflroflroflroflrofl Wow are you serious? The pet rock sold millions, but it was not the best "pet" or let alone toy. Just because it is popular doesn't mean it is good or even the best.

Like you, I simply cannot understand why they implemented Battlegrounds.

The world PvP was the best thing in WoW, and almost made up for the simplistic PvE game (didn't raid, can't comment on that). The first thing that messed it all up was the (dis)honor system. Nothing worse than players killing each other for positions on a leaderboard. Makes PvP so impersonal.

The the battlegrounds finally killed the whole thing, and overnight world PvP just stopped. Sad :(

what i loved was having to run to a BG and all the people waiting outside and dueling and chatting but now you have none of that as you can join a BG anywhere
