I had an experience a long time ago that made me question a GM's integrity. I posted this in short terms in another post, but figured it fit here as well. I had a 3 day weekend from work, so I decided to camp the spawn for the beastlord epic in Timorous Deep. I was camping it for hours(killing raptors once in awhile to keep myself sane) and suddenly a lvl 10 ranger showed up and sat behind me. I doubted this person had enough conviction to sit there for as long as I could, so I mentioned it to my guild and continued to just stare blankly at the spot where the scout was going to spawn. This continued for awhile and I started to get really bored, so I decided to kill a few more raptors. I went to pull one and it was running up toward me, when it suddenly made a beeline for the ranger(who was seated). I didn't even have time to do anything to pull it off the ranger before they died. Before I could even apologize, I received a nasty /tell about it and got threatened with a banning. I explained what had happened, but it wasn't good enough and was told I wasn't going to get the scout when it did spawn(believe she actually said she was going to kill it). After that, I heard nothing further from the ranger, so I forgot about them and continued my camp. I slept 2 hours the first night(with my guild leader watching the spawn for me and she had my phone # if it spawned). Second day, nothing eventful and I slept another 2 hours. On the third day, it spawned and I finished typing and sending "It's up!" to my guild...when suddenly a female beastlord runs up and takes the scout spawn. I sent her a /tell and that's when I found out it was her. She made some rude comments to me and I ended up petitioning her. Not too long later, I received a /tell from a GM and I stated what happened. Guess what? I got yelled at by the GM who said the beastlord was a really great person and I must have purposely killed her with the raptor and deserved what I got. I tried to explain that it was an accident, but she was rude to me from the beginning and was completely siding with the other beastlord. This made me wonder because it seemed like she was friends with the beastlord(or maybe it was her own character, who knows). Later that day, I receive a /tell from my guild leader, she tells me that she logged on and saw it was up AGAIN....a 3 day spawn...twice in 1 day? Something was wrong here... It was too late for me to get it though. A few days later, that GM was transferred to a different server. Always made me wonder if she was transferred for something she did on that day.
Sounds like there's probably a bit more to this story, but as to your wondering, I imagine you're probably reading too much into the transfer. Doesn't it seem a little improbable for a GM to be transferred to a different server as a punitive measure for misconduct?

I have not read the whole thread (shame on me), but I know a few situations where that was the actual result of punishment.
In one case sony moved a GM from my server to another server, because he was "to friendly" with the players. What he was actually doing was grouping with players and walking them through some of the new dungeons in kunark. He wasn't killing anything or using his gm abilities to the players advantage (that I could tell anyhow), but what he was doing was very much against the rules. I know this, because I was there.
Another time a GM was removed from our server for harassing guilds and their guild leaders. There was some major drama over several server best of the best titles and gm intervention. Long story short was someone was banned, then quickly unbanned. Someone had their title removed and given to someone else, then the original winner got the title back so there were 2 best of the best for one class. Then the GM was gone to another server. It was mighty impressive to see a player take on a gm and win. Sure the whole situation was horrible from every single aspect of the gm and the player, but it showed how the company worked.
The developers were caught not to long ago using player submitted bug reports to exploit encounters for their guilds progress in EQ2. I doubt they got fired.
It isn't very uncommon for a game to have a gm go overboard on players or cheat for their own purposes. Soe is the only company I have experience with that doesn't fire them and does just move them around.

Well if there is more to it, it's not from my end. I ended up wasting 3 days of camping to lose the spawn to a jaded beastlord whose lvl 10 ranger died by accident(even if she didn't believe it was an accident, I assure you, it was).
As to the GM, she seemed like a respected person on the server and I had no issues with her prior to this incident. I can only imagine that she would be given a second chance on another server, if that's why she was transferred.
The beastlord however was really rude and I had half my apology typed when I received her threatening /tell. She had plenty of time to return and sit there(and I expressed that), but she chose to take out her rage on me. There was no call for that. Had it been her beastlord I killed, that would be a different story. How am I supposed to save a level 10 that doesn't even last long enough for me to pull aggro?
I still rank that as the worst experience in dealing with another player.
