I never understand when people say in the say post that Vanguard's world is huge and at the same time complain it is empty. It looks like tons of people are playing guild wars when you are in a town because there are only hubs where you aren't instanced. It is just an illusion. Us that play VG don't try to make ourselves feel better and lie that we can find parties easily, we just can. I find parties in VG better than I did when I played WoW, and the funny thing is I was a tank in WoW and a solo class in Vanguard. When you PvE, you want to be exploring with your party in more of an empty scene. I don't want to see 5 groups of people doing exactly what my group is doing, trying to get the same tasks done. Go out hunting with a few of your friends and see how many people are roaming around in the woods with you trying to kill the same deer you are. If there are people, I'm sure you'd leave.

One could argue that Vanguards new focus is also targeting the WoW audience. Also, it isn't like people who are playing Vanguard are so married to it that they would never consider any other game. There just isn't that much good out right now which is the only thing that makes the game attractive. If Vanguard continues the snails crawl pace of releasing content then it will be very vulnerable to the new games and even old games releasing new expansions.
Why does everyone feel that games need to churn out my content and at the same time want no "grind". I find it silly at best that people want a game to fly by to the end then complain about having nothing to do. I think a game needs a long leveling curve and alot to do at each level of a game. The whole game should be the focus not the end and maybe you will not be begging for content if they started making games that take a little longer than a few months to finish.
Everquest took some time to level and it was a blast. It was before the time of linear quest line garbage and easy quick leveling. Groups actually gave the most experience and was encouraged, community was built. People usually didn't have one of every class, your class felt special because your friends didn't all have one. Some quest here and there would be okay but it shouldn't be the focus of the game. You shouldn't be made to level on them, they should be just optional things to do to get gear or some item while you adventure with your party. I would be playing Vangaurd right now if Sony didn't already ruin it. If I wanted to play WoW I would be there right now not on a crappy attempt to copy it.
The highlight is absolutely true, and one reason I found it ironic that the game was called Everquest. I love the game, but it is pretty funny, newer mmo's are really the games where you will forEVER Quest.
And to the OP....if Vanguard is the Biggest Turkey in mmo history, then it is time for Thanksgiving.
I wouldn't say that V:SoH is the biggest turkey of all time, but it definitely fell way short of its hype.
After all this time, the game HAS improved dramatically from where it was during its too early launch. But it still isn't good enough. I mean, I'm REALLY tired of seeing the inside of my own head when I turn around near a wall.
I don't want to see it become WoW. I'd like to see it become a little more like EQ2. The Corpse Recovery aspect is truly the one thing about the game I don't like. Get rid of that, and I'd get my wife to play in no time.
I'd like to see perfomance get better. I'm running a GeForce 6800 and have 2GB RAM, and I still get some lag where I don't expect it.
