I dont think its a game breaker. But as to my personal preferance I just happen to like more classes. its my main point of contention with WoW. everyones so cookie cutter that I cant play for 10 minutes without running into 10 exact replicas of myself. They have what 8 classes? I much prefer the amount you could have in DaoC or Shadowbane even as compared to just 8.

DAOC did do very well with the classes, though i think they may have had a bit too many. I liked how they had female only classes, added something different.
I agree that two few classes gets boring. I thought WoW had too few, and way too few that were any good (again just my opinion) and i also think LoTRs had too few.
12 i think is ok to start, but i would like them to add some as the game advances.
either way you cut it, the lich was a good class, and they deleted it because it was too simaler to another good class. I think they should have persued another angle, and added more to the lich to make it viable.
1st. if you didn't beta test, you don't know enough about the lich as a class to post about whether it was a combine or a delete, and I can assure you, it was a delete in this case. The priest was more of a combine.
2nd. This game DOES need more class diversity. I think there should be more than one ranged combatant, and one offensive spell-caster. Losing a shape-shifter is a bad deal. I personally would have made the lich class a staple class and expanded it into a new direction.
They might add more classes after they work them out fully after launch. Who knows? Only the guys behind the scenes. I think the game will still be good and it could possibly become even better depending on what they decide to add to the game after launch.
