I have had a few great moments. Most in AC. Granted it wasnt DT but back before they invented pink dots you still had to loose items to PvP. Player made castle sieges ect where some of the most fun times I have ever had. Especcialy when the sceduled time was over, people would stand around and chat and the next thing you knew it was a massive FFA no holds barred full looting :)

My best PK moment was in AC on Leafcull.

Back in the early days, everyone feared and respected a toon called "Shock Me."   He was a level 70'ish mage, had some decent pvp skills, and a really nasty  attitude.  Shock Me was one of those guys you just love to hate.

I logged on my npk mule in Arwic Town Hall and  by some random twist of fate there was Shock Me chatting away with a well known nasty cyber super-freak named Tabitha.  I quickly switched to my lvl 30 UA pk character, called my RL friend, and formed a gank squad with his lvl 35 sword.

We rushed the Town Hall and attacked Shock Me like a pack of hungry wolves.  He barely had time to stand up, turn around, and cast a spell before he bit the dust.  Tabitha starts yelling, Shock Me starts cussing, and we cant stop laughing and looting his corpse.

Knowing he would be back with a vengeance, I quickly logged on my mule and transferred his death items.   Sure enough, he comes back and starts talking more crap, so I equipped the staff that Shock Me dropped and inscribed it with:

Roses are red, tulips are black,

    Caught your punk @$$ slippin,

Got a frost claw in the back!

I have no single best PK moment, it was every time I got into an adrenaline pumping fight on Asheron's Call Darktide knowing that if I died I may drop something important.  It was defending my clans hunting grounds with groups of clanmates to protect those who were hunting there.  It was raiding enemies towns and dungeons to keep them from advancing too much.
You don't know what PvP is.

Diablo and diablo 2 hardcore pk steal your shit and hawk it of on Ebay

Hardcore mode 1 life. thats it. you call that no risk? then WTF are you on.

The story I put up, my toon was in constant danger and fighting someone who was higher in level.  I guess I was ignorant of the notion that PK = ganking.  Because ganking is just something that happens, nothing to ever brag about.

If you call group PvP ganking, then its sad to see what current day MMORPGs have led people to believe.  Your toon wasn't in any danger, you were at risk of losing nothing, you were fighting for nothing other than saying you won a fight.  Fighting a player who is higher level than you is not a risk, and in a game like World of Warcraft, the higher level player will always win unless they're completely retarded and have shit gear.

Ganking is for n00bs. if you gank a player there is no real reward. what is a reward is when you use every aspect of the game to win and steal their shit. if your like me you will kill repeadly untill no more n00bs are left. THat is how I flush out the n00bs and make the true 1337 come to me

PKing in the old school UO days was more than just for the Dread Lord title.  It was good way to make money and loot in the game.  No other game can match it because all the sheep, aka the players with loot, play the safe games.
The PK and anti-PK battle is over, both sides lost.

As a fellow UO player i wish for this war to come back o and ya nice on the GL to DL i was only a DL. Both sides have not lost. I fell that the PK have won i see more pk in games like L2 and no anti pk.

Best story I heard was from a friend playing UO. A couple of friends of his decided to go f with a couple of gankers that liked to sit outside the crossroads outside the city.

One of them had a really high tame animal, basically what he told me is they tamed a dragon hit it with invis dressed the tamer up as a new player and waited till they tried to gank him....

killing someone else when they are not expecting it is worth a lot. killing them when they don't expect it gives you a huge advantage. My oppinon is to use every aspect of the game to beat your opponant

Like someone else said, there is no PKing in WoW, and there is no PKing in Guild Wars. You may "PvP", but you can't "PK".

I have 2 quick memories, both while playing UO of course.

The first one was when I was playing my defenseless miner back before Trammel ruined the game. I had been mining and smelting for almost an hour and had a great haul of ingots. I was making my way to my house when I suddenly froze-up. A PK came out of nowhere and was preparing to kill me. Instead of cursing at him or calling him names I just calmly said something like "Damn, can you at least leave my clothes on my corpse and a set of tinker tools". Rather than kill me the PK decided to let me go. He was impressed with me taking it so well.

The second instance I am not too proud of. I read about a PK wedding on another shard taking place. I created a newbie character and bummed a couple of gates to Ice Island where it was being held. In UO traveling to new locations was part of the fun. I got there right before the "bride" PK came up the aisle. I found myself in the middle of at least 40 REDs lined up in two rows, leaving an aisle between them for the bride and groom. I forced my way onto someone standing right next to the altar. It was just my intention to experience this, but since I was playing a newbie character and was free of the responsibilites of my guild name floating above my head, and I was much younger and therefore more immature, I started to attack the PK Bride standing right next to me. Because we were right next to each other, I was covered over by another player, and I was just using my first, no one besides the bride noticed. This went on for about half a minute before she typed that someone was attacking her. I wasn't doing any real damage but I was messing up the wedding. I decided to bolt at this point figuring I'd be dead before I was able to "push" through the crowd, but amazingly I was able to use the confusion to easily get away. Looking back I wish I hadn't been such an ass to mess with an in-game wedding, even if it was probably between a dirty old man posing as a 20 year old rl woman and a 12 year old boy posing as a 20 year old rl man.
