Not sure what you're referring to.

    To Dennisextrem :

I'm not familiar with either level systems in terms of time needed to reach the max level and how much tedious this is going to be in either game. And since both games are in beta and progress rate can be adjusted as they see fit even at the very last moment, noone really knows besides the developers.

If you're talking about the merits of a skill based against a level based system, then my answer would be that I don't prefer either of these systems in their extreme application. The closest to my liking is what AO is using, a class based system with generic and class specific talents that you can choose in your discretion, aka no tiers. AoC system seems to sit between the AO system and a fully tiered system. It certainly leaves more room for progression than a fully tiered system without necessarily raise the level cap in future expansions.

I am not familiar with the mechanics behind the WAR levelling and progression system. They do have a harder job balancing more classes and making them feel as they play differently at the same time just from the numerical difference alone.

Despite how either systems work, in the end we will all be at max level. And the challenge to keep us entertained while maintaining the feeling of character progression will just begin for either game.

You have just lost all credibility and gained the rank of a deluded fanboy. That line alone should be enough to close this thread

WAR is just a WoW clone and will attract the same player base of idiots. AOC has a Maturity filter that will keep the kiddies for the most part out of the game. This will allow for a better overall experience imo.

So how exactly are they filtering out children? Just curious..I mean...do they come to your house to verify the account isn't being used by a child under the age of 18? Because otherwise any one who's parents don't care can pretty much get the game, have their parents set up the account and play freely just like any other MMO.

The rating system may help parents decide NOT to let their kids play but it certaintly won't stop them ... look at how many kids play violent games on the xbox without any parental control.

The rating for a game is NOT ever a reflection of what the community will be like for AoC or WAR..both games are going to do well as long as the devs dont' fubar it.  I think that much is apparant with the trollish flame threads that come through this supposedly 'mature' community all the time.   A mature adult has better things to do then flame.

Please Refer to Doom Cat with all conspiracies & evil corporation complaints. He'll give you the simple explination of..WE"RE ALL DOOMED!

I hope this guy isn´t a reflection of AoCs future community.

What is the maturity filter? Nipples and Blood?

Judging by when I was kiddie, I would have been attracted to a game with such things.

    P.S.

    Good point

Time to return to the WAR Batcave batman!

LOL WAR is more of the same that evryone has played and recycled. If you play WAR dont expect anything revolutionary. Chances are you will leave the game for the WoW expansion when it releases beause why start a new dwarf warrior when you got one with full epics on another game. PvP will be boring with its turn based system and RvR had been done and wasnt what its all cracked up to be. The only thing going for the game is the frachinse but EA will fuck it up. You will be left with WoW or you may be wise and go another route like AOC or something that offers new variety and a fresh experience. All you WAR fanboys are having a sense of false hope just because you loved the board game but realize WoW sampled the genre and blew up with a game that is too similar to WAR and leave no room for a copycat game with a few extra misleading features that will sure to dissapoint.

Ahem, perhaps you should play AoC then? Yes? Superb!

P.S. Watch an informational video, you just spouted random thoughts you had about WAR.

Great! Have fun with AoC and Funcom! They never disappoint!

  • KubushKubush Member Posts: 59

Why dont you read. I never said AOC didnt have hype I just stated that I refuse to fall into EA's hype involving anything with their tag due to their latest products have been crap and that includes all genres. Of course just my opinion.

  • AlienovrlordAlienovrlord Member Posts: 1,525

This person posted the same thing on the WAR Forum, asking the exact same questions about AoC.

Here's a thought, how about researching the game and making up one's own mind, instead of asking for other people's opinions to follow.     Guess what, asking opinions on game X's Forum about game Y, you're going to get people who same game X is great and game Y isn't.  Big surprise.

If the OP has already made up their mind before even posting this thread (as some of their posts indicate) then this thread (and the one of the WAR Forum) should be closed.

Please feel free to list the "crap" they released and your reasons unto your disappointment.

Also understand that the Mythic team is behind the creation of Warhammer Online, not EA.
