One game where player housing was cool was Asheron’s Call. First you had to hunt a house down and find it given the coordinates but you would also need the required items to purchase it. The thing is every house had different requirements to buy. Some bigger houses “villas” had even more.

But the best part of having a house in AC, was that you were able to decorate it with items or trophies from quests. Something WoW CAN NOT do since you can not drop or even see items on the ground.

But let’s get real; WoW is not going to add anything like that. All they really add is land, instances, gear, and nerfs. It would be unfitting for them to change their “I couldn’t give a f*ck what the players want” attitude now.

No no I don't mean that as, that attitude only applies to houses.  I mean everything.  My point is, I don't even know if the majority of people want houses, but it wouldn't matter because Blizzard does not care.

In Stormwind, theres an area which has a "instanced" portal which is behind bars. Apparently that was reserved for player housing/guild halls. A GM confirmed that but this was like years ago...

Blizzard has said in the distant future they would like to implement Player Housing, but that there are too many better things going for them right now.

Although Guild Halls would be very cool.

Player housing is lame, and I'm glad they aren't wasting resources on its development.

I agree on guild halls, and player housing would be nice, but It doesnet make or break the game for me.

Guild halls are also silly.  There are TONS of places in every city for your guild to meet in person, if that's what you really want.  I don't know of very many guilds who actually do this, however.  Beyond RP, there is simply no point.

Why do people ask for RP elements in a game where, in practice, RP only exists in tiny amounts, on an individual level?

    It doesn't make sense.
