I'm pretty much sold on Dark Templar. I was really having a great time with him on the PvP weekend, I actually went on a killing spree with that guy.
Honestly, I did best when playing Dark Templar, might have been luck though, hehe. But anyway, even though damage was not the best, durability was great and I even saved some team mates' arses using martyrdom.
So hard to choose a class right now when you just know there will be lots of class balancing (aka. nerfing) to come...
However, with the way things are now, and the recent ign interview on spellweaving... Tempest of Set looks like tons of fun to me...
I can't help but think, that standing on a wall, defending a keep with this class (and spell weaving) will be gobs of fun...
But then again... I hear they will be nerfed to near oblivion, and will suck for many years to come... so I would suggest others not waste their time roling such a useless class
So exited about the open beta, will prolly give me better feel for what class I am going to play. Was pretty sure before, but this gives the perfect oppertunity and get a feel for a class. Although I wont be baseing my pick on the current state of the class, things change. Need to pick something that "feels" right.
Very nice, getting a lot of votes in now. Numbers seems to be balancing out. Wish ppl could change their vote tho, think a lot of us have changed mind on what class to play.
I am interested in what to make of the demonologist/necro listing. With only 11% of the votes, do people like necros more or demonologists more? If the ratio is like 60 necro/40 demon then demonologists may be one of those lesser played classes.
I just get the feeling that demonolgists might not be represented well because pet classes other than necros never seem to be desired by groups..

Yhea, I saw another poll on another place, it was the demo that was really low, and that actually supprises me. I wonder if it is tied to that Funcom is pretty well known for disregarding their pet classes.
I will roll a Priest of mitra or Tempest of Set I always enjoy playing a healer, with the added CC this class has and the coned healing I think it will be perfect for me and also a good challenge to try and master it.
Whats up with the classes. There are just as many mages as melee. I thought it would have been better with 18 different types of melee classes, and 1 type of generic mage.
Well the bad thing about the PvP weekend is that it showed how badly the classes are balanced... it's pretty much not worth playing a Demonologist or Necromancer when the ToS has better dmg output than both with the addition of healing. Hopefully they'll be able to sort these things out shortly, but it's cloudy...

almost impossible to balance all classes equal at each level, most important is the balance at lv 80.
In my circles the Bear Shaman seems to be the most popular pick. People are just drawn to a warrior/healer, because it gives them the best of both worlds. They're so self-reliant, perfect solo classes. And in teams you can do a bit of both, not getting too bored of just a single role. I'd roll a Bear Shaman myself, but I think they'll be too common. Same for the Stygian Mage classes. I'll probably pick a Priest of Mitra, Tempest of Set or Guardian.
Unfortunately the Bear Shaman is only effective when he is groupped with others of the same class - expect to see BS only groups roaming in kill squads since you would have to get lucky to kill them off as they are chain stacking HoT's on each other.

in that sense you are right, so I guess we will just have to wait and see...

There will prolly be groupsetups that will eat a full BS group alive also. Sad fact of most MMOs, group pvp is rock, paper sissors.
I hope the beta can give us better info on the classes, that is for us who are not in the beta. But if there is a level limit on 13 its not that much that you can test tho.

Tempest Set has the best nukes in the game.
Herald of xotli or Dark templar.
Conqueror
Whats up with this poll putting Conqueror & Dark Templers together?
only have 10 poll options
Guardian, tank and spank!
The tank that is born to tank!
im supprised necro/demo beeing so low. Ppl seem to avoid pet classes, is it because pet classes was so bad in AO?

If only SW:TOR could be this epic...

Love the guardian, tomorow im trying the necro.
interesting, the poll is actually evening out a lil bit.
Priests actually seem to get quite a lot of votes in this game. Very nice! as they usually are under populated.
