What do all of these have in common?
I'll follow Darkfall again when the devs do something they say they will. I gave up after putting in for the 2005 beta and having it not happen for the third time. I think the Darkfall has earned the hard time it gets.
Honestly, I might play Darkfall if it ever comes out and is good, but I'll not be waiting on it, either.
If i would know for 100% that OP and similar folks would stay away from DF and had a guarantee about that ... i would sign ...

I also do NOT want Darkfall to fail. I would actually very much like to play the game they are saying is being made. I just happen to think there is some odd goings on that have given me much doubt as to whether this game is actually being made. I don't feel that I bash the game, or it's developers, I just give my opinion on the readily available facts.
As for the Darkfall devs having to do everything other devs do....they don't. But alot of the reasons they give for not allowing journalists hands-on time with the game, or even to do a preview on the game, and get free publicity is just plain nonsensical. They say they don't have the money to launch ad campaigns, that's fine, but the fact is that they don't have to pay for any advertising b/c game get sooo much FREE advertising via game publications and websites. Please, tell me why they wouldn't want to get their game in front of as many people as possible, for free, through no, or very little, effort on their parts?
And actually, I have said many times that if I am wrong, and Darkfall is ever released I will most assuredly come and say that I was wrong in between my sessions spent in the game.
All that being said, this debate is going to rage on at least until the devs wake up and allow a reputable, 3rd party get their hands on their game, or it is released. If you don't want to take part in this discussion anymore, then just ignore it, that is your right. Just as it is your right to talk about how excited you are for the game to be released.
Now, as for the actual topic of this thread...I don't think it should be delisted. There really is no solid proof that it is, or isn't, actually being developed and all we have is the word of the devs. So, until a time when it is actually shown that the whole thing isn't really being developed, or it is released, then it should stay listed on the site.

I do not believe Darkfall should be removed from MMORPG.COM at this point. The truth of the matter is, Darkfall generates traffic for the site. HOWEVER, if it ever comes to the point where the developers accept orders before having a public beta, Darkfall should be removed immediately from the site. It's one thing to keep the forum around for traffic and laughs; it's another thing to allow the developers to take advantage of a naive audience.

Why read the Darkfall forum so often if you dont like it?
And just because the OP dont like small indie developers doesnt mean some others do! Why not remove the WoW forum instead? Thay have been around for years and still we havent seen any proof of good gameplay!
So you see, all of those kinds of ideas are pointless. Better luck next time.
Oh, and please do tell why the 2005 beta was canceled. Usually after a beta, it doesn't take 3 years to "polish" things up.

DF is a game that 3 dudes in the basement are working on. They truly won't to make a game, but don't have the means to do it.
actully know youd ont know naything do you its 30 plus dev working on it being payed at aventurine. i can evenpull the screenshtos of them lined up working on it
While the chances of this game ever making it live are in the single digits, I still think the forum should remain on the very remote chance that it does.
Problem with games that take this long to make, the technology passes them by.
Nothing wrong with those that label it vaporware, because it is probably king of the vaporware titles at this point in time. The devs have done zip to promote it. It has never been seen at one of the big game shows where everyone shows off their products. Pretty good indication that they really don't have any product to show.
Yes please post your screenshots of the 30 darkfall devs working on the game.

Whenever I see this type of thread insisting that a forum be removed it always makes me ask myself, "What is it about this forum or game that threatens or scares people so?". This forum or any forum continuing to exist doesn't affect any of you personally so why cry for it's removal? Are you paying some 'per forum fee' that I'm not aware of? No? I didn't think so.
If this forum bothers you this much the solution is simple....just don't come here any more. If you feel threatened in some way by reading about Darkfall the solution is simple....Just don't read this section any more. See how simple that is? Trying to control what others read is just censorship no matter how you personally might feel about any given topic or try to justify it. Darkfall meets or exceeds all of the criteria for a listing here on MMORPG so it should stay no matter how you, I or anyone else feels personally about it.

Why do you guys spam the Darkfall section so much? Bored?
I wish we could take all fanboy groups who alliege themselves to one unreleased game or another in one place and let them fight themselves out of existence. It's so dumb to be so one sided over an unproven game. Don't listen to any of them.
could be a game in itself. obviously it would be RvR but with free for all features thrown in too. permadeath perhaps.
For shure current MMO market is missing such game like Darkfall

. For me Darkfall is a dream so I do not care if its vaporware, utopia or anyting else. Me and many of us just do not want to miss our dreams.
Think to Darkfall as deep look at a light future.
Where themepark games try to hide that they are copying WOW, games like Mortal Online and Darkfall make no attempt to hide their inspiration

Don't get me wrong, I really want this game to be released and I'm something of a fanboy myself. But now I'd like you to backup your statements and post the pictures of 30 Devs, and I would like to know why the 05 beta was stopped.
