I *have* played the present game. SOE gives out vet trials like they are candy because they are desperate to get us back. I played as recently as January of this year. The game is every bit as bad as I say.
How do you figure that SWG is doing well? All but three or four of the servers are empty (one server looks to only have about 30 regular players on it), the dev team has been decimated and now consists of a handful of very inexperienced people making things worse, and the players on the official forums are complaining more now than they ever have in the past. I would also argue about EQ2 doing well...it had a disastrous launch and never really recovered. It's certainly not as popular as SOE had hoped it would be.
Oh I know the game won't change for the better and I stopped holding out hope that they would come to their senses and give us a pre-CU server. I campaign against SWG because I want it to shut down so we can start work on a new Star Wars mmorpg. It should also fail as a lesson to other developers that you can't screw over your customer base and get away with it.
If a new person comes to the forum asking about the game I happily point them to the tryswg.com website so they can download the free trial and try it out. I make sure and tell them to play for a while after they get off the newbie station and so far nobody that I have had do that has actually bought the game. The game speaks for itself much better than I or any other angry vet could.
Unmax, we are happy for you that you enjoy playing SWG in the current... "form" it holds. However, we will not sit by and let you and the other fanbios manipulate people into playing the game based on your lies and your fanaticism that for some reason compels you to be dishonest with the money of other people.
We will always highly adivse any potential new players of the state the game is currently in and let them know there is a Free Trial for which they can make up their own mind.
I'm sorry you have a problem with this. I have used a lot of my Free Vet Trials, I have played this game very recently. I am going to play this game again soon and post screenshots so we can discount the lies about the populations and bugs in this game.

The ultimate fanbois here are the ones that have somehow screwed up the past game to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. When in fact the game problems HAVE NOT changed that is the point. The same stupid bugs exist now that exist then the game is no better or worse then it was then. What you MAY not find fun may be fun for others but that is not good enough for you. YOu sit here and tell people that this very game that you played that has not changed in actualy content and quality is now bad 3 years after the fact when somehow magically it was good. I'm a realist whereas a lot of people on ehre are not. When I find something fun I find it fun.
All the stupid problems you point out are exactly what happened then. AFk macros and botting, lag omg the lag was incredibly bad at relase. Sony's lack of customer service which was poor from day one. They have not changed the game has not changed just inside your head it has changed and then you sit here and tell people how much those how play it now are idiots and liars and fanbois when in fact we are at least HONEST about it.
I enjoy the game for what it is just ilke I did back then AND just like back then changes would be made that at times would make parts of the game unplayable. That's sony and always has been yet you put up with it for like 2 years . I see a bunch of hypocrites and people who in their utter total hatred will do everything in their power to try to get their warped message across.
YOu can't let go your stuck in a rut and you go in this cyclical round cirlce instead of just leaving and letting it go. Others have said the same thing and it looks plain old bad from an outsiders point of view NOT for the game but for the posters on the forum who have somehow turned a dislike for a game and company into something else. YOU DEMONIZE anyone who says anything postive on this borred. You call ANYONE who dares to play any sony game a total idiot.

PRE CU was by far the best version of this game. If anyone plan to try current crap ,don't forget to demand from $OE in official board to install the better game version on their server.
Ask for pre cu version , to get something worth for your money.

In response to something I saw... yes the NGE is doing amazingly well. It would seem fairly odd that you can lose 60 to 80 percent of the total subscribers in a game.. and then talk about how well its doing for the company.
