sieges are in game...I just posted a link to a video with some footage.
First of all, he was asking about open beta, not "in game". Second the video you posted is of a fictional npc on npc fight in a siege instance, hardly considered gameplay footage.
the devs have already stated on one of the question and answer blogs that they are saving cheetah 2, dx10, spellweaving, seiges etc, etc for release day. So more than likely we will not see the latest build until May 17th for preorders and the 20th for everyone else
Yeah. That's normal for beta testing: leave out the good stuff that probably needs major testing... cap levels at 13... don't let the "open beta" testers see what the game is really like. They'll patch in all the missing stuff and the fun on release day.
It's all normal. Suuuuuuure it is.
I'm smelling another Anarchy Online.
you do know beta is not a chance to see what the game is like, it's not a demo, the point of every single open beta is to stress test the areas that will be heavly populated on launch day, so that means to cap it and limit access.
it'a already in the general beta...you know, the one with the lvl 80 cap?
cheetah2 core is in the beta as well, they are slowly patching in the shaders and what not so that they can make sure they don't break anything in the process. Sieges are in, I already posted footage. I also just heard on guildcafe's interview with Athelan that quad-core support is in. Waiting for the transcript to be up and I will post it on the forums here.
Thanks for the reassurance, but it's hard for me not to be sceptical when I hear there will be two different beta version running with the "good stuff" kept out of the version most testers will see.
I hope AoC is an incredible game, but I remember AO's beta and release. It was not pretty.
Just curious, but what makes you think the "open beta" will be the one "most testers will see"? Unless you happen to have the numbers on how many closed beta testers there are, perhaps? And even if they are the most, so what? they are getting to see how the combat works, how quest are done, how different system specs are handled, etc. If that isn't enough for the open beta "testers" ( I use that term loosely in regards to Fileplanet being the only qualifier ), they can wait and see how launch goes before buying. very simple, really.
And Funcom has already stated many times that the betas are intended for testing, not marketing or getting free play time.
everyday i wake up, i pay my bills, do what i have to do, then i sit down and log on these boards to see whats up, and every day it amazes me how dumb ppl can be.
if your under 18 then i forgive you for the sheer fact that your young and dumb.
If you are veteran MMO player then you know what a beta truly is for, stress test, you know that this isnt the final product, its only a taste of the delicious chocolate cake. If you as a veteran come on these boards and QQ, that you didnt get to raid or see the entire game on a open beta, NOT the general beta, but the open beta. You need to re-evaluate your brain, and see if you have one.
finally i didn't forget this group, If you are a WoW fanatic, or a "Got pulled into buying Vanguard" section of ppl.
Then you need to chill for a bit, first off This company isnt blizzard, they dont cater to the 12 year olds, they cater to the adults. So if your looking for graphics that look like it came out of "Transformers: Beast Wars," this isnt the game for you, or if your looking for a game that is friendly in a pvp server this isnt going to be for you.
how about i just generalize it for the WoW ppl like this. IF YOU ARE A CAREBEAR THIS ISNT THE GAME FOR YOU!!!!!!!
For the vanguard ppl, well im just gonna put it like this. Your own fault for buying it, but dont go around saying that every game is going to be like vanguard, only because u were dumb enough to actually buy it and you like venting that stupidity, and aggression towards every game especially a game that is coming along pretty well.
no more "This is going to be another Vanguard," if i read that line one more time i might throw up all over my desk and keyboard.

You're completely naive if you don't think this is also a marketing event. Every contact they have with the general gaming public is marketing. I really don't see how this beta could be much different from it's release 20 days later. Don't even go there. If I find something I don't like fundamentally with the beta I won't be shelling out any money at release.
So ok i know we getting only to level 13....Fine , but are we getting everything else that we will expect on release like the final Graphics engine and client ect ? (Real world weather ect) or are we getting a older version like we did in the PvP weekend? If this has been answered somewhere please feel free to direct me.

Ah ok i musta missed that bit, was aware of the Dx10 build & Spellweaving, well i hope we have a client version thats decent without the silly little bugs of the PvP weekend but regardless there was next to no problems so cant knock them on that , only thing that bugged me was the plants and grass ect the shubbery just looked awful lol, but i guess that my only quirk so thats a good thing.

I agree I was hoping spellweaving would be in open beta, I dont know if i wanna roll a demmon dude or the DT first.
Im sure they have tested it internally.

Man this game might just end up being another Vanguard.
Currently playing:
LOTRO & WoW (not much WoW though because Mines of Moria rocks!!!!)
Looking Foward too:
Bioware games (Dragon Age & Star Wars The Old Republic)
Don't know anything about Vanguard except isn't that the one with silly animal heads on chars? How will it be the same?
Too funny and sad at the same time poor you for being so judgemental for your limited 10 minutes playtime.

Still waiting for an explanation of how it was the same.
