I'm on cable and it seems to be taking about the same. It is not our internet connections that is the bottleneck but fileplanet's server download speed, heck I'm even a paying fileplanet member. looks like we are all in the same boat. not a big deal though I have other mmo's to play and I doubt 250kb/s is going to affect me in game.

Yay! Finally got it, set at work for an hour hitting refresh to no avail. I went to lunch and came back, said I will try it one more time and then I was gonna give up and it went through! My work had it set to block that "security" image though, I had to work around that(I cheated lol) and was able to get the key. Now I think I will VTO to get the key(I work at HP as a tech for notebooks and we get Voluntary Time Off if its a low call volume).
download speeds were slower than the fileplanet download manager for me. I would say that it would be safer and more reliable to just download from fileplanet. no chance of pesky viruses or keyloggers. also if something were to go wrong you would have a stable starting point to troubleshoot from. even if it takes a couple of days you'll still be playing the beta a couple of weeks before its retail release.

No Key for me!!! It wouldnt let me load the page properly to dl it, o well, if anyone happens to have a extra key i would love to give it a swirl, been looking forward to this game for ages!

5 minutes for download to start, and now its gone back to 65 and moving between 64 and 65 for 2 hours already, fucking good job, fileplanet.
I took me roughly 2 and a half hours to start downloading. I'm sure it's going to be worse now since the queue was bigger when I finally got to download than when I started. Only getting 175 kbs/sec at best, which means roughly 20-22 hours of downloading. ah well, get to try it out tomorrow.

Thats how it is with the contest keys anyway...100 keys per day until all 300 have been given or put back in the drawing.

Funcom gave Fileplant a lot of keys, but Fileplanet either:
not enough people were interested so they "have" to get rid of the keys.
A) purposely withheld some to get people to subscribe knowing they'd do this free grab later on
C) event was such a success Funcom gave them more as freebies

I'm downloading mine from http://games.internode.on.net/filelist.php?app=569&menu=16 as I gave up on Fileplanet one going 30kb/sec said it would take 3 days.

Man this sucks. Got the key, but apparently I can't download it. I got the key in Opera browser, and I can't use fileplanet download manager in Opera.
I can't paste the download link into another browser either, I'll just get booted to the http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/ageofconan/beta/closed.aspx page.

Yay. I got a crazy idea. I manually wrote all the fileplanet cookie content from opera into firefox, and I'm now in queue
