~Just got into beta!~ 3 accounts =D

Not only did I win a beta spot, but I won THREE, which basicaly meant I got to pick 2 people to get into beta with me. Chose my brother/roommate to give one account too. The other I gave to my long time friend since highschool who's sinced move off to Arizona, Nylian.
The only bad part is, I've been sworn to secrecy as to how I earned these 3 beta accounts. The reason I was givin 3, was because there were 3 of us involved in the project that won us the accounts.
Installing right now, we'll all be logging on at the same time, and havin' some champagne. Ahh what a good night. We'll be on TS (Team Speak), if anyone has any questions or what not.
You can also talk to us on our guild forums, www.silentreign.net I should still frequent these boards... Though, everyone else who's gotten into beta, seems to stop posting entirely on these forums. Hopefuly that won't be the case with me, I'm proud of my "Elite" member status

. I'm happy for you, I just hope a key drops into my lap sooner or later. I don't want to play Open Beta unless I get a feel for the game first so I won't be like every other confused person there.

Yeah, I can't exactly say how I got the keys, just that I won them through "the normal channels".
It was a combined effort....
As for the beta itself... Fricking awesome.
We all logged in at the same time and toasted with Champagne over team speak. Our first characters were Troll Warrior, Troll Shaman, Tauren Druid. Took a little for my bro the Tauren to join up with us, quite the ways to walk when starting out. Other than that, it's proving to be everything I thought it would be.
In my massive glee last night I was telling everyone I knew, and someone is actualy full on p!ssed at me for not giving him one of the accounts. There's a very solid reason Nylian and my bro got those accounts, in every moral aspect they deserved em. Oh well, if your friends can't be happy for you, then they're not very good friends.
Oh, and this game is worth the wait. For anyone who hasn't played an mmorpg before yer just going to slide right into this game and catch on pretty fast. For anyone who HAS, (played a crap load myself) this game's little details are going to amaze you. It's all these tiny things you don't really notice unless yer looking for it. Lots of stuff that some mmorpgs either have, or don't have, that don't really effect the game play at all, but stand to make it look a lot better. Birds flying over head, ambient life like squirrels and hares, that exist for no other purpose than to exist, unlike most games where the only monsters you see, are ones that are there for you to fight and xp off of. The way the characters chest moves in and out as they breath, they blink, the way they move around when just standing there, stretch, lean it's awesome. All the little tweaks to the user interface, F1-F5 targets dif party members, but the awesome part is ctrl+F1-F5 targets that party members pet, THAT is awesome, after coming from so many mmorpg's without a feature like that. The way your team shows up on the mini map, the way the round robbin looting works. The voice emotes, where your character says something audiable to those around him/her. All the sound effects when in battle, the crashes thuds and "ARGH"'s. Very glad it's not some quiet little trade of hits. The way each and every piece of armor shows up on your character; gloves, boots (which are more like shin gaurds on trolls), bracers, cloak. Although the early cloaks are more like bibs on backwards... Oh well, gives me something to look forward too.
Best part about last night, we were always moving forward, at no point did we get to a mob spawn and stand there pulling and camping it until we leveled. Infact, I don't think I even really saw a mob camp. They were all spread out pretty well, felt more natural that way. Worse mob spawn ever was lin2, or anygame for that matter where mobs spawn in these little invisable circles and you spend your entire level standing there pulling. I know people say WoW is still an xp grind, it's just a quest grind instead, though this is FAR more entertaining than any mob camping xp grind. I normaly hate doing quests, but the way these ones are is like a single player game, they keep you moving out into the world, exploring new areas, checking the dungeons, and you feel like you have a purpose, cause yer there to kill a mob or retrieve an item, yer always doing something. We were level 5 before we even noticed we were leveling and we had been lead off to a nearby city.

Oh funniest moment last night... We're nearing the end of a quest of killing marines and sailers, last room of the castle, 5 marines and the boss mob, I stand at the door way ready to pull em to us, and my bro just runs right into the middle of them and aggros them all... He had fallen asleep and sorta drifted his way in there...

No such thing as buddy keys. You either win it as an individual, or no cookie for you.
Multiple chars from the same account can't log on at the same time, you arn't even able to log onto an account if someone else is using it at the time.

He's only put 3 up atm, but I just sent him 1.5mb Zipped worth of SS's. He'll probably have them up within the hour. I wish I could convey the feeling of the game better, some of it takes the music and the motion of the life around you to really sink in. I keep getting that light airy feeling in my gut, like when yer watching a movie and the hero barely saves someone, I'm not sure there's a word for it, but I know we've all felt it at a movie at some point or another. Never had a game give me that feeling though.

Congrats!!! I personally would like you to keep us posted on your experience. I will say this I most games at first seem incredible but after a few months of settling in, it becomes ho hum. Well I hope this is not the case with WOW. Enjoy the newness while it lasts.

i have mixed views on beta myself though betaed lots of prouducts stayed with some games long time the newness and the shiney box feature is gone
