lol j/k on another not i agree 100% with this thread and think if more people not only upgraded their pc's but actually knew how to really use(optimize) them a lot of the complaints would have never been made in the first place

lol dunno so much about 5 years old my pcs just over a year old pentium core duo 3 ghz nvidea 8800 card and 3 gigs of ram . it runs pretty much ever new game smoothly on high graphics settings but it had real trouble with the age of conan beta . i also have several friends playing the beta with similar systems and some slightly higher , every one of them had performance issues when entering a populated area , and oh yeah its nothing to do with defragging ,other programs running in the background , malware , spyware , not getting the latest graphics card drivers ( cmon how hard is it yo go to the nvidea site and download them ) or graphics card set up or even tweaking around with the performance settings in game .the truth is that age of conan (the beta client at least) is a massive system hog . if the released client is anythiing similar believe me it wont be people with a five year old pc with celeron in it that ll be posting on here upset with funcom it ll be pretty much everyone with an average mid range pc .
the advice i d give anyone who has any doubts about weather there pc can handle it is wait untill either the game has a free trial see how well it runs before you buy it or a least wait untill its reduced in price . the chances are if you dont you ll be wasting your money .
either that or go out and get a new pc but make sure its a high spec gaming machine .it does look like a good game but worth spending a lot of money when your current pc plays pretty much everything else just yet ? nah i dont think so .
i predict a limited success something on a par with lord of the rings or maybe slighly less
It seems to me that those who complain about those who whine fall in the same boat. Basically, just put a lid on it, discipline yourself to keep emotions in check and not be so heavily influenced by what others think, say or do.

I agree with ghoul31... this thread is truckload full of fail all due to the preemptive whining of Zaxx.
They should just open new section for AoC whiners, where they could post their "reviews" and complaints. Would give more room for the real topics.

Hence, if you actively read those posts/threads, you have no basis of complaining about them posting as it's YOUR fault for reading those posts/threads. OR...

i agree it has improved vastly in the last couple of weeks in terms of lag etc the beta client is definatly a lot more stable now . in terms of how it plays now most people i know are still saying it does nt run well enough on thier mid range systems for thier liking . now you might see a lot of posts in these forums saying how well it runs on thier (average) pc , i think a lot of these posts are down to personal taste of how well a game needs to run for them to enjoy it (some may simply be telling lies). when my character freezes in tortage only to find when he unfreezes i m somewhere further along the road would simply frustrate me . ( nb this really only happens in the citys ) . this was still happening today when i logged in .
the fact they have definatly improved client makes me now think the performance problems a lot of people are having are that thier pcs are not really upto running conan smoothly and not down to the beta client . i know its only a beta and maybe things are different with the actual release client but i do think op is right that there will be a lot of disgruntled players posting in these forums in the coming weeks . where hes wrong is that it will be people with pcs that are low end machines it will be also people whose systems are somewhere inbetween the minimum and recomended requirements .
i m sure there will be a lot of fanboys and tech heads that will be saying that its down to the way the users set up the pc . maybe this will be true in some cases but in the vast majority it will be down to the simple fact that funcom overestimated what the average mid range system could handle .
i dont see hundreds of thousands of people rushing out to upgrade to play one game .
performance aside conan looks like a great game . just be certain your rig can handle it before you buy .
