People need to pull their heads out of the sand and have more respect for themselves and those around them. I hear many times how people think it will keep the kids away, I see just the opposite. This will draw pre-teen/teen/post teen pervs like flies to dung. The upside is on a PVP server atleast you would have good reason to attack these pukes. If anyone has a buddy key throw it my way please. I would like to see if this game warrants subscribing.

One of the best examples of Sarcasm I have ever seen. to the OP, you get a +10 interweb points for this post. Seeing all the lamers coming here and posting how the game sucks so much after playing it for a few hours has been a total joke and I love how the OP has taken it and made fun of those threads in the best way possible.
Anyone who thinks this was a serious thread really needs to step back and take a breather for once.
Don't have to have a PhD to figure out if the game suits you after a few hours or not. Do you force yourself to sit though a horrible movie or finish eating that nasty dish you bough? Not, if you don't like something, you know right away. No reason to force it apon yourself any longer than you have too.
Weather the OP was being truthfull or humorous, don't matter. Their words bear a truth to them anyways. AoC does in fact suck!!! I canceled my sub on my second day. And no, no one can have my account. What a stupid question to even ask. I may drop in in a few months to recheck it out. As I do for COX and Lineage II as well as many other games. I might go upto a year or longer, before rechecking on a game I once played.

A very well crafted and well written statement Elikal. Society these days are so complex and so daunting that kids have no choice but to loose control. Everybody is trying to compete to be the top dog that they forget to stop and smell the roses. Heck they even forget the roses are even there and walk all over them to get to their next destination. Never realizing and never knowing they just stepped on a piece of nature they may never see again. Now a days life is like one big twisted game of survivial. It's kill or be left behind in a world that is so unforgiving on any given day. I wish I could do something(Lord knows I'm trying, and so does the King). But I just can't seem to push the right buttons and it frustrates me to no end. It makes me depressed and sad knowing I can do something but yet, am doing nothing.
Maybe we've got to be patient for change to come. We can't force it, just got to let it come when ka wills it to us.

Are you sure about that Mordria? Are you sure this is just a GAME? I would have to respectfully disagree with you statement Lady Mordria. I think AOC is more than a game. I think it is a sign of things to come. A sign we all need to pay attention too. The orginial poster has made some valid points. His words ring true and his heart is pure. Ever since the fall of the old galaxy the MMORPG industry has been in a constant of turmoil. We have lost stability and we have lost order. We have lost our sense of right and wrong and we will be close to loosing our minds if we don't open our eyes and realize the error of our ways.

If you cannot take the good and bad feedback from other players, then go play some offline game. And dont try to come onto the forum King and talk down to anyone else here in defense of the OP. Our opinions matter, just like the OP's do. But what the OP author has to understand, is that this ultimately is a virtual world and not everyone in this world isnt going to be nice. Im not trying to be rude, but the simple problem here is that he joined a game had a bad experiance and now is qqing about it on the forums. Do you expect us not to make comments about it? Seriously? Markoraos I am not trying to insult anybody. YOU are the one being insulting. And YOU are the one who is being MEAN!!! I am ashamed to admit it, but I am a very sensitive person. It is a flaw I have been trying to get rid of for years. But to my dismay, it won't go away. I am not saying AOC is a bad game. I'm just saying the people and the environment within the game world made me sad and angry, it even brought me to tears. You may think there is nothing here to see, but I believe otherwise. I think there is a lot to see in this thread. And there is a lot that needs to be seen in the MMORPG industry.
We need games and MMORPG more geared toward nurturing and helping our youth. Give our children games filled with violence, gore and booblets is not a positive sign. Where is the creativity? Where is the expression? Where is the excitment and joy of the art of roleplay. Nobody likes to roleplay anymore. It is like a fallen art, slowly fading away in the darkness. Slowly fading away into time, never to show its face again. I have tried countless times to convince the community and the mods to have a role play section on this forum, but all I get as a response is silence. I hear nothing. I hear no sound.
The more days that go by the more my heart bleeds for the future of the industry. The future of the gamers. When will we see the light? When will we have our galaxy back? When will we see our stars and when will we see our wars? Please, somebody tell me. Somebody show me the way!!!

Call me cold, but a good game design is a good game design. You can have the most brutal and exciting setting which plays like autopilot frustrating crap and the most flowery pacifist one that plays like a broken bottle brawl on speedballs.
A game is always and foremost a game. It is a set of mathematical interdependencies - a closed system of checks, balances, feedbacks and goals. The fluff is always secondary. No amount of blood and gore and boobs will make a game intense if the rules aren't designed to do so. Look past the veil and see the game for what it really is. Imagine if it was placed in a different setting - would it still evoke the same feelings in you? This is the true test of any game.

Son, I don't think you know who you are messing with. They don't call me the King for nothing and its about time you understand why that's the case. My job here on this forum is to protect those who have been wounded. I show them the light and show them how to fight back against the forces who caused them harm. Now the young man who started this thread didn't want pity, nor did he want people to feel sorry for him. I believe what the kid wanted was comfort and sympathy. It's the people markos, yeah game design does play a role in how good the game is, but it is the people that makes a game more than a game. The people/community are the heart and soul of the game!! I think its funny people blame music and games for kids being bad or what not, Like how they blamed music and games for some school shootings. Dont blame the music or games, blame the way those people were raised. I listen to death metal, play GTA, and played basically every gory game out there, and yet im not one bit effected by it. I never ever disrespect my elders, I never yell at someone out of disrespect, unless they have disrespected me first of course. So if your kids or whoever is being influenced by things like AoC, look at yourself as the parent and smack yourself for being a failure as a parent. In other words get over it. Obviously if i had kids they would not play a game like this untill they are at least old enough to realise the difference between fake and reality.

Weather the OP was being truthfull or humorous, don't matter. Their words bear a truth to them anyways. AoC does in fact suck!!! I canceled my sub on my second day. And no, no one can have my account. What a stupid question to even ask. I may drop in in a few months to recheck it out. As I do for COX and Lineage II as well as many other games. I might go upto a year or longer, before rechecking on a game I once played.

I worked in a school once, and there are also good kids, so its not only kids, its generally a loss of respect, of manners and a general rise in egomania and aggression. But thats the fault of our days. Turbo-capitalism stirred the competitive nature of people and everyone is driven by the fear to fall behind now. Its just a small reflection of the big things going wrong, there is no longer an escape in the games. They are as chaotic and degenerated as our societies have become, everyone only fighting for himself and against every other. Its not all are like this, but more and more.

A very well crafted and well written statement Elikal. Society these days are so complex and so daunting that kids have no choice but to loose control. Everybody is trying to compete to be the top dog that they forget to stop and smell the roses. Heck they even forget the roses are even there and walk all over them to get to their next destination. Never realizing and never knowing they just stepped on a piece of nature they may never see again. Now a days life is like one big twisted game of survivial. It's kill or be left behind in a world that is so unforgiving on any given day. I wish I could do something(Lord knows I'm trying, and so does the King). But I just can't seem to push the right buttons and it frustrates me to no end. It makes me depressed and sad knowing I can do something but yet, am doing nothing.
Maybe we've got to be patient for change to come. We can't force it, just got to let it come when ka wills it to us.

I think it is a sign of things to come. A sign we all need to pay attention too. The orginial poster has made some valid points. His words ring true and his heart is pure. Ever since the fall of the old galaxy the MMORPG industry has been in a constant of turmoil. We have lost stability and we have lost order. We have lost our sense of right and wrong and we will be close to loosing our minds if we don't open our eyes and realize the error of our ways.
The orginial poster was trying to do some good in this world and he was batted away like a worthless bug on a wall. This would have never happened in the old galaxy. It simply wouldn't.

Yeah, this is actually a laughing matter, this is a game PERIOD. If you dont have the common sense to understand that, then dont play period. If you cannot take the good and bad feedback from other players, then go play some offline game. And dont try to come onto the forum King and talk down to anyone else here in defense of the OP. Our opinions matter, just like the OP's do. But what the OP author has to understand, is that this ultimately is a virtual world and not everyone in this world isnt going to be nice. It is a flaw I have been trying to get rid of for years. But to my dismay, it won't go away. I am not saying AOC is a bad game. I'm just saying the people and the environment within the game world made me sad and angry, it even brought me to tears. You may think there is nothing here to see, but I believe otherwise. We need games and MMORPG more geared toward nurturing and helping our youth. Give our children games filled with violence, gore and booblets is not a positive sign. Where is the creativity? Where is the expression? Where is the excitment and joy of the art of roleplay. Nobody likes to roleplay anymore. It is like a fallen art, slowly fading away in the darkness. Slowly fading away into time, never to show its face again. I have tried countless times to convince the community and the mods to have a role play section on this forum, but all I get as a response is silence. I hear nothing. I hear no sound.
The more days that go by the more my heart bleeds for the future of the industry. The future of the gamers. When will we see the light? When will we have our galaxy back? When will we see our stars and when will we see our wars? Please, somebody tell me. Somebody show me the way!!!

Call me cold, but a good game design is a good game design. You can have the most brutal and exciting setting which plays like autopilot frustrating crap and the most flowery pacifist one that plays like a broken bottle brawl on speedballs.
A game is always and foremost a game. It is a set of mathematical interdependencies - a closed system of checks, balances, feedbacks and goals. The fluff is always secondary. No amount of blood and gore and boobs will make a game intense if the rules aren't designed to do so. Look past the veil and see the game for what it really is. Imagine if it was placed in a different setting - would it still evoke the same feelings in you? This is the true test of any game.
Are we talking man boobs here? Is this a game where you can actually create a 450 lb male eunich character with man boobs? Gawd, how hot is that!
Do not fear, for as we approach the end of the mayan calendar and the earth and sun allign with the center of the galaxy, the people of the world will begin to move towards a higher lvl of conscienceness(sp). We will begin to leave the ego behind and begin to understand what it is our soul desires.

It's the people markos, yeah game design does play a role in how good the game is, but it is the people that makes a game more than a game. The people/community are the heart and soul of the game!!
