Your daughter may well see a few boobs on the TV before she is 18, and I believe she make have a little taste in alcohol before then too. But I bet she is less likely to be in a workshouse at 10 years old, stuffed up a children or be left destitute in an orphanage as her parents were killed in a blitz.

in simple terms, why do things which as people we found unacceptable 30 years ago now become acceptable? why and for what benefit?
For example, imagine a game created 20 years ago, its got an 18 certificate and only 18+ year olds play it. then after 10 years, the criteria which makes a film or game classifed as 18 is changed to a 15 certificate...so basically what was not ok for a 15 year old 10 years ago is now ok.
Ask yourself why.

That generation has grown and are adults, still passionate about a massive media phenomenum and revenue making industry that demand more from their chosen entertainment. I dont want to play Pac man and Pyjamara any more. I want adult games with serious themes. i want Deux Ex storylines over Leisure Suit Larry.
The industry will respond beacuse the adults have the cash, this generation of gaming adults is largely the original customer base and we pass that down to our kids.

I'm sorry guys, I had to do it. I had to leave the game. I had to cancel my subscription because the game just wasn't for me. I couldn't take the eye candy. I couldn't stand the boobs looking at me, staring at me, enticing me to play with them. Enticing me to love them. I do not like being mocked and those nasty little booblets were mocking me and I couldn't take it. I could not stand the blood and the gore. It was too much for me. It was too much for my soul. I love the color purple but I hate the color red and Age of Conan was filled with red. It was filled with gore. It was filled with sadness and it was filled with tears. And than there was the community. Those people were so mean to me. Espically the kids. Who would have thought the sweet little kiddies could be so cruel and have such foul mouths. They called me all kinds of names. One even told me to go play in traffic, can you believe that?!?! I thought this would be a place where I could make friends but after a few hours of in game play, I was sadly mistaken. Nobody would listen to me. Nobody wanted to talk or share. All they wanted to do was kill stuff, while beating their chest to prove their manliness in battle. All I wanted to do in game was help people. I wanted to form friendships and bonds that would last for a very long time. Sadly I do not think this will ever happen. And with a heavy heart. I must say my goodbyes. My only hope is that in another world and another time I will have my place in the spotlight. My time to shine will be soon and it will be glorious. Wrong! When I was a kid it was PG, R or X. I saw R rated films when I was around 17 or so - in the company of my mother. I didn't see what would be termed an X rated film until I was in my 30s, don't have any need for it. So much for your porn desensitization. Some people sneak in, some don't. Its also in the eye of the beholder. Many schools teach how civilized the romans where. Actually the celtics had a much more advanced culture then the romans. Celtics had laws of protection of old people and children while the romans just have thrown their unwanted babies onto the waste dump. Celtic womans have been equal while the roman womens have been house pets.
The modern western world is much more "roman"then "celtic". Thats why i think thibgs have been better

How many people do you know that watch or play films or games intended for older people? I bet everyone on this forum watched an 18 certificate film when they were between 12 - 16.... and I bet most of you would argue that its ok but thats what I'd expect from someone whos has become exploted and honestly believes its the norm.....and comptly missing the point of its an 18 certificate for a reason.
Wrong! When I was a kid it was PG, R or X. I saw R rated films when I was around 17 or so - in the company of my mother. I didn't see what would be termed an X rated film until I was in my 30s, don't have any need for it. So much for your porn desensitization. Some people sneak in, some don't. The ones that do happen to show up more online.
