I think I'll make a good post in a year from now of all these type of posts when both games are beyond their launch and in a general status.
lol... a flawless launch... don't make me laugh. No top-line MMORPG has ever had a flawless launch (yes, even LOTRO had it's flaws). Call me crazy but I think I'll call you delusional and desperate for either the failure of AoC or the success of WAR (or both). Both games will do fine.
whats wrong with locking forums i believe it was done to reduce traffic bit shortsighted moved but can't believe them.
They made the forums private because it's a "M" rated game.
So, you can take the tinfoil hat off and drop the conspiracy theory.

Like I said, both games will do fine. I'm eagerly wishing for the best of both. I was not against his obvious love for WAR; I was posting against the fact that he eagerly believes that the game will be flawless. Not sure how that was seen as disrespectful to the games, maybe to the actual poster, but not what you seem to be belittling me for.
I also apologize for not reading your post about being mature and respecting other games... I guess I should go through everyone's post history and read their speeches

lol@ ppl who say they have somthing to hide by blocking the forums to only paying customers, maybe they dont want to deal with a million trolls that would be trolling the forums constantly. i dont want to see "WoW will PWNZOR AoC" a million times.
No offence but stop talking out your backside, my guild has 200 ppl in and there is maybe 5 people with tech issues and another 5 who thought the game was not what they expected, every one is having a blast.

we will all see how good of a job funcom does in about six months.
they have a fun game but they over hyped a lot of features that didn't quite pan out. their tech support and customer service is garbage but their game sure does look pretty. my wife and I were in OB and EA and the game ran pretty well for both of us until last sunday. it still runs great for me but crashes constantly for her when it ran just fine the day before, and if her computer can run VG at mostly high settings it should be able to run this (ohh wait it used to).
my opinion (and that's all it is) funcom was pressured to release their game in an unfinished state by its investors, that had stalled as much as they could.
It is a sad fact that most companies will release an unfinished product to make money for further development instead of releasing a finished product. they need to be very careful with this approach anyone who can recall VG's launch knows all too well how it can play out.
again only time will tell now.

Clever things.
I just played 20 lvls in Age of Conan and it went flawlessly, no bugs whatsoever. Every quest went off perfectly and now i am getting ready to leave the island of Tortage for the mainland...can't wait

No matter what a company does to make a game they will never please everyone. Someone will always find something they don't like about it. If you just take it for what it is, it's very enjoyable

Sorry, I wasn't specific when I posted that. I meant the idea of having private forums because the game is Mature makes some sense. And if it makes you feel any better, your response confused me a bit too.

The ONLY reason a mmo company does that is when they have something to hide and they aren't finished with milking box sales yet.
See: Hellgate London for a very recent example.
Lord of the rings did it...infact for memory they did it just before beta. thats right unless you were in the beta you could not access the forums. anyway its becoming standard MMO practise. it makes sense in a business point of view (these are businesses we are talking about) and gives the devs a bit more time to iron out the bugs.seriously though if you have problems then wait a week or two and they should have ironed out most of the bugs. every game has these problems at launch but after a week or two the majority of people are fine.
MMO wish list:
-Changeable worlds
-Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads
