Okay the OP is NOT talking about bugs.  HE TALKING ABOUT COMPANIES LIEING ABOUT CONTENT/PROMISES.

Now hopefully you will all read that.  Bugs are going to always be in a game, epseically when it just started.  But having promised content and then its not there is a form of frawd.

    Bait and Switch anyone?

Actually its a myth mmo's can't be taken back. All the company would need to do is delete the keys account and then it can be reused.

Its been that way in the computer industry since the release of the first floppy drive.   The main difference between a car and a piece of software is that you cant make an exact replica of a car for a few cents, then return to the orignal car to the manufacturer, then drive the copy.

Of course the software industry isn't to blame, they have released a lot of garbage.    The amount of garbage released very likely leads to more software piracy.   In the end both the consumer and industry suffer.   Yet it does seem quality nearly always sells.

Very legitimate concerns. The title said you got banned for this. The end of your statement, you said "I'm sure I'll get banned for this".  Did you?  I would see it as over reaction if they did.

I would recommend in the future that you don't purchase mmo's, or wait a long time after launch, as they will never have completed mmo. It can't be done. Sorry

If you are worried about a software company selling you software that isn't complete or has so called defects, then by all means wait til someone reviews it or there is a demo/trial.

As far as you posting this, you and me, and everyone else who plays video games knows that you can't return software that is opened.  If you don't like it then I suggest you don't play.  Or find a friend and try their copy, or wait for said demo/trial.  I think your post is trolling and I think the moderators are correct to ban you.

way to miss the point aguitha

I've been playing AoC in beta and early access and there are some issues that aren't working.  The tradeposts ect...  As far as the game running my hardware its been fine.  No issues or anything to speak of.  I think they have kept the game up quality and stanards of recent MMOs.  Maybe you've had issues or whatnot, but don't make claims that because you've had them, that everyone else has,  many many people are satisfied with the game.

If I had been given a choice, play the game now, or wait until we fix the AH/Bank I'd have chosen the first option.  But perhaps there are serious bugs/lack of fuctionality that I should be concerned with?

Just know you are posting this on the site that gave this game the "Highest rating theyve ever given a MMO" And dont tell me i am wrong for being ok with a game with 7 noticable bugs in the first 3 hours.  Some people are bug nazis and some are not. UNLIKE YOU, I do not look for bugs, and when I happen to stumble upon a bug, i either dont notice it, or dont care, as long as it doesnt completly kill the experience.. Regardless of the bugs, this has been the most immersive game i have ever played. Just so you know, the proof that most people think your opinion sucks balls is in the fact that AOC was a successful launch... Personally i would much rather play one of the best designed /immersive mmo's with a few bugs rather than a crapply designed mmo with fewer bugs. (Am not hardcore or shooting at people who dont like the game, on a personal level, i can understand why people would dislike it, but I cant stand idiots who think they can tell what the "Masses" are doing wrong.

I have been playing this game since early access and I have to say this game hasn't crashed on me once nor has it even encountered a bug that I noticed in my game play I have 5 chars my highest being 23 and I hate to say but WTF are you talking about. Are you mad because you had to patch after release? Are you serious I wonder what other mmo's would be like if they didn't patch after release? Anyone? Anyone? Even the acclaimed WoW has bugs still and it has been out how many years? LOL, all jokes! I rather enjoy AoC a lot I played tons of MMO's and glad to finally see something that has caught my eye again. My advice to everyone who is interested in AoC, take what people say with a grain of salt because everyone's experience or perspective is different!

I agree with the OP in a lot of his points.

I feel subscription based games need to lure subscribers ... for free... or at the very least not charge for the client.

If you (the Developer) are confident in your product you won't have any problem with that.

Against my own advice I bought age of Conan 5 days ago.    I have not  opened it and have kept the receipt.   I am leaning towards returning it (unopened of course).

I'm a bit confused, everyone is raving about how there is missing content but no one has mentioned any content that has been missing, it sounds like a bunch of  fanboys ranting to me, unless you can name specific content that they said would be there that isn't I suggest you all stop posting because you are just pulling this out of your ass, I could keep saying WoW is a bad game because it lied about content is was going to deliver, and that doesn't tell you why I'm mad, but I will admit the way they ban members for such a long time is a little radical.

  • ElJackylElJackyl Member Posts: 54

I think some of you are missing the op's point. He got banned for posting that message. Sounds to me like he struck a nerve. All of you are saying, "Well that's just the way games work." But what he is saying is that maybe everyone should not be so complacent. He is pointing out the fact that the QA teams should have noticed a lot of the glaring issues. One issue that is just totally unforgiveable. Load screen camping, WTF. I'm not one to whine about being ganked but when you are just defenseless and get it just because you are going in to a new area, that is just plain wrong. There is nooooo way they missed that going in to launch. Would it not be hard to have a 30 second invulnerability when loading. Problem solved. Now are you really going to give money to what is supposed to be a professional company making a quality product?

if you paid with a credit card, call the CC company and contest the charge.  Business sign an agreement with CC companies that make the CC company the final arbiter.

LOL. That is true. I work for a company that takes a lot of online orders and we get a lot of fraud. The card companies always get the benefit of the doubt on a charge back.
