Because Gabriel would not tell someone that Jesus was not crucified and that salvation comes through obedience to a law. That is why. The main TWO (there are more, but for the sake of this reply, it is the death of Jesus and salvation through works) aspects of Christianity was changed in Islam. There are many more, like the name of Yahweh is now Allah. Muslims believe that Jesus was *just* a prophet, yet I call Him fully God.
Anyways, the only two places that I can think of off the top of my head where Gabriel shows up is with Daniel, who illistrates that Jesus is God, then at Jesus' birth, once again giving the deity of Jesus. It would not make since for that same angel to show up, and disregard everything it knew and forsake his Maker and start a new religion.

I hope you are kidding. Because that statement is very ignorant. Not only was the bible translated from the original Hebraic text into a multitude of languages (Latin and Greek being two of the first) with errors of translation being introduced in every instance. There were other changes, different books of the bible being split and combined and others being left out totally. It took 400 years for christians to decide which books to call the "word of god".

Hehe I do. Well the thing is I'm against everyone who think its ok to bash religion and blame religion. I mean if that's the case Alcohol should be banned...It's ok to drink in small amounts but so many people binge drink. Does the alcohol cause the problem on it's own...no. I've been apart of many long length discussions. In fact, I'm apart of four at the moment. However, from personal experience, having them on open forum discussion is a foolish move. Hi, yes I do believe in god and in fact i'm a MUSLIM. When people see this, i always get insulted because of it but I think that they don't truly know what Islam is about. Most people get their info from the news, from which Islam gets a lot of bashing because of terrorism. What most people don't bother to find out is that what these terrorists do is completely against Islam because they kill innocent people. Also I never read about people disproving Islam. There are so many scientifically erroneous messages in the Qu'ran, however.. every one that doesn't happen to make sense scientifically, you could disregard as just "metaphorical".
I could get you in another corner, something that couldn't be metaphorical, but then you could just disregard it as "that's the wrong translation."
I don't like debating Muslims on this topic, and I have for years, because they think their book is infalliable.. so what's the point? The Koran has tons of scientific errors and the only "miracles" come from wishful translation and interpretation. It's tiresome, and I don't deal with it.

I don't think they look like pegs. And the Qur'an didn't even go that far to say it.. you're just wishingfully interpretting that it meant the mountains have deep roots shaped like pegs. What happened to it being clear? The Qur'an boasts that it's messages are always clear, but they never are.

Is there an overly powerful being taking care of everything? No, I dont have any reason to believe that save maybe to comfort myself - which is ok if someone wants that. I do think there is more than natural science says, tho, something like an energy like the Force, I could imagine something along those lines. (Not with the supernatural uber powers, tho.) If there are higher evolved energetic beings, they sure dont care a lot what happens to us. Apparently.

What do you say about the fact that the Qur'aan has sentences which hint at details scientific knowlege in regards to the Earth, I don't want to go into great detail, read it up yourself. I'm not an idiot, I think blindly following what scriptures say is stupid but that is proof. They didnt have microscopes about 1000 years ago did they and do say crap about the Qur'aan being altered or misinterpretation because non-muslims have translated the text also.

Most people can easily determine there is a God through the number or miraculous occurrences. Most atheist/agnostic believe there is a logical explanation for these phenomena, but there is TOO much phenomena for all to be coincidence. They also refuse to examine any phenomena that has to do with supernatural because they've already got their minds made up.
The NDE is my favorite God phenomena because 2 close members of my family went through the experience. And the change in them was like somthing unreal had happened.
Religion has warped the image of God around and this is why we have people that claim he doesnt exist.
Near death experiences are not evidence at all and the fact that you are convinced that there is a god because of NDE just shows how easily you believe something.
NDE don't prove there is an afterlife and don't prove the existance of a god, the brain is known to go through different states when under pressure, in fact we can now recreate an NDE situation by having higher pressure.
Ofcourse there are a lot of NDE's, there will be more and more as technology gets better and we get better at bringing people back who are at the edge of death.
The reason im a firm believer in NDE is because like i said, ive had family go through the experience and they acted like something profound has happened.
Also the reason NDE's shed light on the world is because of the philisophical concepts explained in peoples experiences. Ive read hundreds of experiences and they all follow a basic pattern, and the philosophy revealed means this isn''t just a brain malifunction.
I encourage anyone to read NDE's because they teach alot about life in general.

And if you havent alrdy guessed at what happened, he went through an NDE and started going to church in the later weeks after. I dunno if anyone can explain it, but tbh i think i would be lucky to expirience something so deep and out of this world in my lifetime.

NDE's can have a major effect on the credulous. There are literally hundreds of stories that are similar to the one you told. It's like the old, wrong, saying, "There are no Atheists in foxholes." The reason for the saying is, people get frightened, have no control over their current situation, and look to a supernatural source to put things right. The saying has, in some form or another, existed since the invention of gods because human-beings do not handle situations where they have no control very well. This is the source of religion, and why religion will always be around. We knock on wood, we wear our lucky underwear during sports, and we try not to think about what bad things might occur in case that causes them to happen, oh, and as MC Hammer might say, that's why we pray. We're superstitious by nature. NDE's are simply the product of a dying body going through a traumatic experience, and we expect things not to get weird? Heck, I've had dreams that are on par with NDE's. But we understand dreams, right? We'll understand, fully, NDE's some day as well. Just give it time.

Anyways, the only two places that I can think of off the top of my head where Gabriel shows up is with Daniel, who illistrates that Jesus is God, then at Jesus' birth, once again giving the deity of Jesus. It would not make since for that same angel to show up, and disregard everything it knew and forsake his Maker and start a new religion.

I hope you are kidding. Because that statement is very ignorant. Not only was the bible translated from the original Hebraic text into a multitude of languages (Latin and Greek being two of the first) with errors of translation being introduced in every instance. There were other changes, different books of the bible being split and combined and others being left out totally. It took 400 years for christians to decide which books to call the "word of god".

There are so many scientifically erroneous messages in the Qu'ran, however.. every one that doesn't happen to make sense scientifically, you could disregard as just "metaphorical".
I could get you in another corner, something that couldn't be metaphorical, but then you could just disregard it as "that's the wrong translation."

Religion has warped the image of God around and this is why we have people that claim he doesnt exist.
Near death experiences are not evidence at all and the fact that you are convinced that there is a god because of NDE just shows how easily you believe something.NDE don't prove there is an afterlife and don't prove the existance of a god, the brain is known to go through different states when under pressure, in fact we can now recreate an NDE situation by having higher pressure.
Ofcourse there are a lot of NDE's, there will be more and more as technology gets better and we get better at bringing people back who are at the edge of death.
The reason im a firm believer in NDE is because like i said, ive had family go through the experience and they acted like something profound has happened.
Also the reason NDE's shed light on the world is because of the philisophical concepts explained in peoples experiences. Ive read hundreds of experiences and they all follow a basic pattern, and the philosophy revealed means this isn''t just a brain malifunction.
I encourage anyone to read NDE's because they teach alot about life in general.

debating religion is not fun "Period". Trying to disprove someone's beliefs on a gaming forum is one of the dumbest things ive heard "Period". What MMORPG do you play? And also if you can, answer the question in my 1st post, so now we can debate why you need to come to these forums to make the 200th religous debate thread "Period".
EDIT: i just saw your post count and came to the conclusion that almost all of your posts are in this one thread, why did you even come here when you can get a more popular thread in some other forums? I've never seen somebody join a forum just for the off-topic discussion, until today.

and about the NDE thing ..... one of my dad's old friends used to flip off god every morning and was probably the last person you would think to become a christian. And if you havent alrdy guessed at what happened, he went through an NDE and started going to church in the later weeks after. I dunno if anyone can explain it, but tbh i think i would be lucky to expirience something so deep and out of this world in my lifetime.
EDIT: the story i told is alot shorter then the original, this was just the main jits of it. And im not saying everyone reacts the same way to an NDE, but it is life changing.

NDE's can have a major effect on the credulous. There are literally hundreds of stories that are similar to the one you told. It's like the old, wrong, saying, "There are no Atheists in foxholes." The reason for the saying is, people get frightened, have no control over their current situation, and look to a supernatural source to put things right. The saying has, in some form or another, existed since the invention of gods because human-beings do not handle situations where they have no control very well. This is the source of religion, and why religion will always be around. We knock on wood, we wear our lucky underwear during sports, and we try not to think about what bad things might occur in case that causes them to happen, oh, and as MC Hammer might say, that's why we pray. We're superstitious by nature. NDE's are simply the product of a dying body going through a traumatic experience, and we expect things not to get weird? Heck, I've had dreams that are on par with NDE's. But we understand dreams, right? We'll understand, fully, NDE's some day as well. Just give it time.
