Yes because it's the mmorpg I want but only if Jedi wern't in it because they ruined the game and put the TEF back and the 10 min timer on starports and 5 mins on shuttles and capped armor and buffs.
---------------------------------------- Talking about SWG much?
I'm too old for first person shooters. My reflexes just aren't what they were when I was in my late 20's, early 30's. I could load up Oblivion I guess, but playing with myself is boring. Playing games, among other forms of entertainment, is always better with someone else, hence the draw of mmo's.
There was a time when I would have played a classic server. First though SOE and LA would have to admit that in the fall of 2005, they marketting one game while they were actually planning to deliver something else entirely. They'd have to officially apologize for misleading people that way and return any subscription revenue they generated that extended past Nov. 15; the day the game they marketted came to an end.
Then they'd have to discipline all those responsible for the misleading marketting, and for making the executive decision to erase the progress of their entire gaming community in the hope of bringing in a new and larger audience.
Then they'd have to fix all the bugs and issues they said they were going to fix with the original game. A lot of work was done to that end by devs and correspondents, but it was chucked in the trash when management got WoW envy.
Then they'd have to have a procedure for informing customers of game changes in a timely fashion.
Then, I would have played.
Now, however, they had 3 years and numerous requests to do any of the above, and they have adamantly refused. Not only that, but SOE supporters, including former employees, have been extremely hostile and derogatory to gamers. So, no, I wouldn't deal with SOE as it is today.
I'm content to enjoy other things. If a StarWars MMO comes out someday that isn't run by ANY of the people connected with the NGE (in SOE or LA), I'll look at it.
No not anymore, I would have had they brought it back when some of my friends still gave a crap about SWG. So many lies and deceptions, no real apologies or redress of player grievances. SOE is not a company that can be trusted to keep their word. SOE does not care about their customers, if they think in their infinite wisdom they can gain 2 customers by screwing 1 they will gladly screw the 1. Do not give them anymore of your hard earned cash, It sends the message that screwing customers is ok and will be tolerated by the gaming community.
Personally I wouldn't go back but I would absolutely love to see all the little fanbois despair over their servers emptying out as players fled to the pre-cu server.
I voted "no", even though I would like to play the Pre-CU version again, but...
With John the "Sandbox just doesn't work" Smedley at his throne in SOE and with developers that don't play sandbox game and/or don't know how to design one, I'm sure the Pre-CU server would die a few months into it and he will come out and continue saying that "sandbox just doesn't work..."
If the game was sent back to just prior to the CU then, yes, I would resubscribe both my accounts and I am sure atleast 5 other friends with thier nultiple accounts.
I and others have already stated this many times, lost hope long ago though.
i might have a year ago, but if they did it tomorrow .... i wouldnt go back. Not with the college level personnel they have there, every competent person who used to work there are long gone. I am waiting for the ducks now, although their team seems like it is poised to ruin their own project with the addition of stupid features (pod-racers, kashyyk, mustafar, tanaab, etc.). I am afraid i will never be able to just play the pre-cu without somebody fucking it up.

At this point I hate SOE and LEC so much that I'd not go back under _ANY_ circumstances. Basically I want to see Smed and the rest of the loons at SOE fired more than I want Pre-CU.

It's sad to see that a lot of people feel this way. A company soo distrusted, that even if theyh give back the fans what they want they still lose close to 40% of the original consumers. Here's hoping that whenever the new MMO drops sony doesn't have there hands in the cookie jar.
I voted NO. Its just that i think our game is in better hands with the ducks. The greatest saga ever told will truly be told by the pre-CU vets. And on our terms. To hell with Smedley and his minions.
Hauken Stormchaser I want pre-CU back Station.com : We got your game Yeah?, Well i want it back!!!

I would certainly re-open my three accounts too on a Classic Server.
I would go back for the classic game, but I'm not sure how long I would stay. Since Galaxies was deep-sixed by the NGE, I've been exposed to other games. While none of those I've tried have the depth of SWG, I saw a lot of polished gameplay. If someone could meld the community, depth and wide-open game-play of the preCU with the physics and fun combat of CoH, they would have a blockbuster.
Nope -- the game was subpar at release and never got better. I doubt it would have been nearly as successful had it not had the name Star Wars. And, for anyone voting yes, consideration should be givein to how long you would actually stay after returning.
Subpar thopugh you think it might have been it still had a quarter of a million subscribers - Dan Rubenfield's figires - which made it the second largest MMORPG around after WoW. And considering those figures even after two years of buggy play then it would suggest a lot of people would actually stay and play, fanboi.
There simply aint any games like Pre-CU out there, and that means I aint got no place to call home.
In a dream world tho, I would have seen Smedley and his gang of dopehead developers tossed out of their offices and forced to do a "Kanossa walk" to the unemployment office, and Torres and a few e and current LucasArt peolpe with them. Before I went back... But as I said, there's no choice if I want to still keep my hobby as a MMORPG player.
My "stamp" collection was stolen, and now everyone and their dolly is collecting marbles instead... And only one company can bring me back my stamps

That's precious -- you call me a fanboi for not sticking with a buggy game. "Fanboi" -- I don't think this word means what you think it means....
Nope the game sucked before cu and the game sucked after cu.
What the heck are you talking the about? The game was great before the combat upgrade. it had major flaws with balancing, and collision detection. I dare anyone to name anything that was truely wrong with the game other than that? I almost forgot the overwhelming number of Jedi per server. I had one, and still would have given up the my hard earned knight to get rid of some of them. a cap should have been mandatory
I know SOE is a bunch of liars who are going to treat me like garbage, but I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.
It's like using an airline to get to Cancun: you know that even at their best, they're going to treat you like cattle but you're so excited about the end result that you're willing to put up with the rectal probe....
Without a major personnel change at SOE, along with a fundamental change in the company's attitude toward their customers (something that won't happen without the personnel changes), I won't spend a single cent on any product SOE earns any revenue from. So to answer the question, no, I wouldn't join an SOE classic server.
I'm quoting Obee cause he just said my stance on SOE perfectly

Again, to say this only hurts yourself. I'm a starwars fan, i'm not a fan of little elves in tights , and a gigantic norse swinging a sword. I have been without my game for too long now, and I think it's high time we get it back. The thing is they can't just put a heaping pile of Bantha Poodoo in a starwars box and expect me to go out and buy (which is the reason my DVD Starwars Saga is without Episode I the phantom Menace). Soo staying and Paying for this NGE garbage is completely out of the question.

SOE will NEVER, and I mean NEVER, get another penny from me. I don't knowingly support hostile corporations.
Tecmo Bowl.
I voted yes, because...what else is there to do.

I'm so depressed over the state of mmo's today.
